An alternate way to look at or consider things with regard to Cominiere puffing it’s chest out and comments around new partners is AVZ have a sale agreement in place for its majority stake in Dathcom.

If that happens and the $$$ are substantial then obviously it doesn’t matter how they split up the Manono pie thereafter.

AVZ’s current and near term position on all of this hasn’t played as yet.

Anyway that’s my glass half full view on current position, and hopeful expectation, holders can sip on that or spill the milk, up to you all of course. 👍😁

Can you explain the sale agreement please ? Cheers

He's suggesting sale agreement = takeover (or just sale of the tenaments)

There won’t be a TO, although we’ll get some decent interests from new investors for sure once trading resumes in the near future

Then why are AVZ meeting with CAMI and releasing statements indicating they are committed to the project?

According to a statement from AVZ Minerals Ltd, including a copy sent to MINES.CD, it is indicated that this meeting is "a singular importance", especially since it marks the resumption of work sessions between the Mining Cadastre and the Australian mining giant on the lithium exploitation project in the Manono.

"Paul Mabolia was fully satisfied with this initiative and expressed his enthusiasm for the prospects for future collaboration," noted the statement while explaining that the DG of the CAMI also expressed his willingness to "involve personally", under the supervision of the Ministry of Mines, to "guarantee the success of the Manono project".

"AVZ Minerals Ltd's unwavering commitment to the realization of this project is harmoniously combined with the vision of the Head of State, His Excellency Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, as well as with the senior management of the mining cadastre. This courtesy visit strengthens existing ties and lays the foundations for fruitful collaboration, aimed at achieving the ambitious objectives of the Manono project, "concluded the statement from AVZ Minerals Ltd.

What would the optics be like if they indicated they wanted to sell prior to officially getting the ML?

Why would we sell if we got the ML?
Well your question was "Then why are AVZ meeting with CAMI and releasing statements indicating they are committed to the project?"

To which I replied "What would the optics be like if they indicated they wanted to sell prior to officially getting the ML?"

I dare say no good if they said they plan to sell. Wouldn't help with obtaining ML.

As to "Why would we sell if we got the ML?"
Could be a number of reasons such as something prearranged, difficulty building a mine, difficulty dealing with DRC gov.

But personally if we get the ML I hope we go mining as that will bring the most value for shareholders and the DRC.

Because of hostile working/collaboration conditions from private and governmental bodies....

Yeah I get it. But the optics of cashing in on 'speculating' after promising to bring the project to life would be pretty bad. Not that I give a fuck how we would be seen if it means an end to this shitshow.

I still think a sale pre ML is more likely if that is what the bod want to do but we would get more value having a BFS which needs the ML and would include the updated drilling results. And playing the game until then is the smart option.

Doesn't necessarily need to be a ML either . The Chinese could buy us out knowing they will be awarded the ML . Cominiere want Zijin . If a fair $$ settlement is offered all legal proceeding disappear and the project can move forward (without AVZ) .

Just give me an end to this saga. Occupies far too much of my day and mind with unknowns.
In the last 2 weeks we have been on highs because it's almost happening for us then huge lows because something else has come up.
The bulk of us will never understand how the DRC works and their thinking and for mine the Chinese are not going to walk away without using every last devious option they can come up with.
I don't know what the answer is, we are all guessing here. Maybe it is the ICC, I hope so and soon.

Yes the rumour thing was likely 100% Bullshit.

I followed up with Kiki on his article where it says Lisette is related to PR05, he stated that Lisette is of the same ethnic origins (a misunderstood importance from us westerners), she is in his political party and also her father is a friend of PR05 father. This is a family bond here.
Kiki says they are indeed very close allies. Delicate.🤦‍♂️, in the face of what the IGF report said of her.

