PERMITS

So maybe the Supreme Court of Sweden is holding out on the enacting of legislation in Brussels on Critical Raw Materials, which will include the mining and industrial processing within EU borders of Natural Graphite to battery components.

No worries
LOL...................are you implying that the Supreme Court are waiting for the matter to be taken out of their hands by over-riding legislation so they don't have to cop any blame............LOL

A conspiracy.................?

We will just have to suck it up. Nothing we can do.
I think we are looking at mid May

Start Watch was Early December + 4 months then add another for Christmas delays = 5 months

Na.. don't think you can calculate it that way. I think the 4 months is some kind of average and the true time depends on case complexity and other things. Our case is relatively complicated compared to most others.. which is why it takes longer. So we are above the average while many simpler cases are below the average. We have no idea when the court will have made up it's mind.

But just taking random starting dates and adding an average is not going to work. Like taking the average speed of cars through a city and compute your commute time from A to B. Works for a large number of cases on average but any specific case can be anywhere between 15 minutes and 1 hour. We are stuck in traffic and blindfolded.. so we have to wait.

If permits are not done by May then we will see a wave of Tax Loss selling leading to Aus June 30 end of tax year… me included for some of my holdings unfortunately…

OK so if the Judge allows leave to appeal I guess we are heading back to the Land & Environment Court , then to the Land & Environment Appeals Court, then back to the Supreme Court.

Could Talga be caught in some sort of galactic eternal loop

Was that actually a groundhog we saw on one of MT's recent tweets ?

Sell or wash trades (simultaneously sell and buy to realize the losses) ?

Hang in there mate!

And I would also make a colour switch for you in the picture of my avatar. It's quite simple. Methinks of black and blue.)

"Talga contacts the government - puts pressure on the municipality

The company Talga AB, which wants to open a graphite mine in Njunisvárri in Kiruna municipality, has submitted a request for a planning order to the government.

They want the government to order the municipality of Kiruna to adopt a new detailed plan that allows land impacts from the mine.

At the end of February this year, the Social Democrats in Kiruna decided to say no to the graphite mine after a membership vote."

From my external perspective, contacts with the government couldn't be better. I don't know of anyone from them who is against this project. The lawyer from the University of Lulea who is specialised in mining has already hinted at this step. So I see this news as very very positive!

Talga wants to run over the municipality - goes to the government about the mine in Vittangi
UPDATED TODAY PUBLISHED TODAY 10:54

Talga has submitted a request to the government for a planning order because the municipality of Kiruna is delaying granting a detailed plan for the graphite mine in Vittangi.

The mining company believes that Europe's self-sufficiency in the critical raw material for batteries depends on the mine.

- A tool that has barely been tested for mines in Sweden, says Cen Rolfsson, the company's communicator about the request.

One tenth of the EU's production
Talga wants to mine graphite, which is a strategic raw material used to manufacture anodes for lithium-ion batteries. The mining company is now also building the first facility for graphite anode material for batteries in Luleå.

The mining company emphasizes that it is their ambition to extract 16.2 percent of the EU's demand for natural graphite by the year 2030. They must also produce roughly 10 percent of the EU's demand for anode material from natural graphite during the same time period.

China controls 90 percent
Currently, Europe is dependent on imports and China controls 90 percent of the value chain for battery graphite anodes, according to the mining company.

In Talga's letter to the government, it states, among other things:

"This is completely dependent on Sweden's permit processes, including the current detailed plan. The processes that Talga is involved in are extremely time-critical in order to meet the expectations of investors as well as customers and entrepreneurs, but also to be able to supply Sweden and Europe with graphite in this critical situation".

""We can't stop the mine" - hear the municipal council about the mining company's actions.

Kiruna's municipal councilor surprised by Talga's actions
UPDATED TODAY 15:16PUBLISHED TODAY 15:10
Kiruna's municipal councilor is surprised that Talga is going to the government for a planning order for the graphite mine in Vittangi.

The reason for the surprise is that the municipality has not yet made a decision on the matter.

- It's unfortunate. This is not how it should work, says Mats Taaveniku (S).

The municipal council believes that the mining company should wait for the democratic process. The matter will be dealt with by the municipal board's working committee on March 25, and after that the political decision must be made in the municipal council.

In the clip, the municipal councilor hears thoughts about Talga's decision."

@beserk please would you hear for us to both statements in the two videos?

The Kiruna municipality can be bypassed by the government - detailed plan. That's exactly the pass they're going now to save time. The friendly one from the same party is in favour of the internal party process and a vote on the 25th.
But Talga doesn't want to take that time. That's right I think!
If the almost hopeless appeal at the Supreme Court is rejected, this obstacle to wasting time will probably no longer exist. I love this activity!

Phew, I'm glad I'm not alone. You are very welcome! I already felt like the guy in the London hospital who walks out onto the street '28 days later' and doesn't see anyone 😅
