Afternoon fellow holders, on the subject of housing affordability : We had David Koch host our conference three years ago at the fantastic Pier One on Sydney Harbour. He produced some stats up on the screen to show that housing affordability is NO DIFFERENT now (then) than what it was was when he and Mrs Kochy were married back in the early '80's. The big difference was back then standard interest rates WHICH were around 9%, and then of course went to 18's. Today's rates are 2-3%. and the 'housing shock' crap that media are peddling at the moment during the election campaign is typical but still ridiculous. Housing affordability in some ways is cheaper now than 30-40 years ago. Best wishes from Perth, the most affordable real estate in mainland Aus!

28 here. Been saving for a house deposit for what feels like 10 years, living in Melbourne for 6 years paying rent didn’t make it easy at all for saving. Thankfully now contracting for the big dogs BHP/BMA, Origin energy and Santos has given the opportunity to finally get into the market.

AVZI is in advanced discussions with the DRC Government regarding the purchase of Cominiere’s remaining 15% interest in Dathcom exercising AVZI’s rights under terms of the existing Dathcom Shareholder Agreement.

This tells me AVZ do not have a problem. The only 'problem' is the media scaremongering. The reality is that Jin Cheng Mining do not have a legal leg to stand on because:

The Company has considered each of the Dathomir Claim and Cominiere Transfer Claim in detail and believes them to each be spurious in nature, without merit, contain fundamental and material errors, and have NO SUBSTANCE OR FOUNDATION IN FACT OR LAW. (see in announcement above)

Look, as much as I despise what he has done, he actually has the story largely correct, in that Zijin have snuck in the back door, AVZ have been aware of it, and chose not to worry shareholders with an issue that should never see the light of day. This is boardroom battle shit, which shareholders do not need to know about, as long as they, BOD, remain on firm ground. I believe they are.

The real irony is that he has possibly inadvertently outed Zijin at the wrong moment, for Zijin, and now they are chasing their own tail.

And looks like he used to be positive on AVZ so maybe is that he was outing them?
