Something I don't really understand.

If a small electronic/space company wants to buy say 1000 pcs Alkida 2 chips for own in-house development, how do they do it?

I read somewhere that you can buy the 1.0 but not 2?

Most companies will not be interested in buying an IP unless they sell/develop chips themselves but I could be wrong.

When we run out, we'll refer them to Megachips who have a version in 22nm FDSOI (fully depleted silicon on insulator).

FDSOI is more efficient than vanilla CMOS because it has less loss.

Was that graphic already commented on? OHB is not a household name … it might become one soon.

At least one forum member appears to have found @Berlinforever ’s post so ridiculous he/she/they felt the need to comment with a 🤣?! 🤔

While OHB may not end up becoming a household name in the general public, the emoji poster(s) seem(s) to totally underestimate the parent company’s reputation and significance within the aerospace industry sector: OHB SE (the multinational space and technology group that wholly owns OHB Hellas) is actually one of Europe’s leading space tech companies, headquartered in Bremen, Germany, which is not only well-known for the fairy tale The Town Musicians of Bremen, but also happens to be one of Europe’s hubs for the aeronautics and space industry.

I recommend the Doubting Thomas(es) (and everyone else) to have a look at OHB’s image brochure

their latest corporate report

as well as their website (https://www.ohb.de/en/corporate/milestones) to see how Christa Fuchs, her late husband Manfred Fuchs and their team “turned the small hydraulics company OHB into a global player in the international space industry.” The initialism OHB originally stood for “Otto Hydraulik Bremen” - in 1991 it was officially renamed “Orbital- und Hydrotechnologie Bremen-System GmbH”.

They are right up there with Europe’s aerospace giants Airbus Defence & Space (formerly Astrium) and Thales Alenia Space, fiercely bidding to secure contracts for satellites etc (OHB lost out to both Airbus D&S and Thales Alenia Space in securing the contract for the now ongoing construction of the second generation (G2) of Galileo satellites, after they had been the main supplier for the first generation (https://www.reuters.com/technology/...about-galileo-satellites-contract-2023-04-26/).
At other times, however, they also collaborate with their main competitors (https://www.ohb.de/en/news/esas-pla...stem-ag-readies-for-integration-of-26-cameras).

In 2018, the Hanseatic city of Bremen even renamed the square in front of the company’s headquarters in honour of Manfred Fuchs (1938-2014), to commemorate the engineer and entrepreneur’s significant contribution to the development of the aerospace industry in Bremen.

Being a household name is not necessarily part of what defines a successful global player. Just think of Arm (especially before the IPO).

We as BRN shareholders should always keep that in mind…

Yes sorry - I was half asleep.

That could be right - it seems there is a mysterious customer (or group of customers) upon whose toes we wish not to tread.

If we cancelled tapeout of Akida 2, then it may be that someone quite large is doing it under NDA - remember "Loose lips sink ships".

Good Morning Frangipani ,

Intense sleuthing as per usual.

Have yet to run up some revised numbers on our four additions to the BRN ecosystem , though OBH has in my view added an additional $0.048 AU to each free floated BRN share.

I'll endeavour to produce a revised BRN share price tomorrow , reflecting the four additions , since the last was on 19 /2/2024.

Regards,
Esq.

Thank you for that post. I was not in the mind space of thinking we pulled our production of the V2 chip because a big player or multiple may have requested we don’t.

So if that is so, Tech’s prediction of some serious announcements prior to Dec may be on the money.

I would predict we see more $1m fees and associated announcements for new comers unless Megachip are behind it. Or an adjustment to Renesas licence if they have stepped up.

Yip interesting times ahead. Let’s hope this Aussie battler company helps a whole heap of Swiss, German, Aussie and other nationalities TSE holders rise from battlers to at least Captains and in some members cases Ogliarch’s cruising the open seas.

