ARSP cancels the contracts of three subcontracting companies for violation of the law by SICOMINES

The Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector has sanctioned, for non-compliance with legal measures, three subcontractors who between them hold contracts worth more than a billion US dollars.

The first two companies targeted by this administrative measure are the companies CRSN (CREC7, CREC 9) and International Fourteenth First (Company 141) also called Synohydro.

They are held by the shareholders of SICOMINES who disguise themselves as subcontractors, notes the ARSP.

The third company sanctioned is Bangde Construction.

“These companies are not eligible, they are paid abroad and that does not benefit the country’s tax administration.

We have given a moratorium to prevent all SICOMINES operations from stopping suddenly and these companies will be replaced by companies with majority Congolese capital,” said Miguel Kashal Katemb, general director of ARSP.

According to him, this measure will allow Congolese companies to win contracts and hire several thousand young people.

Miguel Kashal specified that this approach is part of the President of the Republic's fight for job creation, through the promotion of entrepreneurship and the diversification of the national economy.

SINOHYDRO Corporation Ltd. offers engineering and constructions services.

The Company provides hydropower engineering, hydraulic engineering, airports, and highways construction services.

SINOHYDRO also offers investment, building materials sales, import and export, and other services.

stony silence from avz. just looking ahead and wondering what we might expect to hear through end of march.

I have:

1. ICC arbitration decision on AVZI’s jurisdictional challenge that Jin Cheng is not entitled to have recourse to ICC arbitration as it is not a shareholder of Dathcom. Decision is pending and did I read somewhere this is suppose to land before end of Feburary. strange how @9cardomaha use to come on here to give us updates on here on this sort of thing, makes me wonder what happened? Did the company ask him to stop, did the chinese take him down or did get get sick of us???
2. update on locke financing before 31st march.
3. half yearly report (last year was 16th march)
4. Appointment of DRC parliament and ministers. Expected by end of Feb????. Important to get done so negotiations on possible path forward for manono can be completed.
5. one would hope some fucking update before end of march on state of play in getting things moving and our money but who fucking knows.

is that right? anything else coming up that we can expect? of course may is looming as 2 year suspension anniversary.

Zijin Bor Copper, the Serbian unit of China's Zijin Mining Group, has suspended production at its Novo Cerovo mine in eastern Serbia after a road blockade by local villagers interrupted the supply of raw materials to the mine, local media reported on Tuesday.

Since all stocks of diesel, explosives and raw materials have been exhausted, the Novo Cerovo surface mine has to temporarily stop work, news agency Tanjug reported.

According to media reports, local people have been holding protests against the mine since the end of January, saying that it is polluting the air, water and soil in the region.

The estimated capacity of the Novo Cerovo mine is 2.5 million tonnes of ore per year.

In 2018, the Chinese group injected $350 million (326.5 million euro) in the capital of Serbian copper mining and smelting company RTB Bor, becoming its majority owner. It later renamed the company to Zijin Bor Copper.
