AVZ Discussion 2022

From that video it sounds like the current blockage - no doubt reinforced by Zijin and their DRC tools - is that FT still isn't convinced we have the ability to pull the project off, and may still view us as speculators. So hopefully that's what NF and co are trying to fix.
Yes it's true. ZIJIN pointing out that AVZ already can't properly manage an exploration program. They have been frivolously wasting money on things like quality housing for workers, roads, and community engagement. How can a company so wasteful be expected to build a mine?

ZIJIN simply pointing out that they are much more financially prudent and will build the mine without any of that stuff. In fact, they're so financially prudent they will save even more money by not properly paying local workers and by selling the product at a discount to Chinese buyers so they pay less local tax. Also don't forget; human rights abuses is directly proportional to mining ability so Zijin for sure best choice.

LICOCO denounces the administrative and legal harassment faced by economic operators in the Province of Tanganyika. The Great Lakes Cement Company (GLC) Kabimba, which has invested 200 million USD, is prohibited by the governor from selling cement. 1/2

The reasons for the decision of the provincial authorities are, among others, the refusal of GLC Kabimba to pay $450,000, to grant the Governor the possibility of being the exclusive distributor of cement from the GLC Company throughout the province of Tanganyika and neighboring provinces. . 2/2

Whilst we are on this, what is the chance of Koreans coming in as a partner or TO? We seem to be getting fair bit of web traffic coming from Korea in the last few months.
Koreans? Definitely, a possibility ... imminently! (????????) IMO.

Seriously, any big wheel from a credible democracy would be very welcome.

Marius says nothing about Felix directing the MoM to cancel the partition. If that was the case then the reasoning used in the new decrees wouldn't have been about Cominiere's hurt feelings. And Nigel wouldn't have reacted the way he did in his letter.

Hi,

I am french-speaking and just watched the video.

He seems to be insinuating that it was cancelled to be taken together again (North and South) and that it would then be a good thing..

That is what I understood

All of this truth needs to be spread around to everyone in the DRC voting population. The people will vote for whoever acts on decisions on behalf of the people. The more informed they become, and the more everyone is talking about it, the bigger lever this is to pull on.

Hi folks, long time lurker, very occasional poster.
Thank you ptlas for the perspective.

This afternoon I am attending a funeral of a dear friend and colleague (41yo).
Died suddenly last week whilst out hiking remotely in WA.
We are all in disbelief that this could happen to a fellow ambo… but we also all know bette….

So I just want to say, keep your loved ones close, hold them tight and give them some of the attention that you may have been affording AVZ/DRC.
Everything in life has a season and the dark days with AVZ will soon pass, so rant on here then go and nurture those that have stood by you throughout this.
Amen I hear that!

I broke my neck surfing 4 weeks ago. Thought I was fucked but now on the mend. Definitely given me a different perspective on life.

Also this thread gave me some good laughs in hospital during some really shit nights.

You bunch of funny cuntz!
Ps.
Fuck hot crapper

Sadly I don’t understand french and can only use translator, but the way you write it, it looks like marius and our management still don’t know the intentions and speculate about it.

Or am I misunderstanding it and Marius formulated it in such a way that he is convinced that it was only to bring the parts together?

He says it's a good thing but I don't feel him 100% confident, more trying to be positive.

But I liked the way he speaks, I am convinced we chose the right person to advance our interest, he's smart

Yeah I got the same feeling too. Spinning it to the positive for an interview.

Yeah he definitely says that it's a good thing the tenement is whole again. But he doesn't say the president ordered the MoM to do it like Netoo was saying in his Twitter post.

Marius references the head of state in the next part when talking about the project proceeding after a little break when the 'president has the feeling that AVZ are serious'. He then talks about other companies that have sold off assets of African countries without doing any work so it is obviously a reference to Felix thinking we are potentially speculators.

But the presidents feelings aren't mentioned in the mining code as far as I'm aware. Neither is cancelling a decree using the complaints of a minority joint venture partner that has zero fucking intention of being involved in mining.

How they all haven't sat down with key parties (Inc Felix) and had a workshop to address concerns astounds me

It's like something gets agreed with someone, then someone else throws a curve ball or says something which puts us 2 steps back.
Because Felix is either useless, or the Godfather of Corruption.

The cost of Manono not moving forward when Li prices are at there highest is a disgrace to the human race.

It could have accounted quite easily for 2-3% addition to the DRC GDP, which is around $53bn US in 2022.

There will be an avalanche of supply from 2030. It is an absolute disgrace.

I here Patek has a new collection being released at the BASEL watch fair end of this month.

Fancy a trip to Switzerland FT??

That interview with Marius gave us nothing . Most of the interview was him justifying his existence . Yeh he's pro AVZ . We paid $1 mil to be . He likes the North and South being joined back together again . Woopy Doo . We gonna find out pre ICC whether he's worth $1 mil or 1cent .

You would think Manono being of such importance for the DRC that Felix would be keen to have a meeting with Nigel. Instead we have to use the $1mil man to try and get our message across to him and hope he listens . How do we convince them of the way forward with AVZ if they are not interested in hearing us?
Twiggy had NO problem meeting Felix🤷‍♂️

Poor old remark.

Leveraged right up your arsewipe?
Probably best to not think of yourself as my arsewipe. Negative self image and all.

Just a little bit creepy too.