NEWSECONOMY

The new staff of COMINIERE promises to make lithium the workhorse for the revival of the company

August 23, 2023
Kiki Kienge

By Kiki Kienge
It was during the handover and takeover ceremony with the former administration of COMINIERE (Congolese mining company) which took place this Monday, August 21, 2023 in Kinshasa, that the new staff now at the head of the company, unveiled its ambitions for the revival of the Congolese state company which since the end of the exploitation of tin under Mobutu's Zaire, has remained only the shadow of itself.
With the discovery of the richest hard rock lithium deposit in the world, an ore already certified through the joint venture, DATHCOM, including the group's Australian partners, AVZ MINERALS, which provided their financial and material resources for the international certification of lithium. of Manono through its feasibility study. La COMINIERE has seen its dreams of ambitions of international grandeur come true, and why not compete with the Congolese cobalt and copper mining giant like Gécamines!
After at least four years of indecision on the establishment of a management team for COMINIERE, the Head of State Félix Tshisekedi has decided to appoint the new staff of the company with Mrs. Lisette Tshibwabwa one of his relatives as President of the Administration Committee and Céléstin Kibeya as Managing Director.
At the handover ceremony after reading the ordinance appointing members of the Board of Directors and the management committee, as well as the minutes, to participate in particular the representative of the Minister of Portfolio, Mrs Adèle Kayinda , Ministry in charge of Congolese state companies, the Management Committee and COMINIERE staff.
After reading the order appointing members of the Board of Directors and the Management Committee, the outgoing Chairman AI of the Board of Directors wished the new management team every success:
“What I can say and I urge Madam President, to continue the revival and above all to make it operational, so that COMINIERE actually becomes a mining producing company. That way we could not completely do without partnerships, at least we have our own business that works and that talks to each other in parallel with its partners. »
The new PCA, Lisette Tshibwabwa Kabanga praised the work of the outgoing team and promised to spare no effort so that COMINIERE becomes again with its lithium, one of the major companies in the country which contribute to the development of the country:
“In my capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors, we will humbly ensure that COMINIERE takes up the challenges and difficulties related to its future by allowing it to benefit; Firstly, what is due to it in terms of rights, property, communication, image and to rise in the category of large-scale companies. The Board of Directors will not fail to do its utmost to ensure that COMINIERE is a model management company. »
COMINIERE hopes that under the direction of engineer Célestin Kabeya Kabemba , to accomplish its sovereign missions and carry out its Manono lithium project in the province of Tanganyika, in particular to make DR Congo the world center for energy transition through this mineral strategic.

I mean it's very obvious that Cominiere will be pushing hard with the MoM and the President for them to 'develop' Manono in conjunction with new 'partners'. No prizes for guessing who those partners are, or what role Cominiere would play in this. This is what CKK has been going on and on about, and Cominière's position is that the cancellation of our licence is a done deal.

Now ICC/ICSID may have something to say about that, but when's our case with Cominiere even set for? Let alone the years ICSID will take.

It's my belief that Cominiere will be attempting to press all the buttons they can to all the big players, to say this is the only way forward in which Manono is developed in the coming years - namely during this Presidents (poss. next) term - and the only way their battery manufacturing strategy is underpinned by publicly viewable action, rather than being blocked by a spread of legal actions they are blaming on us. I'm sure they will also be saying that Zijin would offer a larger percentage to the DRC government, and telling FT that AVZ are just trying to claim everything. I don't know if Lisette is indeed related to FT but I bloody well hope not for an inner track for those messages to percolate.

Its all no doubt part of the China backed strategy to delay long enough, with support of suborned local elites, until they propose another pathway forward - portraying it as the only viable one towards the fruition of FTs plans. Casting us as the hostage-taker in this narrative, even though we know full where the real blockade is coming from.

But do the other players know? Will the top bosses see through this Chinese backed Charade, unlike the previous time? Or will we eventually see a reallocation of the licence under this pressure - and the project then being constructed by others whilst a years-long legal case for restitution goes ahead in the background. We surely know which one Cominiere and Zijin are agitating for - CKK has openly admitted that they're preparing new partners to progress manono and this media report is in line with that. That's the game they are playing.

We really need top level FaceTime with MoM and President to dispel the bullshit. This failed during Covid for obvious reasons, but we can't let it happen again. Hopefully Nige and Co can meet with these figures in the near future to put another side to the story. Surely they must be aware the perception damage this would do to their business climate, but they may say well canceling the licence decree already didn't bring down the roof - though I note that it did bring about ICSID, which has likely had an impact.

Still very much in the air at the moment. I know the ICC isnt known for its pace, but we really need to fast-track the Cominiere case

Time is not our friend here

Roon we have a competent management team who will do what's best in the interest of shareholders. Meanwhile suggest you put your fantasies in the bin where they belong.
