HUAWEI TAISHAN 200 SERVER / KUNPENG 920 PROCESSOR USING AKIDA

Experience tells me everything is possible but I think that Sean Hehir is smart enough not to mention communications in circumstances where he would be breaching US National security law if he was directly engaged with Huawei.

If he can keep ordinary NDA’s a secret I think he would be able to keep this quiet.

No I'm thinking all parties possibly have allowed this to happen. I doubt and would not think BRN would try to break any security laws. But sometimes when things change in policy the news would be the last to know anyway just a though. It's a coincidence that that was stated and we dig up this type of news.

I guess any thing is possible.

Also reading a bunch of new heading on Huawei I'm finding they are quite supportive of the sanctions against Russia. Maybe the relations have recently improved with the USA.

We are just pawns in the game of life FF.

@Kachoo do not fall into the trap of putting together two unrelated events and suggesting that they elevate the probabilities of a connection existing.

Sean Hehir stated that the approach from the communication company surprised them as they had not previously considered there was a use case for AKIDA technology.

Clearly Peter van der Made, Anil Mankar and Rob Lincourt DELL Technologies had all envisaged running AKIDA in data centres to off load neuromorphic processing.

The use of AKIDA similarly to reduce network bandwidth loads in 5G has been mentioned by these same three men so again no surprises here.

The evidence in fact points away from any connection between Huawei and the communications Company referenced by Sean Hehir.

The fact that these two events exist at the same time does not place them in the same space simply because they exist.

Great find. Tony was always going to deny knowledge of this. I wonder what Tuesday will bring on the ASX
Is Tony becoming another Sgt Schultz ..... " me know nothing " ........... IMO, This news most likely slipped out/leaked out of the bag with a 1,000 eyes being everywhere on the lookout ..... looking for those fact finding dot joining results.

I have had a request for more information from the US which I have provided but it is looking more and more like the answer @Perhaps received was truthful to some extent but I strongly do not believe that the use was by chance.

The engagement which the former CEO Mr. Dinardo referred to with the Chinese Mobile Telephone manufacturer at the AGM in 2019 that had Brainchip concerned for all the right reasons looks now to me to have been Huawei as many theorised at the time.

The engagement was reasonably advanced as the former CEO Mr. Dinardo even announced that Brainchip had plans to open a research centre in Shanghai. But for Covid breaking out he was due to spend 6 weeks in South Korea and Shanghai. Then as we know China was off the table.

If you do a little bit of Google research around Huawei and what it has been encountering around the world since being declared persona non grata in many countries you will find it still persists in pushing relationships with academics and universities all around the world.

It does not take much faith to leap to the conclusion they have kept an eye on Brainchip and AKIDA. Things like the NASA and Mercedes announcements would have both been like pouring petrol on a raging fire where Huawei's interest was concerned.

Did they pose as a hobbyist to buy the AKIDA cards on line??? Did they use one of their European project partners to acquire AKIDA??? Do they have a mole working for Brainchip or one of its partners? I doubt Brainchip so if there is a mole my money is on at least one or more of the known partners let alone the 11 yet to be disclosed companies. The use of spies and huge financial incentives (bribes) by companies and the arrests and prosecutions of such individuals some of whom are highly respected academics in top level universities is a matter of record.

The disclosure that Huawei is using AKIDA is a blessing as it means that they are still leaving open the idea that they will be able to acquire the AKIDA technology legally in due course and if this super computer benefits from AKIDA's presence then Brainchip will receive proper credit.

My opinion and speculation only DYOR

The US office maybe now revising / checking into their records to see exactly how and by whom the technology actually came into their possession.
I think the Co will now be seeking or implementing further security procedures so as to update their records as to who is ultimately experimentally using or researching our chips/IP....
I suppose now is going to be the time that a number of unknown organisations start to implement and try out our product.

No the infamous "what's a Neuromorphic chip anyway" quote came from another flog by the name of Luke Winchester from Merewether capital in Newcastle. He said this when Brainchip was hovering around 40c. He still stands by his comments and everytime he is asked he comes back to the same talking point "if it were any good they would be bought out". This proves his complete lack of understanding of the space.

He has also complained about being attacked on twitter for his comments! 😂😂 We had nothing to do with that 😏

Hey Lukey if you're reading this and I know you are I'll be here to remind you when you start plugging Brainchip to your clients(Like Owen Rask is now). I'll be here to remind your clients that you helped them to miss out on even bigger gains because you couldn't do any research to help you understand why Brainchips tech is so revolutionary.

