Unfortunately I think the reverse is about to happen. ASX300 rebalance is coming up in March, we've dropped quite a bit and I'm sure we'll and truly out of the index. Which means all of the funds tracking the index are about to start selling out...hopeful it will turn from here after stabilising in this 55-60c range, and not hit another leg down like after the 80c range where I thought it had found a bottom
also hope there is some real institutional inflow soon. always been a bit of a worry that Talga hasn't been able to attract significant institutional support. I've told myself it's the permit uncertainty that's kept them away - will be finding out if that's true soon. "Soon" being a relative term....
Btw, the hedgehog in this tweet is suspicious. not sure if it has any meaning in the Australia day, but it shows up when you order a Tesla car, i.e. the deal closed.

Begs the question - have they received notification from the SC of no Leave to Appeal, and the floodgates are about to open?
Hi BBUnfortunately I think the reverse is about to happen. ASX300 rebalance is coming up in March, we've dropped quite a bit and I'm sure we'll and truly out of the index. Which means all of the funds tracking the index are about to start selling out...
Feels like the only thing that can prevent that is a timely rejection of the permit appeal and a spike up in MC to keep us in the index
No, but I know from BRN that they simply didn't let the high shorted out of the index, repeatedly. They should have been kicked out several times if it was only about the numbers. Even in these decisions they seem to have influence.Hi BB
I have been thinking about this too.
Currently over 16M Talaga share are being actively shorted, most of which I suspect have been borrowed form funds that had to include Talaga in their portfolios when we entered the ASX 300.
So come March when the ASX Indexes are rebalanced, if, as I suspect will happen, Talga is removed, then the Shorter's will need to return 16M shares back to the funds for them to depose of.
So, do the Shorter's have to buy back the 16M shares to return them to the funds for them to resell them, or is there some other accounting mechanism they can use to rebalance their portfolios?
Does anyone know how this would work in practice?
Thanks
Gero
Yes this is definitely a possibility. I’ve long thought the SC outcome would be a precursor to finalisation of funding and offtakes, but there could come a point or circumstance that warrants an adjustment to strategy.Yes this thought definitely crossed my mind because I was expecting all news to be withheld until after the Supreme Court decision. It’s possible that was the plan but the limits of continuous disclosure have been pushed, and you wouldn’t want to delay signing a deal with Tesla in case the chance never came again later
Agree, can’t see anyway they could put out that Tweet without an ANN prior to open on Monday. As to whether it’s necessarily Talnode-Si I’m not sure - Talnode C and Talphene are shown in the same photo. Si would obviously be a good fit for the X though. The more I think about this, there will have to be an Tal-si announcement next week. Talga are careful with their disclosure obligations and this I think would be a significant breach of there’s no announcement

I can actually find the wheel at Audi. But that doesn't mean anything or much. The brake disk (?) is more interesting, maybe from Brembo. I'll ask some friends later about this detail.

Can any of you check Twitter to see if he has also sprinkled breadcrumbs? I don't have an account.

On the other hand, this is a very good picture puzzle and I like such riddles! I haven't been able to solve it yet. But I would read here
- in the background is a store called CARTE BLANCHE (though I can't make out what they sell; maybe fine paper or packaging; no idea)
- The license plate is yellow
- much more interesting: the vehicle is facing or parking the wrong way on the road; that speaks for the UK - they are so crazy. And if it were moving it would be blurred. It is parking in the wrong direction just as this vehicle.
- above is a piece of a building and ~ maybe timber framing that looks very traditional; this already eliminates many possible cities; for me an important detail;
- the last detail is the red suit and the person who seems to be putting something in the trunk. I don't think a private person would wear such red clothes. But I can imagine a bellboy from a upscale hotel wearing it. But maybe it's just an eccentric person. I hope I'm not offending anyone.*
The assumption is that the photo was taken somewhere in the UK, maybe London maybe Cambridge.
But I haven't found a street view that would fit. Maybe this is just the driving service of an upscale hotel. The yellow warning sign in the car would speak for that.
Exciting, finally something to puzzle over again!

* This reminds me of a little anecdote about red and distribution. I once had a conversation with a CSO for the Asian Pacific region of a global company. He had replaced his predecessor who was fired because he was hardly able to land any deals. As the new CSO later realized, because he was told, this was due to a small red detail. The former CSO APAC liked red socks. But in China they are supposedly a symbol for clowns. So he was not taken seriously as CSO because he liked red socks
I think I have found it! There's a symbol on the door that I know from my city and the shop window looks very similar.last post on his twitter is from a year ago. So no breadcrumbs from him.
Different approaches with the same result. Congratulations, we both guessed correctly. The hint about the weather and the rain drops would have sufficed anywayRemarkable Holmes,
He has "Talga" on his collar, so maybe he is attending an exhibition.
The upper right (yellow-brown) has skewed architectural features. Are these reflections in the window of the open boot lid?
There are rain drops on the window, and the texter has an overcoat in front of him.
The triangular warning stickers for CCTV and AUDIO are in English.
His handkerchief does not match his jacket, so definitely in England.
