According to Head Office Nigel and crew are currently extremely busy Negotiating . Lets see where that leads . If nothing comes from it then I think it's time for Nigel to address Shareholders . Renowned as a champion of green hydrogen internationally, the Australian firm Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) is ready to start producing carbon-free green hydrogen from 100% renewable sources in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This was reported by Andrew Forest, Chairman of FFI, to the Congolese Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, during a hearing on Friday, March 17, 2022.​

According to FFI leaders, this is a practical and feasible solution that consists of decarbonizing heavy industry and creating jobs in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Through its project to rehabilitate a turbine on Inga 2, the Australian firm (FFI) aspires to extend its impact in the Democratic Republic of Congo by transforming Congolese raw materials, including cobalt, nickel and many other raw materials to achieve the creation of jobs and added value in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

"We had an excellent meeting with his Excellency the Prime Minister. We of course talked about Inga's very big project and quickly we understood together that we must move forward but also we proposed to his Excellency the Prime Minister a faster project to rehabilitate a turbine on Inga 2 to be able to transform Congolese raw materials (cobalt, nickel and others) here to produce new generation batteries. We are indeed great specialists in green hydrogen, which is a kind of energy storage. This is also how we are specialists in batteries for electric vehicles, batteries that are another energy storage mechanism. But the most important thing for us is to do it in the DRC, to be able to create jobs here and create added value here in the Democratic Republic of the Congo," Andrew Forrest told the press.

He added: "The Prime Minister received us, we are very happy with the meeting we had. He encouraged us very seriously, he gave the instructions with which we will move forward. He is a man of action, he is a great leader, we are happy, "concluded FFI's number one interpreted by Congolese economist Al Kitenge.

Convinced of the relevance of the project, the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, gave the necessary guidelines for a better outcome of the Fortescue Future Industries project.

If these people were directly responsible for the DRC people dying, then by all means.

Those who died with the hands of that gunman, could have been totally innocent people doing their day to day jobs just like us to earn honest living for their families.

China offers its fighter jets to Kinshasa

A delegation from the Chinese aeronautical company Catic accompanied by officers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) is staying in Kinshasa to offer combat aircraft to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the news agency reported on Thursday.

The objective of this trip to Kinshasa is to propose to the Congolese presidency the acquisition of several Chengdu FC-1 Xialong multirole combat aircraft, an aircraft built by CATIC (China Aviation Technology Import-Export Corp) and the result of a partnership Sino-Pakistani industrialist.

It is also built in Pakistan by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) company, under the name of JF-17 Thunder.

This offer aims to respond to the wish of Congolese President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to strengthen the Congolese air force, one of the components of the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC), which currently only has a few Sukhoi Su-25s from soviet design.

One of them was hit at the end of January as he was preparing to land at Goma airfield by a missile launch that the DRC blamed on neighboring Rwanda, accused of supporting the M23 rebellion ( Movement of March 23).

The Chinese delegation also offered Chengdu J-10 planes - from the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation - to Kinshasa, which are "significantly more expensive", specified the APA (independent), received in Brussels.

The FARDC has already ordered nine CH-4 type Male ("Medium Altitude Long Endurance") combat and reconnaissance drones from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the agency said.

The DRC is facing the M23 rebellion, which has seized large swathes of territory in the province of North Kivu since 2022, a region rich in minerals.

This mainly Tutsi armed group, defeated in 2013 by the FARDC with the support of MONUSCO peacekeepers, took up arms again at the end of 2021.


Crisis in the East of the DRC: Luanda, Pretoria and Kinshasa exchange for the consolidation of peace

Delegations from Angola, South Africa and the DRC discussed, on Sunday March 19 in Kinshasa, the establishment of a roadmap aimed at consolidating peace in eastern DRC.

During their discussions, these three countries intend to deepen their strategic and lasting partnership, aimed at achieving concrete results.

This partnership will extend to the sectors of economic development, defence, infrastructure and public administration.

Reports will be made to the respective Heads of State by the corresponding Foreign Ministers, so that regional diplomacy looks in the same direction and works for the same strategic objectives.

Established since August 2013 between the governments of the Republic of Angola, the Republic of South Africa and the DRC, this tripartite covers areas of political and diplomatic cooperation, defence, security and public order and local governance and to economic, social and infrastructure development.

According to estimates, the Grand Inga project aims to produce 10 million tons of green hydrogen annually. The project is also expected to create over 100,000 direct jobs and up to 500,000 indirect jobs. Additionally, a fund called “Inga Fund” will be established, which will receive 5% of the investments made for the Grand Inga project.

The project will also help to bring electricity to rural and peri-urban areas, in line with the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Industrialization Master Plan.

However, the project is currently facing delays due to disagreements within the Presidency and Government, according to sources familiar with the matter. Despite the support of the Head of State and former Special Adviser Kayembe, Fortescue is reportedly facing various administrative challenges.
