Would agree @TECH

Something a little diff.

I looked back at the original LDA Ann and we didn't go into a TH then. Just the Financing Ann released, simple.

Cause they want an orderly mkt, as does the ASX as per their guidelines, it suggests to me the TH is in place should any 1000 eyes sniff something out somewhere or some broker slips out some info somewhere to a client and out it gets.

Seen that previously, where sometimes broker clients etc get some tidbits and it gets out there.

Being in TH cancels out any buy / sell on whispers and a disorderly mkt.

That and if this is something out of left field / unexpected then BRN would need a TH to ensure no info got out either from the other party(ies).
I don't think this has anything to do with brokers or so called sophisticated "my arse" investors, as somebody would have heard something (at the crapper at least)..

The details of this CR, will be very telling, as to where we are at.

Either way, we get more cash for Time to success.

But it will be a bit of an indication, of "how much" Time we need.

Anything involving a "discount" to the current "market" price and we'd better stretch our legs and get more comfortable in our seats.

Speaking of brokers, my LBB compiled from the doors of public lavs has a surprising number of brokers.

Is BrainChip Holdings (ASX:BRN) In A Good Position To Deliver On Growth Plans?

editorial-team@simplywallst.com (Simply Wall St)
Mon, Jun 10, 2024 3 min read

In This Article:
We can readily understand why investors are attracted to unprofitable companies. For example, although Amazon.com made losses for many years after listing, if you had bought and held the shares since 1999, you would have made a fortune. But while history lauds those rare successes, those that fail are often forgotten; who remembers Pets.com?
Given this risk, we thought we'd take a look at whether BrainChip Holdings (ASX:BRN) shareholders should be worried about its cash burn. For the purposes of this article, cash burn is the annual rate at which an unprofitable company spends cash to fund its growth; its negative free cash flow. First, we'll determine its cash runway by comparing its cash burn with its cash reserves.
Check out our latest analysis for BrainChip Holdings

Does BrainChip Holdings Have A Long Cash Runway?

A company's cash runway is calculated by dividing its cash hoard by its cash burn. When BrainChip Holdings last reported its December 2023 balance sheet in February 2024, it had zero debt and cash worth US$14m. Looking at the last year, the company burnt through US$18m. So it had a cash runway of approximately 10 months from December 2023. That's quite a short cash runway, indicating the company must either reduce its annual cash burn or replenish its cash. You can see how its cash balance has changed over time in the image below.

How Is BrainChip Holdings' Cash Burn Changing Over Time?

Whilst it's great to see that BrainChip Holdings has already begun generating revenue from operations, last year it only produced US$232k, so we don't think it is generating significant revenue, at this point. Therefore, for the purposes of this analysis we'll focus on how the cash burn is tracking. With the cash burn rate up 28% in the last year, it seems that the company is ratcheting up investment in the business over time. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but investors should be mindful of the fact that will shorten the cash runway. BrainChip Holdings makes us a little nervous due to its lack of substantial operating revenue. We prefer most of the stocks on this list of stocks that analysts expect to grow.

How Hard Would It Be For BrainChip Holdings To Raise More Cash For Growth?

Since its cash burn is moving in the wrong direction, BrainChip Holdings shareholders may wish to think ahead to when the company may need to raise more cash. Companies can raise capital through either debt or equity. Many companies end up issuing new shares to fund future growth. By comparing a company's annual cash burn to its total market capitalisation, we can estimate roughly how many shares it would have to issue in order to run the company for another year (at the same burn rate).
BrainChip Holdings' cash burn of US$18m is about 6.4% of its US$275m market capitalisation. That's a low proportion, so we figure the company would be able to raise more cash to fund growth, with a little dilution, or even to simply borrow some money.

So, Should We Worry About BrainChip Holdings' Cash Burn?

On this analysis of BrainChip Holdings' cash burn, we think its cash burn relative to its market cap was reassuring, while its cash runway has us a bit worried. Even though we don't think it has a problem with its cash burn, the analysis we've done in this article does suggest that shareholders should give some careful thought to the potential cost of raising more money in the future. Separately, we looked at different risks affecting the company and spotted 4 warning signs for BrainChip Holdings (of which 3 shouldn't be ignored!) you should know about.

Arm should also update the presentation 🤔

How we trading in Germany today?

Nice to see Arduino have done some recent (June) firmware updates to their Portenta X8 allowing NPU integrations via PCIe.

Is this update inclusion driven by Arduino client requests?

Are we seeing little green shoots in industry with some now looking to provide Akida integration / support to their own products?

Latest Firmware Version: 861 (Release arduino-91.2)

Release Date: June 26, 2024

The listing herein offers a glimpse into the Portenta X8 firmware's continuous improvement and enhancement. You can expect a concise overview of the integrated key new features, major bug fixes, and critical security patches to ensure the highest level of functionality and performance within the Portenta X8 system.

New Features:

  • Added support for Akida Brainchip PCIe module in NPU.
  • Added support for Hailo 8R PCIe module in NPU.
  • Support for new panel modules and touchscreen controllers jadard-ek79202d and atmel-mxt-ts in MIPI-DSI

Arduino Portenta X8

An industrial-grade hybrid combination of microprocessor and microcontroller board by Arduino capable of simultaneously and securely running Linux apps and perform real-time tasks.

Problem/Solution

Microcontrollers have the power to control a wide variety of machines, including life-support systems, spacecraft, aircraft, and even mobile phones. It is integrated into a system and manages a single function by deciphering data received and taking appropriate actions. A more powerful and customized microcontroller is required as the complexity and functionality of the device increases.

The production of specialized microcontrollers for unique devices is time and money inefficient. But microcontroller hardware and software now see a better route—thanks to open-source software. Numerous developers from all around the world supply these license-free codes that are not only available but also flexible enough, allowing users to modify them for the desired function.

Designed to power the future generation of the Industrial Internet of Things, Arduino Portenta X8 has a high-performing system banked on a modular container architecture. This industrial-grade system-on-module (SOM) has the Linux OS preloaded onboard that allows device-independent software to run. With two industrial products put into one and a power of no less than 9 cores, X8 offers usage flexibility of Linux mixed with real-time applications. It combines Linux-embedded NXP® i.MX 8M Mini hosting with STM32H7, leveraging Arduino libraries and skills. X8 has Wi-Fi/Bluetooth® Low Energy connectivity, promoting the secure performance of OS/application OTA updates.
