The signing of the Framework Agreement on the creation of Special Economic Zones dedicated to the production of precursors for batteries, batteries and electric vehicles between the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and Afreximbank is scheduled for March 27, 2023 in Kinshasa.
This signature will be followed by the launch of a pre-feasibility study. The purpose of this study will be to develop an implementation plan and an operational model for the creation and operation of the transboundary SEZ. It will also aim to identify key challenges to facilitate the creation and operation of the transboundary SEZ. The study will also make it possible to develop a financing plan and fundraising strategies, as well as to design a strategy to promote investments dedicated to the SEZ.
As a reminder, for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, the country intends to install the first manufacturing plant for electric battery precursors. This is the priority of the CWC Board of Directors and Management Committee.
Perhaps more talk , with little action, no-one will commit to this until the mining license is sorted out, CATL will perhaps put pressure on Government to stop the F***ery and corruption to get this going , arrests as a result of IGF perhaps window dressing, they need to come out clearly and state that Zijin is out of picture as a result of arrests. Its a simple statement but what DRC politician has capacity to do this, we know it won't be MOP, perhaps PM or Felix , simple statement they just need the balls to do it.
To put this in the DRC habitual habit of talking in religious rhetoric, and rhyming banter that no one can translate, the Zijin farce is a fart in the face from the Devil, on the citizens of the DRC.

The DRC is engaged in a long campaign to mobilize partners and will thus inaugurate the implementation process of the ambitious Batteries and Electric Vehicles (BVE) value chain project."The electric battery market is a big market, if we manage to capture only 10% of this market and inject into the Congolese economy, it will be a boom. When you see the GDP of all of Africa it is less than 2 trillion or at most 2 trillion. This is less than Japan's GDP of 4 trillion, Japan has a GDP higher than all African countries, which is unacceptable. It is projects like this that will help Africa if we make an African value chain that takes all the countries producing these components that go into manufacturing, "explained the Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya.