Forever known as Luke "What's a Neuromorphic chip anyway" Winchester.

Also never forget Scottly (Lotto ticket technology) Fool. Aka Scott Philips

I've only spoken to Tony Dawe once, but if he said he didn't know anything about it, that is the case, in my opinion.

He's extremely well spoken and articulate, as can be seen in the recent interview of Sean, on Strawman.
If he knew something, but wasn't in a position to divulge it, he would have come up with an appropriate response.

It's my understanding, that he is deliberately kept in the dark, to a certain extent, to avoid accidently giving out any sensitive information, in his dealings with shareholders.

Plus, there is SO much happening, in the Brainchip World, that it would be extremely hard to be across all of it, even working at the Company.

My opinions only.

Hi @Perhaps

Many thanks for sharing this but reading the response you received again I must say I had a little chuckle at the wording.

"This is an experimental setup by eX3 - it is quite coincidental that we host the Brainchip cards in the KunPeng nodes"

The use of the word 'coincidental' is quite strange really. This word means "happening by chance".

So I paint this picture.

A group of highly credentialed academics, industry scientists and engineers from across Europe decide to build a super computer and by "chance" to their surprise through the post four AKIDA cards turn up.

What are these doing here they call out in surprise?

Who ordered these?

I don't know they say.

What will we do with them?

I don't know was the reply.

Chuck them on the shelf and if we have any connections left over we we will stick them on and see what happens. They all laugh. They were probably delivered by mistake and somebody will want them back they say so do not open the plastic bags they came in.

Weeks later:

Hey guys guess what?

What?

The HUAWEI TAISHAN 200 SERVER / KUNPENG 920 PROCESSOR has four connections spare why don't we hook them up there and see what happens?

I am not sure says one of the engineers we had a blueprint and design we have been working on for over a year now and these AKIDA cards were not part of the plan from day one do you not think this would be dangerous?

Bugger the plan just drop them in what's the worst that could happen we only live once. Sure we have been bringing this together for years raising funding and obtaining Government approvals and stuff the university protocols for scientific ethics lets just go for it guys.

And that your Honour is how these AKIDA cards came to be used in the European Super Computer.

My opinion and a bit of fun so DYOR

Hi FF, in my understanding this project, sponsored by the Norwegian government is all about research and studies. When I have a deeper look at their site, it can be the way the mail response suggests:

Facilitating research on bleeding-edge HPC technologies

The eX3 infrastructure is continuously under build-up and reconfiguration in order to keep up-to-date with the technology development. The following hardware resources, acquired in the first phase procurement, are currently available.

Research proposals planning to use eX3

2022 (8 proposals)

PRICOMIT: General-Purpose Private Computation With Information-Theoretic Privacy Guarantees (Research Council of Norway, under review)

qSE: Early Phase Software Engineering for Dependable Quantum Software (Research Council of Norway, under review)

OPENQ: Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum Computers as Open Quantum Systems (Research Council of Norway, under review)

BCertAIn: Artificial Intelligence in biology - how to provide reliable, clear and evidence-based results for biomedical analysis (Research Council of Norway, under review)

Smart RDMA: In-Network Accelerated Processing of Big Data (Research Council of Norway, under review)

RIMS - Robust Interface Multiphysics Solvers (Research Council of Norway, under review)

AI4CCAM: Trustworthy AI for CCAM (Horizon CL5, under review)

QUALGREEN: Research in quantum computing algorithms to enhance a green energy transition (Horizon CL4, under review)

Personally I think the SiFive/Qualcomm connection is much hotter than the Huawei idea.

If you want to dig deeper into Huawei speculations I offer a fact for investigation: The MBUX system in Mercedes-Benz for the Chinese market is partly installed by Huawei.

I have not bothered to respond to the statements about Tony’s reply but here is why it was a completely believable response:

1. The markets were closed for Easter - no urgency to respond;

2. The response was so quick he had no time to get instructions and respond;

3. If he was part of a non disclosure attempt he was aware I had emailed someone above him in the chain of command and as such I did not actually EXPECT a reply from him;

4. I have had a reply from the other person which in effect confirmed what Tony replied;

5. I have had a request for further information after initial enquires were negative.

Tony is absolutely a straight shooter. If he states something as A FACT in this case that he did not know anything about it, he is telling the truth.
