The Government encouraged to do everything possible for economic growth of 8% in 2023

Despite the difficult economic context marked in particular by the continuation of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the aggression suffered by the Democratic Republic of Congo by its neighbor Rwanda, the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, encouraged the Government to spare no effort to achieve economic growth of 8% in 2023 as projected by the staff of the International Monetary Fund.

The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, made this known during the ninetieth meeting of the Council of Ministers, held on Friday March 10, 2022.

"Faced with the favorable outlook expected in 2023, the President of the Republic encouraged the Government to spare no effort to support economic recovery, strengthen the resilience of our economy, preserve the purchasing power of Congolese by upgrading our national currency against foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar.

This, in order to materialize the economic growth projected by the services of the International Monetary Fund at 8%, despite the context of aggression of the country by Rwanda, and the persistence of the repercussions of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which continue to disrupt African and global supply chains and drive up food prices, said Congolese Government Spokesman Patrick Muyaya.

According to the Congolese President, the strategies proposed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), which moreover align with the actions of the Congolese Government, should help the country achieve this ambition.

In its report, the AfDB suggests the continuation of the accelerated implementation of structural reforms aimed at strengthening the industrialization of the private sector supported by the Government in key sectors, such as: agriculture and agro-industry, smart energy transitions in the face of climate degradation, the development of natural resource value chains, in particular those of minerals as means of accelerating the economic growth of the DRC.

Development program for 145 territories: More than $700 million mobilized for the construction of 2,200 structures (Min a.i du Plan)

During the press briefing on Tuesday March 14, 2023, in Kinshasa, the ad interim Minister of Planning, Christian Mbadu, indicated that the Congolese government has already mobilized more than 700 million US dollars, i.e. nearly 50% of the financing of the Grassroots development program for 145 territories in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

''To date, the government has already mobilized and secured USD 762 million, or almost 50%, of the funding for the Program and the implementing agencies have already received USD 511.0 million for the first component of the programme'' , said the acting Minister of the Plan.

According to him, this first component consists of the construction of 2,200 works including 1,210 schools, 788 health centers and 145 territorial administrative buildings.

In addition, the Minister of Planning revealed that the government has also disbursed 12 million USD for feasibility studies on the rehabilitation and maintenance of 38,000 km of agricultural desert roads and 440 works of art.

Initiated by the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, the Development Program of 145 territories wants to initiate the development of the Democratic Republic of Congo from the base.

It takes into account 4 sectors of life, namely: water and electricity, health, education and agricultural service roads.

Priorities 2023: Financial agencies sign performance contracts

The financial agencies of the DRC sign performance contracts with the government.

Also, they agree to redouble their efforts to go beyond their assignments during the year 2023.

It was during a ceremony of presentation of the 2022 performance, chaired by the Prime Minister, Jean Michel Sama Lukonde, in the presence of some members of the government including the Minister of Finance, Nicolas Kazadi, and members of the Cabinet of the chief of the state.

"I would like to thank all the executives of the Ministry of Finance for the effort provided, especially at the level of financial agencies throughout 2022 in order to provide the government with the means of its policy.

This testifies to your commitment to strengthen the resilience of our country in the face of the multiple challenges which it is called to meet.

I can only invite you to maintain the course and thus allow, through your work, the improvement of the living conditions of our populations in a strong, prosperous and united state, "said the Prime Minister.

Sama Lukonde issued the wish to see the financial agencies as well as all the other services of the Ministry of Finance redoubled efforts in 2023 to exceed the historic record of 2022 in terms of mobilization of revenues.

Confident to the press at the end of this ceremony, the Director General of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), Barnabé Mwakadi, encouraged the Congolese population to correctly pay the tax in order to give the government the means of its policy .

“He asked us to make more efforts.

We reassure that we have a duty to do everything to keep the course, or even really exceed the assignments they have given us.

It is true that there is a little difficulty.

We ask the government to support us in order to grant us the means that can allow us to manage VAT well.

Today, VAT enriches the collectors, so we ask the government to rely with software that will allow us to manage this VAT well, "he said.

And to the DID DIRECTOR OF THE DGI to add: "We are very concerned about granting the Warriors to the government a lot of revenues so that he can do his policy.

The people must really pay their tax correctly.

It is we who give government the means to do its policy.

If a people cannot pay their taxes well, the government will do absolutely nothing, "said the CEO of the DGI.

At the end of this ceremony, the Prime Minister awarded some prices to the financial agencies that distinguished themselves in terms of performance in the mobilization of revenues, by going beyond assignments.

Even the Dalai Lama is laughing his head off :ROFLMAO: I wonder if he knows what the Chinese will get

I've been keeping an eye on THE VUKA GROUP who are organising the DRC MINING WEEK events in June and September, and I see that Zigin's Kamoa Copper has an Advisory Board Member speaking at the June event in Kinshasa and their Kamoa-Kakula Copper Mine is a Platinum sponsor.

If @Spikerama hasn't had any feedback from Jens following his round of golf, it would be good to up the Twitter and TSE wave of information on corruption.... One thing about Cong, Zigin, and their puppets in the DRC, they have given us plenty to work with.

I wonder if boatman and tommy think we have forgotten about them.... Is it possible for all the short sellers who took boatman's advice to start a class action against him?! And tommy, well if Marius wants any help with his case against that prick, I'm sure there are plenty here who will help

Blues rule, even without Walsh. Need to double-team that serial masturbator Lynch, and nullify the mercurial Shai Bolton though.

Enjoy the night.
