The Role
The Group Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the company's commercial strategy to drive revenue growth, improve profitability, and ensure financial sustainability. You will lead financial planning, analyze business performance, and manage key commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with the Group's strategic goals.
In this role, you will be expected to manage high-level strategic planning while overseeing day-to-day commercial activities. Your key responsibilities include:
Assist in the development and implementation of the Group strategy for business growth
Development and ownership of long term financial planning and analysis in support of approved Group strategy
Financial modeling to assess the viability of projects and opportunities
Analyzing business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing and cost of goods sold
Driving efficiencies to ensure contracts remain financially viable and delivered on budget
Managing commercial agreements including MoU's, LOI's, and work with Marketing team to analyze and manage commercial elements
Lead role in advising and managing pricing for commercial agreements
Provide pricing analysis to guide offtake discussions and develop pricing tools and templates to consider different products, order sizes, customers etc
Taking a lead role in solving commercial issues that may arise including stakeholder's adherence to and understanding of contractual obligations
Supporting the Sales and Marketing team to build and maintain customer relationships
Develop business case, analysis and Board papers relevant to your role
Provide commercial expertise and act as Talga contact for Independent Technical Experts
Provide commercial expertise and support to the Procurement function
Additionally, you will conduct financial modeling to assess the feasibility of new projects and business opportunities, providing insights that guide strategic decisions. You will collaborate closely with business unit managers to drive financial performance and efficiency, ensuring all contracts remain financially viable and delivered on budget.
Part of your role will involve resolving any commercial issues that arise, ensuring stakeholders understand and adhere to contractual obligations. You will also work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to support customer relationship management and ensure the company's commercial strategy is aligned with customer needs.
Moreover, you will be responsible for preparing board reports and presentations that reflect the company's commercial performance and strategic direction, providing senior leadership with the necessary insights to make informed decisions.
You will also engage with suppliers to assess operating cost assumptions for major projects, such as the Vittangi Anode Project, as well as other projects and develop pricing tools and templates to accommodate different products, order sizes, and customer needs. In addition, you will serve as the financial point of contact for Independent Technical Experts, managing the financial sections of their reports and contributing to the development of group-wide procurement processes.
