Correct unless they made massive amounts elsewhere but it still doesn’t make sense to me selling at 1c wtfI can't understand why people would sell their shares held in a super fund for 1c. Your super is a long term investment for retirement. The proceed from sale is so little with a price 1c and almost like a write-off as for myself. I would just wait on and ride to the end. I think the TO offer is just a desperation and not effective for any motive.
Best of luck everyone.
Fark it's tiring!Yup, so we know now who is financing it, Peiboy and not carrotdick.
Carrotdick and jonesclown are simply figure heads to make it look good for the Australian Government.
The Chinese are simply attempting another way to fuk AVZ over, so they are clearly not convinced they will get anywhere the legal way, otherwise why bother?
I tell you what is tiring, holding RNU and AVZ at the same timeFark it's tiring!![]()
Sell the shares to your children and hopefully it would be a big house deposit in one day.Correct unless they made massive amounts elsewhere but it still doesn’t make sense to me selling at 1c wtf![]()
Surely Nigel realizes now Pei/CATH is his enemy ? Is he going to need to raise an extra $20mil to give these pricks the flick ?So say Pei is behind the Resource Capital Investment deal....
If AVZ is successful with the Dathomir deal, which seems to look highly likely, AVZ owns 75% of Dathcom.
If Pei can get his grubby hands on the 20% of AVZ with his 1 AUD cents offer, he can essentially increase his holding of Dathcom from 24% to (20% of 75% = 15%) to 24% + 15% = 39% and leaves AVZ with 75% - 39% = 36% of Dathcom and this for less than US$ 4,500.
And Pei did not have to get his super abacus out to calculate this, he could have worked this out on the back of his left hand.
No reason to get excited over the BOD, that's just noise.
Just my observation.
Oh I am with you there!!!!!I tell you what is tiring, holding RNU and AVZ at the same time

The other 80% of AVZ shareholders also contribute to how the 100% dictate the direction of the company - and to make it even simpler, "we" shareholders only have a say once a year..... . His theoretical 20% ownership of AVZ doesn't give him "control" of anything other than votes at an AGM and any profits on the shares..So say Pei is behind the Resource Capital Investment deal....

AVZ has legal title over 90%, and by granting Pei 24% for his cash, that leaves us with say 66% of Dathcom. If Pei grabs 20% of AVZ then that adds another 13.20% = leaving him with a financial benefit of 37.20% and AVZ with 52.80%. We'd also have $240M in the bank to go dig some rocks.
So yes, he "increases his holding" financially but not into majority levels - is that your concern?
TC.
Re: If Pei grabs 20% of AVZ then that adds another 13.20% = leaving him with a financial benefit of 37.20% and AVZ with 52.80%.
My understanding is that the takeovers laws would be triggered once Pei tried increasing his beneficial ownership above 20%, and the FIRB would be right onto it in any case.

20% or above I believe they can block and asset purchase/take over attempt / which they would do in a heartbeat. Don’t want Carrick profiting if this thing gets taken out either considering he owns zero shares currentlyFor what its worth, a takeover of AVZ by a Chinese company is not likely be permitted because it needs to be approved by the FIRB - so it would be interesting to see how that works.
The 20% + ownership would need to be in AVZ, not a culmination of both AVZ & Dathcom holdings - this is what I would speculate -
I believe others would have more of an idea than me on here.
