Same for me, I probably send too much time because it is such an easy rabbit hole to disappear down.
You will know all the names operating in this space but for others reading this my usual go to guys are Ben Bikman and Robert Lustig.

How to relate this to Akida?

Rates of metabolic illness are skyrocketing. In the 1980s it was estimated there were around 30 million people with type 2 diabetes, today that number is estimated at 460 million. As our health gets worse I can see wearable health trackers like continuous glucose monitors becoming very popular. Not everyone reacts to food the same way, 2 people could eat the same meal and have different blood sugar levels afterward. Knowing what foods to avoid is a good start.

Lustig sees value in cgm but says they don't tell enough of the story. What you need is a device that can measure insulin levels instead as that would show how efficiently the insulin is working.

Big food and pharma will protect their turf to maintain the status quo. Money to be made out of human misery.

I think wearables will do well.

Can't go wrong with red wine, cheese, meat (not too much fat), eggs and milk. Limit junk food to weekends. A good beer helps the blood and the heart (in moderation, and not getting wasted more than once a week). Important to stay hydrated. Plus a 30 mins walk each day. The trouble is people get lazy. Follow this and you will live to enjoy the fruits of your BrainChip investment.

I thought I would appeal to the independent arbiter:

Well it looks like we were both mistaken - after all, when is a computer ever wrong?!

It is true that an industrial robot will have power laid on, so it does not need Akida's parsimonious power usage, whereas the wearable glucose meter does.

The glucose meter needs to be trained, whereas the robot learns. I doubt that the glucose meter uses ML, because the models would need to be verified in the lab, and ad hoc changes would not have FDA approval.

So there are arguments both ways, so I'm going with the Scottish courts - not proven.

The computers version of what was said is extremely deficient.

For example the word 'handled' which you have emboldened is absolutely without any doubt pronounced by the speaker as "hand held" which makes absolute sense as to be of patient value this device needs to be completely transportable and capable of being carried in a pocket or bag so that the patient can monitor their sugar levels 24/7 no matter where they are at the time be they in a car, on a train, in a plane, camping in the Kimberley, caving in the Blue Mountains or a kilometre underground working in the mining industry. It also needs to function without connection for extended periods and have reliable batter life.

This device is never described as being wearable by the speaker the computer has run together two different applications.

If these guys are not using AKIDA technology Edge Impulse is not looking after them properly.

This is a sensational find.

It is a definite MUST WATCH if for no other reason than to hear the presenter describe Brainchip’s AKIDA as SCIENCE FICTION.

Also I think but it is a little unclear because of his use of English that he has disclosed that Brainchip has been adopted by a company called Know Labs for Glucose monitoring in a hand held device.

I would like others to look/listen to this part of the presentation which comes following AKIDA where he speaks about already disclosed Edge Impulse customers.

I have listened on my phone twice and believe this to be the only reasonable conclusion as to the neuromorphic computing company he is referring to being Brainchip. But as I say care is needed because of the way he uses English language.

Hi FF yes it was amazing to watch I will be watching it again as in the morning getting ready for work takes priority and cant focus enough to know all the details. what i like about what he said was Akida in complex or something which mean it can solves complex issues right and then he popped Rob Presentation about Merc which was like yeah .

I read somewhere that some of the exclusionary diets can leave the consumer short of essential nutrients (EN), so I designed an EN ready-reckoner which correlates the foods consumed with the ENs so that missing ENs can be readily identified.

Surprisingly (to me), it is possible to design a diet with a handful of ingredients which will supply all the ENs.

And some of our listeners will be pleased to know that that short list can include wine.
I may, as is usual for me, just be missing sarcasm and answering to a rhetorical post. I can't see the expression on your face and so need to take what you say on face-less value, and hence believe you are being sincere.

That seems like a lot of work @Diogenese, does it have the ability to be tailored to the individual needs of the user, weight, height age, gender, etc.? And especially does it cater for people with chronic illness and allergies? Or is it just for yourself? I already have two, free, android apps that do that for me, so you may have wasted a lot of effort and time.

A lifestyle change to a restrictive diet could very well deplete essential nutrient. Of that there is now doubt. But interestingly, this is not the case for extended fasts. Plus an extended fast does have an end.

Even with an extended fast of more than say 7 days, you just need to make sure you get enough electrolytes - Magnesium, Potassium and Sodium. No vitamin supplements are needed, just these essential salts that cannot be replaced from stores in the body. And no, a 7 day fast is not excessive, our bodies thrive under that condition.

WRT wine—I enjoy a drink as with many of you. I could easily drink to excess, and drink every day, but chose not to. No matter how you look at it, alcohol is toxic to the liver and each regular glass of wine contains about 130cal. And all wines contain carbs. But in moderation, yes, most restrictive diets can handle a few glasses of wine. Type is important though. Best are dry varieties.

Certain spirits are better for carb counting, but potentially worse for the liver due to more alcohol. Zero carb, low cal beers are fine too. But even these do have calories. And hence can't be consumed on a fast—only water and black, unsweetened tea or coffee, and clear broths if you are desperate (such as bone broth).

Fat is the best part of meat, it is where all the vitamins are and it adds so much flavour. One could say it is the "sly" part of the "meat". Why cut it off?

The theory that animal fat makes people fat or contributes to heart attacks has been debunked completely.

Animal fat, along with eggs, have long been taken off the naughty list.

The most astounding take-away, in hind-sight is that he claimed:

akida IP is for complex systems, where you have many different trained neural networks working together - Akida will sort out which trained network to consult in any given circumstance to give you the answer.
This is what we have discussed in the past - Akida will be good for everyone (NVIDIA, Apple etc etc) because it will integrate all the NN's.

This may also explain why it is taking BRN some time to announcements - we need to wait for the other NN's to be created and trained. Then Akida comes to the rescue and integrates them all.

This is why Mercedes is so important for us. The MB.OS ( whatever it's called) must have akida because it will integrate disparate signals from driver's eyes to failing braking squeals. Once the world has seen how and why it works, others will follow.

In my youth, Toyota always closely followed mercedes. ( I drove an old Crown for many years). I wish Lexus would, again.
Agree, that was impressive. AKIDA can do several things at once. That plus power savings impressed Merc. In EV's power savings are paramount as it affects how far you can travel. on a charge and every bit helps.
Mercedes with Stellantis and Saft owns ACC which is planning many Gigafactories, the first being in France. This will give us access to FIAT, ALPA ROMEO, Chrysler, Citreon, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep, Lancia, Masserati, DS Automobiles, OPEL, Peugeot, RAM and Vauxhall all controlled by Stellantis.
So via Mercedes we have access to huge potential revenue.
No doubt BRN is putting a fair bit into the Merc connection. If the BRN team play their cards to a 'tee' we could basically almost stitch up the EU - given power is at a premium in the EU at the moment and the future. From there..............?
