Talga optimises Vittangi processes but ups development costs

Cost increase only “modest” in light of global inflationary pressures, company says

image above is from the Talga website, must be a recent update because I don't recall seeing it before in an asx release. Specifically this page:

@beserk I don't think the buildings will be unoccupied for any period. While the current planning restricts mining to 6 months per year, operation of these facilities (crushing, concentrator, haulage of concentrate to Lulea etc) will run all year round. Mined material will be stockpiled. From the DFS:

Just a heads up. I think with June comes the tax loss harvesting season. Since TLG is down quite a bit, people might sell tlg to offset taxes they have to pay on winnings from other stocks. As such, I expect we will be seeing quite some downward pressure the coming weeks.

With the decision of the SC probably being months away (wasn't that other mine taking 10 months for their appeals acceptance to be decided? I expect our decision to last just as long. So let's say it's gonna be August/September), we are looking into a quite dark tunnel.

Talga, please make a synthetic graphite development for Talnode-Si. We are waiting for Godot here ..

This is the most positive piece of factual evidence coming out of Sweden that there may be hope for our “little” project to progress past this bulging hemorrhoid 💨 of a process, at the SC, sometime sooner rather than later.

Talking of bulging hemorrhoids, F U lefties 🤣

Have a nice weekend indeed!

Yes, that would make sense. However my frustration with the Swedish eco-socialists at times gets confused with my frustration with the Australian Labour Party (for not ‘necessarily’ the same reasons). After all the Australian Labour Party is commonly described as “a social democratic party, and its constitution stipulates that it is a democratic socialist party”. That is debate for another time/forum though.

The term social is often used here. I don't want you to get the feeling that I'm biased. If a christian democratic or liberal party in Kiruna behaved like that, I'd be all over them.
But at the moment this is simply the stage of the eco-socialists who are fighting against their own direction, such as the Green Deal.
From me, everyone can vote what they want as long as they don't destroy my freedom. Then I get grumpy.

Because its almost weekend, here something I came across today. Googles AI is a disaster for quite some time. And it gets worse:

Googles AI doesnt understand that "you should eat at least one small rock per day" was a joke. It takes it seriously. I cant verify that result (as it doesnt show up for me) but its funny that they let these type of AI systems loose on massive scale. Take care and dont trust anyone. We probably are entering an area where you are lost if you dont have a good mental model of the world. If you cant decide whether something makes sense or not. Like our eco-enthusiasts that think preventing a graphite mine is better for the environment than building it. Or preventing a rail delivery for a car factory is better than building it. They are already lost and cant think straight. We are battling stupidity and AI doesnt help.

We are here in the bar, so:
I'd like to add that we're celebrating our constitution today. The best constitution Germany has ever had. And who questioned it just the other day with an attack. Climate activists of the last generation, who have the freedom to carry out such actions at all because of this constitution. This construction that they attacked is the only reason why this activist group has not yet been banned. How stupid can they get? A little Ai probably wouldn't do them any harm.
Or, they would eat at least one stone a day if they were told internally that it was good for the climate.)

While it is difficult for those ante-GPT "veterans". how will those born into the tech manage?

This is going to make Pandora look like Polyanna.

My inner-Luddite tells me that, while enough is never enough, we need to start smashing those satanic mills.

I am in favour of not smashing them and instead making them better and much more environmental friendly with Akida.

Some people here may find my opinion harsh, others normal and others something else.
I think it's a shame that we can't pull together with the environmentalists and activists and climate activists and Sami. And I mean that seriously.
How often would I have thought what a personal conversation would be like?
But I know something like that from my personal environment.
It's always called basic is science. But as soon as I don't address this argument selectively but in full, it's no good either.
Maybe it's just a change in times or society. I can just speculate.
I wish it were different.
I often thought that my socialist, ecological, conservative, liberal view of life was already quite pronounced.

Yeah nothing about them is really socialist. In socialism yes profits are more equally shared, but to the workers - ie the population is still supposed to be contributing to a productive society.
What the NIMBY's here are doing is saying they want to play no part in contributing, purely rent-seeking based on physical proximity.

I don't know if the position for communication with the Sami has finally been filled, I'll have to have a look.
Curious thought, an Aborigine would be ideal for that job. That would be on an equal footing and wouldn't make vulnerable for woke attacks.

Instead of how things are going on in the industrial park, I found this. If I were cynical, I could see this as the last gasp of a dying society

These are really first world 1a+ problems.
Here is the whole text and not just an URL. So important it is.
...SD are right wingers

"2024-05-20
I C (SD) and T L (SD) have submitted a motion to remove the information on carbon dioxide equivalents for each dish from the menus of the schools in Luleå municipality.

💣How dare they make such a disgustingly insane request!! 💥

On 27 March 2023, the municipal council resolved in § 46 that the motion can be submitted and forwarded to the municipal board for preparation.

An application (SD) has been submitted requesting the deletion of information on the carbon dioxide equivalents of individual dishes on the menus of Luleå Municipality's schools. According to the applicants, this contributes to increased climate anxiety, which the applicants believe is both unnecessary and harmful to children and risks further increasing the mental health of our young people.