May Peter’s vision translate to our good fortune. 💙

CHIPS for America Teaming Partner List

A line drawing of people sitting at a table in the shape of a light bulb

Credit: Adobe Stock
CHIPS for America is making available a teaming partner list that will enable entities to share information, foster collaboration, and advance shared goals. This list allows entities to share their contact information and capabilities so that potential applicants can reach out and consider utilizing their expertise to advance the CHIPS Act’s objectives.

Fill out this form to be added to the CHIPS for America Teaming Partner List.
Click here to access the CHIPS for America Teaming Partner List. This Excel sheet can be filtered by organization type, area of service, and other fields (updated February 22, 2024).

Since there are many entities interested in supporting the CHIPS Act that may not be eligible to apply on their own, the Department of Commerce is making it easier to facilitate potential partnerships and collaboration that can advance economic and national security interests.

This list includes businesses that may not qualify as covered entities under the CHIPS funding opportunities, as well as organizations that provide support services relevant to the execution of the CHIPS incentives program. These entities can include educational and workforce training providers; childcare providers; organizations that engage or support minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned businesses; community-based organizations; labor unions; and others. This list does not directly connect entities to potential applicants, but enables external entities to explore potential strategic partnerships.

The CHIPS Program Office is not endorsing, sponsoring, or otherwise evaluating the qualifications of the entities and organizations that have self-identified for placement on the list. Entities seeking to utilize the list are advised to conduct their own due diligence of any entity they contact.

A method for an unsupervised training of a neural network, the method comprises:
initializing a neural network that exhibits at least one invariance;
performing multiple training iterations until reaching a last training iteration in which a stop condition is fulfilled;
wherein each training iteration except the last training iteration comprises: processing a vast number of media units by the neural network to provide media unit signatures;
finding that the stop condition is not reached, and changing multiple neural network weights;
wherein the stop condition is related to signatures similarities

There are some new articles about "Autobrain" and their new "Liquid AI":

"Autobrains develops Liquid AI for unexpected driving scenarios

With Liquid AI, Autobrains has introduced a new AI technology that addresses three challenges: Edge Cases, Cost and the lack of interaction between Perception and Decision-Making.

Liquid AI combines Autobrains' self-learning approach with a modular and adaptive architecture that uses specialized, scenario-based end-to-end networks. "While current technologies perform well in handling conventional driving tasks, they fail in edge cases, unexpected driving scenarios that require special precision. By using our Liquid AI, car manufacturers can close their AI gaps," explains Igal Raichelgauz, founder and CEO of Autobrains.
Overcoming challenges

Today's AI systems reach their limits in edge cases. The countless possible, unexpected driving scenarios are practically unsolvable tasks for these systems. Today's manually trained black box systems lack the ability to recognize special cases. Attempts to solve this problem by feeding the systems with more manually labeled images lead to a loss of traceability and control.
High costs

Tackling real-world driving problems by bloating existing systems with more data, labels, layers and computing resources leads to increased costs and power consumption. For example, to achieve a significant improvement in system accuracy by a factor of ten, 10,000 times more computing resources are required.
Decoupling perception and decision-making

The lack of interaction between perception and decision-making functions also hinders effective and precise decision-making. In order for artificial intelligence to make optimal driving decisions, it needs specific information. However, if details are missing or too complex, precision is impaired, leading to incorrect reactions.
The human brain as a model

The Israeli company is basing its approach on the capabilities of the human brain. This consists of specialized areas that resemble a task-specific, simply structured end-to-end AI. Just as the brain adapts its architecture depending on context - for example, to light and weather conditions, the environment and relevant road users - Liquid AI follows the same approach.

How it works

Liquid AI consists of hundreds of thousands of specialized AI systems (skills), each developed for specific tasks and enabling precise reactions tailored to the respective driving scenario. This specialized AI approach enables scalability ranging from tens to hundreds of skills for ADAS systems, to thousands of skills for higher levels of automated driving, to hundreds of thousands of skills for autonomous driving. In addition, the solution has an adaptive architecture. In contrast to fixed systems, the architecture adapts dynamically to the driving task and only activates relevant modules as required. This significantly reduces power consumption and computing requirements, which leads to cost savings for the SoCs, among other things."

