Tomorrow a decision will be made on the important land allocation. As a reminder: the land allocation can only take place with the granted processing concession.
So for this we just have to wait until tomorrow.

There is a statement from a presumed private individual regarding the exploration permit that has been granted:

Our screaming antis have sent me on this trail and to look in detail at it.) Isn't that exciting and interesting!?!

I thought it was just about the Niska expansion. These two exploration areas go far beyond what I knew before.

Bergstaaten grants many of these permits for test drilling, and I can imagine that it will be approved, or that it already has been, as with 3. The area appears on the map when I check the box for Applied (completed).

Thanks, cosors. Some additional information that should make things more clear. The case is still ongoing with the Mining Inspectorate.

"The County Administrative Board of Västerbotten has been designated as the contact point according to the EU regulation Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA), and Talga’s project in Vittangi (for which they are applying for land allocation for Nunasvaara Södra K no. 1 with Bergsstaten) has been designated by the EU Commission as a so-called strategic project. This means that we – the County Administrative Board of Västerbotten in its role as contact point for strategic projects in Västerbotten, Norrbotten, and Västernorrland – are responsible for ensuring that there are timelines for the steps involved in the process. The land allocation is one of these steps, and therefore, together with Bergsstaten, which is the authority that processes the land allocation case, we have developed a timeline. This is the timeline included in the case, and the timeline has been registered in the diary as information. Hence, the case has also been closed without further action."

The detailed planning work will take place in partial stages

The planned mining area consists of the Niska South, Niska North, Nunasvaara South and Nunasvaara North deposits. The County Administrative Board has deemed it appropriate to divide the detailed planning work into two stages, Nunasvaara South and Nunasvaara North.

Deletapp 1, Nunasvaara södra

Work is now underway to develop a proposal for a detailed plan for sub-stage 1, Nunasvaara South. The preliminary drainage of the planning area includes the area where the company has already been granted an environmental permit and the road area up to the E45 (part of Nunasvaaravägen).

👉 Stage 2, Nunasvaara North

Stage 2 consists of Niska South, Niska North and Nunasvaara North. The County Administrative Board is investigating how planning of the area can be carried out in the best way.

Planprocess

The work on the detailed plan is conducted with an extended procedure in accordance with the provisions of the Planning and Building Act. For more information on what the planning process looks like in an extended planning procedure:

The planning process began in 2020 by Kiruna municipality. A proposal for a detailed plan for the area has been shown for consultation in 2021 and review during May-June 2025. As the main purpose and conditions of the plan proposal have not changed, we assess that the planning process that has begun can continue.

New legislation

Due to changes in the legislation, we assess that previous environmental assessments need to be supplemented in order to meet formal requirements.
A decision on a supplementary investigation and delimitation consultation will be made shortly.

If I’m reading this page correctly then we’re at Audit Stage 1, where the CAB need to compile the first round of comments from affected stakeholders. They will then send out the proposed plan for a second round of comments from stakeholders, who have another 30 days to respond. Following that, the CAB will then compile those comments as part of Audit Stage 2, and make any necessary amendments to the plan. Once that’s done they will send it to the government for adoption.

So we’re probably looking at another couple of months from here right?

That's why I meant slowly.
I have the feeling they're using this case as a blueprint.
They strictly adhere to the formal process (see link to details).
But the process continues and the extension has already been taken into account.

My opinion
In any case, I can only watch as egomaniacs push global warming with their dogmatic anti attitude out of ego-interest and hide themselves and additionaly the aristocratic right of their lords to produce meat behind human rights and the fighting term colonialism. They are contaminating social cohesion with their dogmatic attitude. I read that criticism is clearly on the rise.

But for Talga, things are moving forward, slowly but inexorably.

"EU parliamentarians visit Norrbotten to learn from good examples of sustainability and innovation

15.9.2025 09:00:00
On 16-19 September, a delegation from Luleå, Gällivare, Boden and Kiruna will visit to take part in the investments made in sustainability and innovation in the region’s business sector.
During the trip, the delegation, made up of 7 members from the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), will visit several prominent companies and industries that are at the forefront of climate transition and new technologies.
Members will visit HYBRIT and Stegra, among others, which invest in green steel production and Talga, which is Europe’s first anode factory for batteries. The programme also includes a visit to Esrange Space Center and LKAB’s mine in Kiruna.
The purpose of the visit is to give the members a direct insight into how industry in Norrbotten works to create the solutions of the future, such as fossil-free production and new technology. It is societies like Luleå, Gällivare, Boden and Kiruna that lay the foundation for the industry’s green transition.
The delegation is chaired by Christophe Grudler (Renew Europe, FR). Isabella Lövin (The Greens/EFA, SE), Sofie Eriksson (S&D, SE), Susana Solis Pérez (EPP, ES), Bruno Tobback (S&D, BE), Diego Solier (ECR, ES) and Rudi Kennes (Left, BE) will also participate.
If you wish interview with a specific member, please contact Olivia Govik or Tiia Mustonen-Kockberg (contact details below)."

"The government wants to say yes to mines faster

Updated September 29, 2025Published September 26, 2025
The environmental assessments of new mines, industries, wind farms and nuclear power plants will not be reviewed in the Land and Environmental Court, but in a new authority.
The government wants the new system to begin being implemented as early as July 1, 2027.
According to Minister of Energy and Enterprise Ebba Busch (KD), it is about making environmental assessment more efficient and predictable.
Assessment and permit review will be moved from the county administrative boards' consultation process to the new authority. In the long term, tasks from the land and environmental courts may also be moved there.
According to the investigation, the land and environmental courts could become a review body.
– That way we can have a coherent permit process with one authority, says Ebba Busch.

The proposal is met with criticism

One aim is to be able to meet the requirement that projects designated in the EU's Critical Raw Materials Regulation must receive a permit within 27 months.
There are consultation bodies that are critical of the proposal. However, the Swedish Courts Administration has proposed that the land and environmental courts be closed down completely, which in turn is met with criticism. In a debate article in Svenska Dagbladet , three lawyers write that implementing the change is a waste of resources and risks losing expertise.
However, the government decided on September 19 to proceed with the inquiry's proposal. And assuming that it is also the Riksdag's decision, the changes will be implemented in stages, starting on July 1, 2027."
