Honest question. Not really clear why thats dodgy. Interesting, yes, but why dodgy?
Afternoon SiDEvans,

700,000 odd shares in one hit would pique the interest of this person's broker , never mind moving it around in the sell que. Which in turn affects the perceived BUY / SELL weightings.

I know the above due to my past trading , And having to deal with my broker, extremely frustrating.

Far more likely a Instotutional trader playing physiological games with retail holders.

Very underhanded.

Esq.

That's like search for "coca cola" and being amazed coca cola is the first result LOL

MetaTF is a brand
Agreeed. It'd be problematic if it wasn't number 1 in the results but nobody is searching for it. At least they had the foresight to call it something they didn't have to compete for the number 1 referral spot.

Thanks. Understand the perceived buy / sell bit but these days of online trading, dealing with a broker wouldn't be an issue. You just amend your order online with a few clicks.

SiDEvens,

Like I said , several years ago I would trade substantial volumes of stock.
Once trades get over a certain size , generally the broking firm would call me to
A , confirm the trade.
Or
B, disallow the trade due to the distortion in the market it would, could make.

My broker would often dissalow trades and refer me to sections of ..
ASX MARKET RULES
13.4.2
13.4.1 (B). (iii)

Together with..

CORPERATIONS ACT.
1041B
Section 5.2 through to 5.4
CRIMINAL CODE.

After explaining to my broker that I am classified as a trader, thay would continue to pull up my trades , if large enough or perceived to create a false market.

As anyone who follows the daily trades executing will clearly see , manipulation of trades and execution thereof is the preserve of the big end of town .

Retail are purely the bait.

Having found Brainchip l have become a long term holder, with no trading.

Funnily enough , simply holding from my perspective has been more nerve racking than trading.
Although the savings on brokerage together with CGT, have allowed this holding to blume simply by showing a degree of patience.

Go BRN 😃.

Regards,
Esq.

I do appreciate the feedback. I hold a significant amount and have been considering the implications of selling when the time comes.
How then as a retail holder, can you sell large volumes if you have them?

Some interesting action going on. I don’t go much on the shorting games that they play.

I’m with you on that question? I’ve been looking at this years tax return where I sold off some SYA to fund a holiday to visit my daughter.

It was nice to see the $$$ but now I have to pay tax on the gains it’s not so much fun! :(

Apart from holding over 12 months to reduce the CGT payable I don’t have any answers either.

It’s a bit lame but I’d rather be making it and paying the tax than claiming a loss!

:)

SiDEvans,

Yes this bit made me laugh and cry simultaneously at the time.

Apparently if I wished to put through large orders , I would have to call them and disclose my intentions thay would then execute the trade.

Ummmmm.

I explained to the broker that I had no faith in the bank executing my trade before a possible larger client , or in favour of a larger client.

Yes one can sell large volumes , but I think you will find your broker will potentialy halt until thay have spoken to you, ... in which time the volume may have mysteriously been filled , moved or disappeared.

This has been my experience in the past.

Give your broker a call and have a good chat .

Esq.

Will do!

The games they play!

Have been reading the rules and surely 13.4.2 (g) does not allow them to block an order without reason. I do agree though that the way these are written pretty much allows them to do what they like.

I must say I haven't really ever thought of them as "my broker". I use the ANZ Trading platform and just click the buttons. Interacting with someone on the other end was never part of my thought process.

Hmmmnnn  I wonder what rules apply to shorters then, because item (b) would certainly come into play with them dumping millions of shares??

Yesterday's shorts were 726k. They are starting to short less everyday now. Was millions & multimillions until a few days ago.

BRN BRAINCHIP HOLDINGS LTD FPO 726,880 1,719,362,144 .04

Shortman says 76.6M shorted as of 1/8/2022.

The higher the better it is. Eventually they will get squeezed & SP will fly.

There are rules for many and then there are rules for others. I've stopped bothering. In the past I have taken screen shot and video of what I see as poor trading habits to manipulate the market. About 8 years ago I stopped bothering to trade as the rules that applied to me didn't for others. I had videos of me predicting what was going to happen then executing the trade and BAM suddenly a bid would jump in front of mine every time trying to get me to bid higher. Or the opposite, sell out and miraculously after no trades in a stock for 2 minutes when I hit sell, the buy line got wiped and I missed my trade. My bank wouldn't allow me to put a bid in as it was considered manipulating the market. Suddenly what i wanted to do was done by someone else, but they were allowed to?

The only reply I ever got was, thank you for your email we will look into this blah blah blah. When I followed it up they would reply that they don't divulge the outcome. That is why I stopped trading years ago. This is also why I will sit back watch the BS trading and wait for a reason to see where the SP heads. Happy weekend all.

Bravo

If ARM was an arm, BRN would be its biceps💪!
Nico Rosberg receives his Rimac Nevera “wow that’s a beast!”

At the 16.20 min mark approx they talk about a sensor that performs facial recognition, however the guide tells Nico that the problems is that when you want to use facial recognition it needs the super-computer to work and that it consumes a lot of energy, which is why they make it an option for customers to exclude it if they want to. He reckons the facial recognition only makes sense if you are going to use that function every day and not if you only drive the car once every month because it will drain the battery unless the car is plugged in.

Doesn't sound like they have incorporated AKIDA. May be someone could give them a buzz?

Surely though if you just sell down on market in sensible sized chunks the orders go through like run of the mill orders. Sure you may need to place numerous orders but eventually you sell. The issue must only occur when you try and place single big sell orders?
