BRN Discussion Ongoing

Thought this was worth getting a few educated opinions on.............

They say they've developed a new Nueral Net processor called GAP9. From what I can tell from the articles i've found, it's been in the works from at least 2019. But recently, the graphics have changed on the cpu layout..........uses milliwatts of power

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Had deep dive into their website including personnel and advertised positions and my view though I may be wrong is there is no one on staff with a background in the SNN technology. They mainly have a software background and a couple have worked extensively on compressing neural networks for use with Accelerators. Their device despite using the term programmable is limited to sound and any programming is done in advance based on the intended use. Not even in the extras on the AKIDA technology set.

My opinion only DYOR

Hi @Diogenese

I just have to tell the others that it is essential to go to the Brainchip SiFive thread and read your most recent post over there. Friends it is a beauty.

Published 45 mins ago. I wonder if Elon Musk and Herbert Diess also talked about Akida?

Since a Tesla car on 'Smart Summon' just crashed right into a 3 million dollar private jet, Elon might need some help to make his sensors a lot smarter in future.

Imagine walking meeting with a potential new customer and being able to say the above sentence.

Hi @Rocket577

Is this the one where he continues to ramble on about Brainchip is worth $1.50 a share. He is becoming a bit of a broken record.

I mean how believable is he when he does unpaid interviews in his own time about what an opportunity for investors Brainchip is. He is looking like just another excited member of the Brainchip fan club.

Despite his efforts at down ramping I still believe in my at least $2.75 by Christmas 2022.

Herbert Diess (CEO Volkswagen) will be joining TC Sessions: Mobility 2022 May 18 and May 19, for an online portion of the event during which is going to talk about the company’s pursuits in EVs and autonomous vehicle technology, to his thoughts on the newer competitors like Tesla and how it has affected VW Group, to plans for the future.

Should be VERRRRRYYYY interesting listening to him talk about software and future technology.

Elon, the rule is "If in doubt, STOP!", not "She'll be right".
That’s why he gets accolades from VW they both subscribe to the school of ‘if the numbers don’t add up change them to suit and hope they do by the time the public finds out’. 😂🤣

Techies think it is OK to sell phones that have faults while working on the problem and later send out a patch (with a pro-rata refund for the period you did not have the feature you paid for - sorry a late April fools joke) well Elon has carried that over to his EV’s. The only difference is your phone is unlikely to kill you while you are using it while their working on a patch.

PS: Could it be that the reason Rob Telson is so excited is that this is the first time in his long career that a chip he is selling actually does from point of purchase everything written on the box.

I said it yesterday and I’ll keep repeating it.

My opinion is that our involvement with Valeo which will be incorporated into Mercedes Benz will be our first significant income source.

Thanks TLS for posting this as it again shows Mercedes Drive Pilot. Just yesterday there was a video from Valeo showing how the Lidar is incorporated into the system. I’ve posted Valeo’s 5 year plan numerous times which is full of solid gold nuggets. Valeo make $20 billion a year and have an agreement with us. Our strength is Lidar. Mercedes is stating ”they’re offering this world-leading technology to our customers in Germany in the first half of 2022.”

The path to success has been laid out in front of us all, we just have to have the patients to let Brainchip do their thing and follow it!

It still hasn’t been formally confirmed but in my head it’s a done deal!

Peace!

Didn't he say an explosion in sales, not an explosion in revenue? But the revenue will follow, just not immediately . . .
... but will the sales nullify the NDAs?

The Great Depression was caused by trickle down economics. A very rich American pretty much bought himself the presidency and lowered taxes substantially for the rich. He wasn't in power when the GD hit but was the major cause. Every time this has been tried it has turned out badly. I think a big recession in the 70s was because of the same thing. So along comes the Don and does the same and Scotty from marketing thinks it is a great idea. The time that Bill Clinton actually raised taxes for the rich and only marginally I might add turned around the American economy. But apparently we don't learn from our mistakes.

Hi Proga,

Valeo
i am very excited about the prospect of Akida being used with Valeo’s sensors. We know for a fact they have an agreement. What that agreement is for is still subject to an NDA. We know “Lidar is Akida’s sweet spot.”

We know Valeo have stated they intend (and I suggest) have already started making 3 bilion sensors over the next 5 years.

It’s all in their financial and strategic presentation I have posted numerous times because I think it is a very important document for Brainchips short term future. https://www.valeo.com/wp-content/up...eUp_Strategic_Financial_Outlook_2022-2025.pdf

If you haven’t read the presentation it has some very impressive figures included :)

In the Valeo document is the following image which is labelled:

Application software: Mobileye, Qualcomm, Nvidia
Core software: (basis and middleware) Autosar
Software Foundary: (Toolchain) AWS, Microsoft. Interestingly those two were also in an image with SiFive posted by DIO today.

1650700057777.jpeg

So the above images are relative to the software. My opinion is that Akida will form part of the hardware making the numerous sensors smart.

It’s common knowledge Valeo are part of Mercedes Drive Pilot. Their latest video from their CTO has him pointing at their lidar in the grill of the car. It’s obviously a very important part of the system because it offers unique technology which is a key part heading towards autonomous driving.

My take on it is that just like you need different ingrediants to bake a cake you need different software/hardware for autonomous vehicles.

I offer no guarantees but I believe Akida is the secret sauce!

Cheers.

Completely agree mate. I was talking to my old mans best mate who is a prominent financial advisor/stock analyst. I rang him to discuss brainchip and he had never heard of them..he took one look and wasn’t interested. The big boys are still on the sidelines when it comes to BRN so the real fun will begin once our revenue substantially increases

He that shall live this day, and see old age
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say ‘To-morrow is Akida 1k.’
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his bling,
And say ‘These knickknacks I had on 'kida’s day.’

Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words,
Fact Finder, Uiux and the poster formerly known as Manchild,
Dolci and Bravo, Slade and PigsMightyFart,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember’d

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that holds his shares with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:

And gentlemen in ASX now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That bought with us upon 'kida 1k day.

Down the Rabbit Hole !
Nvidia + Brainchip thru Quantum Corp,

April 19, 2022

Quantum to Showcase Video Enrichment and Analytics Solution Using CatDV Software with NVIDIA AI at NAB 2022

“Quantum CatDV has been leveraging NVIDIA GPU systems for years as part of our media transformation implementations. With this solution, customers can now add NVIDIA’s world-class, proven AI and ML technologies to their content workflows. The solution serves as a centralized platform to enable users to find the hidden value in content libraries and amplify human curation like never before,”

This solution gives customers an on-premises alternative to cloud-delivered AI services that fully utilizes high-performance GPU hardware in a proven asset management and automation platform. Customers can automate common content-tagging and enhancement tasks such as object recognition within video frames, speech-to-text transcription, video and audio super-resolution, and other tools to add valuable metadata to video and image files, saving time and money, and unlocking hidden value in their media content libraries.

This enhanced video enrichment capability was first demonstrated at NVIDIA GTC in March, with an example of a sports broadcaster challenge: find all instances of referee yellow cards across hundreds of hours of soccer footage. Once objects or actions within video frames were identified, this content was then compiled into a ‘supercut’ within CatDV, with fully indexed and correlated timeline markers for human expert review, saving potentially hundreds of hours of work.

At GTC 2022, NVIDIA named Quantum as an inaugural partner in the NVIDIA AI Accelerated Program, which helps developers build AI applications that customers can deploy with confidence,” said Kari Briski, vice president of software product management, AI and HPC SDKs, NVIDIA. “Quantum’s customers will be able to enjoy world-class AI and ML with this new content enrichment automation solution, powered by NVIDIA.

The Quantum AI content enhancement automation solution is comprised of:

  • Quantum CatDV Enterprise with CatDV Automation Workers
  • AI/ML integration based on NVIDIA DeepStream video analytics, NVIDIA Riva automatic speech recognition and text-to-speech technology, and NVIDIA Maxine video and audio quality enhancement SDKs
  • NVIDIA A2 Tensor Core GPU infrastructure pipeline integration for Quantum CatDV proxy generation, transcoding, and AI acceleration
  • Additional optional custom AI/ML development to meet customer needs or to enable customer’s development teams on the common platform
  • Quantum StorNext shared file storage environment integration
  • Optional Quantum NVMe storage to accelerate content movement within the GPU pipeline
  • Optional Quantum archive to Quantum ActiveScale, Quantum Scalar tape, or S3-compatible storage

Quantum says that StorNext is the world’s fastest file system for video workloads.

Brainchip + Quantum

This from Jan 30 2019 ( BRN update )

Quantum Corporation continues to market BrainChip Studio to their customers in two primary vertical markets, which are Media and Entertainment (M&E) and Surveillance. § The Company will visit several major M&E production companies with Quantum during the first quarter of 2019. § In surveillance, the joint sales effort is currently pursuing a Smart City project in Asia.

Fun Fact:
Louis DiNardo was once on the Board of Quantum Corp.

Have not heard much about the Quantum/Brainchip relationship over the past couple of years, but I'm assuming they continue to work together in the background now that everything has gone super secret squirrel !

So the NAB show in Vegas over the next 4 days may be worth keeping an eye on,

The thing I worry about, if I worry at all about my investment in Brainchip, is that I am an older investor and like Warren Buffet suspicious of technology as I did not grow up with it and unlike my children still have trouble with many aspects. For the life of me I cannot reset the clock on our Bosch oven after a blackout but my son-in-law does it while talking about something unrelated in seconds.

So it does seem logical to me that the retail investor most likely to actually best grasp the technology on offer from Brainchip are the millennials as they are paid up educated members of the technology age.

They understand technology and can recognise when it is more advanced and are constantly critiquing the latest mobile phones, lap tops, iPads, PC's, movie channel interphases, the NBN fibre -v- wireless, the interphases in the latest Porsche or Jaguar and feel so comfortable with Google and their ability to research they do not need financial advisors who in most cases are far less well educated and technology savvy than themselves.

Only this last week we had to have a service on our gas log fire. The gas plumber arrived and by appearances he was a millennial. He lays out his rug undoes a few screws and reveals the workings of the fire. Out of his tool bag comes his pad and he hooks up a couple of wires then engages in an analysis of the system, identifies the faults and carries out the necessary service then tests the system with the pad. He then prepares the invoice on the pad takes the payment via my credit card on the pad and then emails me the receipt and warranty.

I go to my mechanic again he looks just like a millennial and he hooks my various cars up to his computer and off he goes running the diagnostics.

My plumber in the country when he sets up to install septic system lines is out with his computer driven level taking device and in seconds has his readings taken. He too looks like a millennial.

These are all trades people before we even get to those who work in offices, laboratories and what about C.A.D. systems used by drafts people, architects and builders. It just goes on and on millennials live and breath technology every day of their working and private lives.

Yet when millennials identify that a technology stock which they understand is worthy of investing in use the technology of modern communication to discuss and recommend that stock to other millennials they are abused by so called financial advisors and analysts who are WANCA's and have just like me no idea how to set the clock on their oven at home.

These same WANCA's have, I guarantee just like me used Google to find sites where these same millennials have reviewed the latest iPhone or Samsung and taken their advice as to which is the best phone to purchase.

I have reached a point where I think that on the scale that ranks professions and has at or near the bottom used car salesman these individual WANCA's would clearly have to be placed even lower down.

My opinion only DYOR
