Do you think we can loose more than 5% to MMCS? It sounds like you are confident that we get the mining License and dont loose our percentage.

When its true that they did not any exploration work after 3 years this could be a reasonable fact to revoke the license with mmcs. But normally a exploration license is granted for 5 years. But im not a mining minister so i have no insight’s.
The deal is that you commence exploration within the first year ; doing nothing for the first 3 years doesn't fit the bill.

Here's a link to the relevant points within the DRC mining code. MMCS have tried to get the decision reversed through a number of legal channels unsuccessfully

DRC wants to streamline traffic at the Zambian border to speed up metal exports

DRC wants to streamline traffic at the Zambian border to speed up metal exports

(Ecofin Agency) - The first African copper producer, the DRC provides 70% of the world's cobalt production and is preparing to produce lithium. As global needs for these metals increase, the country is working to meet them, both in terms of mining production and infrastructure.
In the DRC, truck crossing times at the main border post with Zambia (Kasumbalesa) have more than tripled since 2019. To reduce this waiting time linked to the increase in traffic over the period, Kinshasa is working on construction of a second Lubumbashi – Kasumbalesa road, according to a source familiar with the matter quoted on Tuesday July 12 by Reuters .
If this information is confirmed, it would be a development consistent with the Congolese government's desire to play a more prominent role in the global supply of strategic metals, such as lithium, cobalt and copper. Moreover, it is these last two metals which are largely responsible for the greater number of trucks en route to Zambia, the crossing point for Congolese production towards markets in Asia, Europe and North America.
In recent years, several mining projects have entered production to meet the expected increase in global demand, such as the Deziwa copper-cobalt mine in early 2020, or more recently the Kamoa-Kakula copper complex. in May 2021. Regarding the latter, its owner Ivanhoe Mines expects a gradual ramp-up to 800,000 tonnes within a few years.

These have also been hard-written into the AVZ / Dathcom SAS / Cominiere 2017 joint venture agreement also (at least in respect to the fact that financing must be sought). This comes from the official JV agreement amendment 2017. I have processed and translated the clause so that people do not have to learn French: It sounds simple, it took hours to translate this document from not quite straight scans of agreement pages.

Section 34 Amendment of Article 6 of the Joint Venture Agreement (Preliminary Feasibility Study and Feasibility Study)

The second paragraph of Article 6.5 of the Joint Venture Agreement (Commencement of the Project) is amended and replaced as follows:

If the Feasibility Study is positive, AVZ and DATHCOM Mining SAS will have a period of twelve (12) months to seek the necessary financing to carry out the investments provided for in the Feasibility Study in order to carry out the Project. At the end of this twelve (12) month period, AVZ and DATHCOM Mining SAS will notify COMINIERE SA of their decision to put all or part of the Goods in Commercial Production in accordance with the Feasibility Study.

Thanks mate, yes it's unreal that these Cominiere crew don't seem to have actually absorbed the contents of the term sheet, which they are a JV member 🤷‍♂️

Wonder what kind of fluster the Cominierie crew got into last night after seeing the Momentum article. -

‘AVZ will support any initiative of Ongs and the media or other Congolese bodies on this subject, it will feel happy to share interesting and useful information for the success of the cause.’ 😜

For those that monitor these things..

1657757122080.png

This compares to:

- A price of US$6,350 purchased prior to auction (no auction undertaken) last month (June)
- A price of US$6,586 purchased during auction in May

The down trend in pricing continues, which may or may not help us in consideration for the 15% of Cominiere for which we have first right of refusal over.

Imagine if AVZ was in production and had expanded to a 20MT operation, and selling their goods for this price.
Just a cool 136 BILLION $$$ per year!

Well it's a safe bet no news today probably means further extension tomorrow. Hopefully along with something to digest this time, recent article gives some hope for that at least. 🤞

US says it will back miners to stop China’s weaponization of battery metals

Developers of battery metals projects can win support from the US government as it seeks to counter the dominance of China in clean-technology supply chains, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said.

Nations including the US have raised concerns over the global concentration of refining and production capacity for key materials like lithium, rare earths and cobalt, prompting President Joe Biden to invoke the 1950 Defense Production Act to encourage domestic production.

“Our concern is that critical minerals could be vulnerable to manipulation, as we’ve seen in other areas, or weaponization,” Granholm said Wednesday in a meeting in Sydney with companies including BHP Group, Rio Tinto Group and Lynas Corp.

“We are very serious about establishing strong relationships with Australia and with your potential customers for offtake.”

Producers in nations including Australia can also access support through agencies including the Department of Energy’s loan programs office, Granholm said at the Wednesday meeting.

China accounts for almost three-quarters of manufacturing capacity for lithium-ion batteries needed for electric vehicles and renewables energy storage, and dominates steps throughout the supply chain, including the processing of a suite of key metals.

The nation is also the world’s dominant supplier of solar power equipment, and is seeking to build out its market share in the emerging clean hydrogen sector.

Syrah Resources Ltd., a Melbourne-based graphite producer with facilities in Mozambique and Louisiana, in April won a $107 million commitment from the loan programs office.

Rare earths producer Lynas Rare Earths Ltd. in June signed a contract with the U.S. Department of Defense to establish a plant in Texas.

Food for thought on the Road to Mining Manono

Meanwhile the likes of AZL have to sit around waiting for BLM drilling permits for extended periods as if it's the DRC not Arizona, maybe they need to pay out some twinkies and milk duds.
Well it's a safe bet no news today probably means further extension tomorrow. Hopefully along with something to digest this time, recent article gives some hope for that at least. 🤞

I was quietly hoping for an early drop of lots of good news but in reality this is AVZ

Wishful thinking now has me hoping for the announcement of another 2 weeks suspension but something good actually happens for us late Friday DRC time and we open Monday on a mountain of good announcements, catch the shorters out and we have to start planning the $2 Tranny Party early.

Dreams are free :ROFLMAO:

By triggering a real fight against anti-values in Public Management through the establishment of Good Governance, the Head of State saved the DRC from a planned liquidation by ruthless and self-righteous predators. The DRC will never again be a property without a master.