One of the responsibilities of the Labour Market and Education Administration's catering services is to actively work to reduce the climate impact of food. Today, data is available for kg Co2/kg of food purchased and the target is a carbon dioxide equivalent of no more than 1.5 kg Co2/kg by 2025. This target has already been achieved this year, 2023. The target is one of several quality targets for the food category adopted by the City Council 2021-08-16 § 197. The Children and Education Authority's business plan also includes the target that school meals should have a low climate footprint.

There are currently no guidelines or requirements that the carbon dioxide equivalent of each dish on the school meal plan must be stated. However, as part of school education, children and pupils should develop the ability to deal with sustainability issues by learning for sustainable development. School meals are part of education in the school system and learning related to meals is developed together in each individual unit.

The system currently used by school kitchens does not allow the carbon dioxide equivalent of each dish to be calculated. As the carbon dioxide equivalents are not currently given for the individual dishes on the menus of the schools in the municipality of Luleå, the Administration for Labour Market and Education has proposed that the Committee for Children and Education and the Committee for Labour Market and Upper Secondary Education recommend that the City Council decide to respond to the application.

The Labour and Secondary Education Committee decided to recommend that the City Council consider the application as answered. During the discussion of the matter, I I (SD) entered a reservation against the resolution.

The City Council decided 2024-05-06 § 128 to recommend to the City Council to consider the request as answered. During discussion of the matter, I V (SD) entered a reservation against the resolution.

Decision-making process
The Chairman puts the proposal of the Municipal Executive Board and Ingrid Cannerfelt's proposal against each other and finds that the Municipal Council approves the Municipal Executive Board's proposal."

The motion was not approved and was therefore rejected. Children can continue to learn about the carbon footprint of school meal, while a company that would love to save millions of tonnes of CO² waits for the municipal executive committee to announce that it has made a legal nomination after the fifth attempt.
Honestly - I haven't the slightest idea what the status of this decision is. But now I know what the education of future generations is all about.
They are producing climate zombies. For shure, no Furphy! as I learned today.) They produce climate zombies that are so jaded from the pedagogical squeeze mill and thought washing that they will only call for climate. Cliiiimate ... cliiiimaate ... cliiiimaaaate 🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️

Mum, this cook is evil 😢 Our school meal's footprint has not adjusted linearly downwards. You our parents should demand strict action from the others in the kitchen over there! Otherwise things will end badly for our planet. You don't want that, do you 🥺

I just fear that things are even more insane in my own xy-wing city parliament 🤣
The first step here would be to debate whether the menu is formulated woke enough and gender-conform and whether it adequately takes into account all religions, especially one over the others.
Only then would a committee be formed, costing two or three millionette to determine which CO² limits are appropriate. Then, with German thoroughness, a CO² key is calculated for every single ingredient in every conceivable dish. Then declarations of commitment are formulated which the chefs have to sign. The chefs then have to assign their scarce specialised staff to calculate and check the footprint for each dish on a weekly basis and then have it approved using the four-eyes principle. The menus are then printed out so that they can be kept as proof for the next but at least 10a for documentation purposes. But the menus are printed on recycled chlorine-free bleached paper. All of this incurs costs that are added to each meal.
This is where it differs from here. I think I have heard that in Sweden mealtimes at school are free. But that is unfair because the rich benefit unjustly was said in the radio. Never mind.

Please don't take me seriously, especially not in the bar. That all has also left its mark on me.

The unemployment rate in the West is far too low consequently various Societies have people trying to solve problems that actually don't exist.

i.e. Too many people are employed in jobs that the Economy can do without

This waiting is doing my head in ..............................seriously

All I can do is remember that

1) MT said the Environmental Appeal judge advised the Antis not to appeal

2) It was up to the Antis to identify the grounds for an Appeal

3) Barely any requests for an Appeal are successful

4) The Appeal didn't even get allocated to a Judge until.............what was it 8 December or something ?????????????....all because documents were not finalised

5) It takes up to 4 months for just 50% of requests for Appeal to be heard and determined and all others take longer than 4 months. The 3 or 4 month average sprouted by the Supreme Court on their webpage is bullshit.

6) Given 5) above I'm not surprised our Letter Requesting Special Treatment was immediately rejected.

Any other reasons to stay calm ????????????????????????????????????

I think, you need a drink.. as do I. Lets open this bottle Ron Malecon 9 year old. Its a bit sweet and has a good vanilla note. Ill share it with you and anyone who needs to calm down. But yes, I have nothing to add to your list. The situation is beyond stupid.

All of this and many details have definitely changed my image of this country over the years. I wouldn't have thought that.
But it's no wonder as much as I am involved in politics or local things there. I can't get it with the footprint in canteens out of my head. Why don't the Moralcultists explain to their children what is really relevant and teach them what products are made out of what, how they are best exploited or even recycled, processed and sustainably produced, so that children might decide to take up this exciting profession later instead of pointing at others and calling them to act, as on the canteen. And the carbon footprint should not be related to food in the canteen but to their own e.g. phones or the hip vapes they throw away.
It's a twisted world, except for the Moralcultist in their bubble.
That's what I think here in the bar in the morning with unsustainable fried eggs and coffee. You're all crazy except me LoL 😅