Now look at what my Google search on “Brainchip Akida” dug up from the depths of the internet:

06A063F9-7654-4A8C-AF95-CDFB0C40DAA7.jpeg

The link looked pretty dodgy to me, so I didn’t click on it. Instead, I did another Google search, this time on “C-Leg 4, Kenovo, Genium and Genium X3”, and it turns out they are all microprocessor-controlled knee prostheses by German orthopaedic technology company Ottobock, which according to Wikipedia (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottobock) is considered “the world market leader in the field of prosthetics and one of the leading suppliers in orthotics, wheelchairs and exoskeletons.”

5F60AF9E-BC38-4CDE-B1F4-9D20EB42CDCE.jpeg

These microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knee joints have been on the market for many years now (the C-Leg was the world’s first in 1997, followed by the first generations of Genium (2011) Genium X3 (2013) and Kenovo (2015), with model updates since), but maybe Ottobock figured it was time for an ultra-low power upgrade?! 🤔

A quick search did not yield any (other) connections between Ottobock and Brainchip, so I am not sure whether this is a valid dot join or possibly some GenAI’s hallucination 😂 (would anyone like to volunteer to click on that link?!).

Employing neuromorphic technology as a means of restoring tactile sensation is definitely something the bionic limbs industry is extremely interested in (not to mention the affected patients!), and of course research of that kind is already being conducted at universities (see the paper below, which @Sirod69 shared with us two months ago), so chances are, the world market leader in prosthetics will have already checked out the available providers of this promising tech and possibly play around with less complicated use cases first.

Progress with tradition

Ottobock sets standards

For more than 100 years, Ottobock develops innovative products. Meanwhile, the med-tech company also takes care of the full treatment cycle all over the globe. These services are provided under the Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA name, which began in 2018 to channel the company’s med-tech expertise also into sustainably healthy workplaces.

We continually develop our company and perfect our technology to improve the lives of our users. In 2022, we invested 7% of our turnover in research and development.

Since 1919 products and technologies from Ottobock have been helping people gain new freedom of movement and avoid potential complications. Initially, the company revolutionised the market – above all treatment for patients – thanks to the series production of prosthetic components. Since then, the focus has turned to microprocessor-controlled knee joints such as the C-Leg (which can be controlled via an app), the computer-controlled C-Brace leg orthosis, the multi-articulating bebionic hand, Juvo power wheelchairs and the Paexo exoskeleton range for ergonomic workplaces.

Our single-minded determination to improve quality of life has made us a global leader in technology for wearable human bionics, which enhance or replace parts of the human body.

In numbers

Wondering what the average amount of shares people hold.
And also I am thinking do I hold enough

What’s the idea amount one should hold

What’s the amount that will see amazing growth moving forward
The ideal amount is directly related to your age and appetite for risk..

"Those who are younger can tolerate more risk, but they often have less income to invest. Those who near retirement may have more money to invest, but less time to recover from any losses. Asset allocation by age plays an important role in building a sound retirement investing strategy".

I "reckon" if you have 100000 shares and you're in your 20's you're going to do quite well.

If you're in your 30's or 40's, 2 to 300 thousand.

50's to 60's, 400 thousand and above.

But it all depends on how successful this Company becomes and how many shares you still own..

There will be many, who would be wise, to never let their kids know, that they "used" to be shareholders in this Company, if it lives up to its potential (which is a dirty word).

Best keep that sort a thing a deep dark secret 🤣...

Hey, just my opinion..

Hallo Doris,

direkter Link zum MB-Event auf der BRN Website - nice find

Hi Krustor,

IMO that link - which originally connected to the MB Jan 3, 2022 press release titled Vision EQXX - taking electric range and efficiency to an entirely new level
(now to be found under https://media.mbusa.com/releases/re...range-and-efficiency-to-an-entirely-new-level) - simply links to the general Mercedes media/press release page, so it also happens to link to that ESG Conference 2024 livestream these days. It’s not a deliberate link by Brainchip to that particular event on March 20.

Schönen Abend noch,
Frangipani
