DRC/CAMI : Felix Tshisekedi called to intervene in favour of Chantal Bashizi to take office
March 12th 2022 - Named Administrative Director of the Minier Cadastre (CAMI), Chantal Bashizi wants the delivery ceremony resumed so that she will officially take over her duties postponed since 2018. She should replace the position of Jean-Felix Mupande.
In her letter dated 16 June 2021, the Minister of Mines, Antoinette Nsamba, had given the reason for this postponement. According to her, the report was carried out on instructions by Prime Minister Sama Lukonde.
It should be recalled that Chantal Bashizi was appointed CEO on 27 December 2018 by a presidential order appointing the representatives to the Minier Cadastre (CAMI) and this was published in the official newspaper, before the interested person was notified. It is only the handover with her predecessor needed for Chantal Bashizi to officially take office at the CAMI as CEO.
Very strange indeed.
Perhaps FT has no knowledge of this occurring like many other things going on .
Maybe some DGO need to get the message out

It was postponed rather than overturned but it makes a mockery of the mantra of 'executing the vision of the President' that the Congolese politicians spruik at every opportunity

It looks like Lukonde can't overturn the appointment of Chantal Bashizi even if he wanted to. Otherwise he would have already done so imo. The only person that can do that is the President. Like Mupande the Prime Minister is just using his administrative role to delay the legal process. The billion dollar question is why isn't Felix laying the smack down on Lukonde about not implementing his vision?
The official installation of Ms. Chantal Bashizi worries women's organizations because without valid reason to date, she has still not taken office. And once again, the new postponement of the discount and recovery is set for July 2th. This is why they accuse lethargy and cry out for the violation of article 14 of the constitution of the Republic and the non-respect of resolution 1325.

These are that of the Center of Expertise, Evaluation and Certification (CEEC), the Service for Assistance and Supervision of Artisanal Small-Scale Mining (SAEMEPE), the National Geological Service of Congo (SGNC) and CRM. It is with them she will receive her notification from the current Ministry of Mines, Mrs. Antoinette Nsamba.
