Nope. Hopefully Talga were told on Thursday swedish time so it's announced Friday. So Monday Aus announcement I’m guessing…
Thx and FFSNope. Hopefully Talga were told on Thursday swedish time so it's announced Friday.
But Friday in Sweden is a public holiday so next chance they would tell talga would be Monday swedish time, so Tuesday Aus time would be next earliest chance for announcement.
Corpus cristi is also on Sunday, another public holiday I believe. I don't think they get Monday off for that, but the people responsible for notifying of the results could decide to have a long weekend, meaning we may need to wait even longer![]()
Does that say, adoption 29th September 2025?The posting of the plan and the three-week deadline are now known.

Entry into force THREE WEEKS after adoption!:
Examination
Before the municipality can make a decision on the adoption of a detailed plan, the plan proposal must be made available for review. The review period runs from 11 June to 14 July 2025.
Why is there an audit?
When a draft detailed plan has been subject to consultation and the municipality has processed it based on the information and comments received, the draft plan shall be available for review prior to a decision on adoption. The purpose of the review is to present the revised draft plan that the municipality intends to adopt and at the same time give affected stakeholders a final opportunity to submit comments. It is important that you submit any comments you may have during the review stage, as otherwise you will lose the right to appeal later.

All documents related to the detailed plan are available in their entirety at the City Hall and on Kiruna Municipality's website: www.kiruna.se/stenbrottet

Talga may be able to proceed with constructing the mine site infrastructure without needing to obtain individual building permits:
From the plan proposal:
"Buildings and Development
The entire planning area will acquire a new character. The detailed plan regulates exemptions from the requirement for building permits, which means that it will be possible to develop the area with the buildings needed for the operation.
The proposed regulations through plan provisions ensure that the main establishment of new buildings takes place in the central parts of the planning area. It is not possible to cover the entire area with buildings or an open-pit mine. The western and southern outer areas are surrounded by nature, with the possibility for individual buildings of more limited scope. The regulations create a buffer zone with a high degree of preserved vegetation, which reduces visual impact.
Through regulations on maximum heights for upcoming buildings and storage areas, as well as design provisions regarding facades and roofs, the impact on the landscape is minimized"
This follows what the Planning and Building Act allows:
"Exemptions under a detailed plan or area regulations
Section 7
To the extent that the municipality has determined, under Chapter 4, Sections 15 or 42, that an exemption from the requirement for a building permit applies, a building permit is not required, despite Section 2, to:
1. Within an area covered by a detailed plan, carry out a measure in the manner and during the time the municipality has specified in the plan; or
2. Within an area covered by area regulations, in the manner the municipality has specified in the area regulations:
a) undertake a measure concerning an accessory building,
b) carry out a small extension,
c) make an extension to or other modification of an industrial building, or
d) undertake a measure concerning a simple holiday home, allotment cabin, or another similar building.
Within a cohesive built-up area, carrying out a measure referred to in paragraph 2 a or b requires the consent of affected neighbors for the action to proceed without a building permit, if such consent is needed given the extent of the buildings in the area. The first and second paragraphs do not apply if a building permit review is necessary to safeguard the interests of neighbors or the general public."
I also mention this because NIMBYs, having completed the review period for the draft plan from CAB, are now wetting themselves about it on social media."
