Is that third item a separate entity?
Wait what do you mean?

Are you saying yours isn't detachable and placed on the bed stand?

I can vouch for the third item in that list, not particularly in the same order though.
They're just renting mine.

Speculation/Theory

1. July 6. CMOC and Geca has long been rumoured to be part of the new JV and have expressed interest in Congolese lithium. CATL also present in these discussions.

1690251368203.png

2. Also July 6. African Battery Metals change the date of their upcoming conference. Moving a conference 3 months before an event is no mean feat. With hotels and flights booked from many attendees, they would need a significant reason to do so. Old venue unavailable? More capacity required? Core announcement concerning a battery hub? What better place to make the latter.

1690251387544.png

3. It is of note that AVZ were the lead sponsor at this event, announced Sept 26 2022 with the original dates announced alongside with it. This was the one of the first posts they made with respect to the 2023 event tying AVZ directly to the event. Did they have any discussions with AVZ as to why they would make a good fit as lead sponsor? Was it just money? Refer back to the article in 1, take note of the phrasing "ambitious battery project" and "Manono".

1690251399203.png

4. Recently the two companies were in the headlines. Gecamines claiming CMOC owed them $7.6 billion USD.
A $1.5 Billion Hoard of Copper and Cobalt Is Piling Up in Congo - BNN Bloomberg
At the heart of the issue is state miner Gecamines’ claim that CMOC has been lying about its mineral reserves and owes the company $7.6 billion in royalties and interest.

5. July 19. CMOC and Gecamines came to an agreement, $7.6 billion USD to $0.8 billion USD reduction from the initial Gecamines claim. Quite the discount.
UPDATE 3-China's CMOC agrees to pay $800 million to end row with Congo's Gecamines | Reuters
“CMOC will further consolidate partnerships with Gecamines and expand co-operation in the new energy and other sectors,” it said. The firm is “committed to economic development and people’s welfare in Congo and making a greater contribution to co-operation between China and Congo,” it said.

6. Why would Gecamines give such a discount? Do they have any direct interest in the upstream battery sector? See the below article from June 27 2023. The quote is of note.
DR Congo sounds alarm about cobalt prospects | Financial Times (ft.com)
The new head of Gécamines, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s state mining company, said the country had missed the opportunity to leverage its dominance in the cobalt market and attract investment off the back of the metal vital for batteries in electric cars and electronics.

7. Furthermore, the CMOC and CATL relationship extends further than the meeting above.
China's CATL to take near 25% stake in CMOC | Reuters

8. Could the $6.6 billion USD saving that CMOC just made with Geca be used toward the purchase of something else?
6.6 billion USD minus DRC Tax (28%) = 4.8 billion USD
USD to AUD = 7 billion AUD
Divided by 3.5 billion shares on issue = $2 AUD/Share

This would align with Nigel comments at roadshows in regard to takeover needing to be above $1.50 ($2 is still to low IMO) and would put any (frivolous or otherwise) class action suits to bed. Hope this absolutely speculative post is off interest to others. I have no inside information concerning any of the above topics.

My thoughts are similar. Another option was that CMOC and CATL have a JV for CDL. That would fund RD, expedite transport and could perhaps share some processing. A bit naive I know but fuck me would it kill the DRC to achieve something that works for everyone?

After a few wines on a Saturday there would have been way more spelling mistakes and way less formatting.

No Xerox the price he is asking is way on the high side for Trigg and City Beach. It it was in Cottesloe or Peppermint Grove then that is achievable but he's asking too much

Firstly, I'm not a photocopier

Secondly, what has dog shit got to do with price, other than dog shit on his carpet might improve the attractiveness

If this shit-show was a book you would think the author was on crack! After all this you read - Battery Metals Forum DRC Africa - AVZ Cobalt sponsor. FFS - If AVZ have paid one cent of shareholders money to be involved I want an explanation.
Hi Daz,

What this does is it further shines the light on AVZ and how difficult it is to do business in the DRC.

The DRC cant hide what its done and every minister that walks through the door will be confronted by AVZ being the major sponsor.

There is no shadow to hide in for the DRC.

Regards,

SilentOne.

Thanks for the response SO but we are past trying to expose wrong doing, it is there for all to see. We have been in agreements from past conferences (Battery Metals Council) which came to nothing. Waste of time and money. These corrupt arseholes think they are untouchable and won't give a second thought to what AVZ "says". Unless there are brown bags involved they will simply give a light round of applause and move on after Nigels 15 minute expose! Get on with the court cases or TO or new JV, something concrete - forget about trying to embarrass the corrupt players, they don't give a rats arse about perception of them.

Changes to the Battery Metal dates to Sept 2023 was announced last year . AVZ announced last month they were suing the DRC gov . So can we believe since the ICSID announcement 6 weeks ago AVZ are now in a better position?

"Can we believe since the ICSID announcement 6 weeks ago AVZ are now in a better position?"

You're referring to the announcement on June 9th 2023 titled "Confirmation of Registration of the Request for ICSID Arbitration Proceedings against the Democratic Republic of Congo". My answer to your question, yes, I believe they are in a better now as of June 9th. The only way you could not believe that is if you presume DRC wanted to be sued. I don't know how much of a better position, but I believe its better.

I was referring to this September 2022 tweet by Africa Battery Metals . Yes it's since been moved forward a week . Could be a few reasons (other than positive ) as to why AVZ are still listed . Like the organisers don't know what the f--k is going on . I'm not being negative . Just putting it out there for consideration . I'm enjoying the positivity ,but always maintain a healthy dose scepticism while remaining hopeful .

Just for clarity sake, I am only pointing out there is a relationship between the date change and the COMC/CATL. Whether its good or bad is completely up to interpretation.
