PS: It just occurred to me that you will never be able to fart in a spa again (not that I ever have) if the spa is implemented with AKIDA performing olfactory and vibration checks which send out an alarm when something aberrant (or abhorrent) is detected.🚨

Yes, agreed LM77. (y) I'm not suggesting that AKIDA is the only reason the car is so efficient, I'm just saying that the efficiency which can be directly apportioned to BrainChip's technology cannot in my opinion be under-estimated.

Here's something I prepared a little earlier which might also help to explain why I think this way, supported by quotes from Mercedes.

When you think about it, it makes sense given the car has 350 sensors, constantly monitoring and processing information from everything inside (including the passengers) and outside of the car, that's quite a lot of chips all requiring significant compute power to operate.

Mercedes concede that running the latest AI technology consumes a lot of energy but now they have the KEY to "RADICALLY "(Mercedes wording not mine) reduce the power consumption.

Exactly what I am saying. Releasing 95% of the available battery power to the driving wheels is the breakthrough any one can do all the other design features they help achieve the range not the shift from 80% to 95%.

My opinion only DYOR

PS: I can increase the EQXX range to 2,000k by ripping out all the interior but for the drivers seat but even there I will strip the padding. I will not have a passenger and I will get a four stone jockey to drive it.

Regardless the available power to the driving wheels even though the range has increased will still be 95%.

95% is the BREAKTHROUGH.

Hi @Dhm
The idea that AKIDA at the Edge actually facilitates the use of the cloud is not well understood by many investors.

Fortunately those who count in industry such as Rob Lincourt at DELL Technologies do and for those who do not it is very worthwhile revisiting his podcast with Rob Telson where he talks about the idea of putting some of the compute at the Edge to reduce what is sent to the cloud into actionable insights.

Then there is Peter van der Made’s many presentations where he speaks to the idea that fully implemented AKIDA at the Edge could reduce power consumption in the Cloud by up to 97%. He to is not saying no cloud required he is referring to the fact that tens of zillions of “0’s” (zeros) do not get sent to the cloud only the “1’s” from which action can then be taken.

Anil Mankar also has presented this on multiple occasions one example I vividly recall is AKIDA monitoring a carpark and sitting patiently, unlike Brainchip shareholders, day and night, rain, hail and shine waiting for some relevant activity to occur not sending zeros to the cloud to say to itself nothing, nothing, nothing burning power all the time but rather only when a human approaches the car does it send these ones to the cloud to action if thought necessary.

Many, many of the applications of AKIDA will involve the cloud but it will make the cloud more efficient and it will reduce bandwidth congestion by only sending actionable insights and in critical operations it can also initiate actions at the Edge at the same time as it interacts with the cloud.

Think emergency brake response while waiting for route guidance based on cloud sourced traffic congestion patterns while turning the aircon off recirculate when the emergency braking has caused flatulence in a surprised passenger to ensure the comfort of other occupants and depending on the methane level perhaps even open the windows for cross ventilation.

Note this accelerators compress data to achieve the reduction in bandwidth. They are however compressing all the data even the boring nobody wants to know this data so that when it gets to he cloud it still has to all be processed.

AKIDA achieves acceleration by removing the boring bits before sending the actual data to the cloud.

In human terms AKIDA is the person who gets to the point straight off when you ask a question.

Other technology is like the person who rambles on for hours and never actually gives an answer leaving it for you to work out.

My opinion only DYOR

@Fact Finder 's statement above is of critical importance to our growth and to the continued servicability of the cloud for many applications world wide.

It is so simple. Only the 1's are relayed back to the cloud. It is suddenly freed up from all those useless 0's. Why had that not occurred to me before? Am I the only numnut here that only worked that out now?

Don't answer that question anyone. I don't want to know.

Fascinatingly Intuitive.
What needs to be kept in mind is that Mercedes Benz has achieved a first in that they have been able to reserve 95% of the available power reserves of the battery to run the driving wheels. A HUGE ADVANCE.

This is the real breakthrough and can be applied regardless of whether the vehicle has a wind resistance of 0.17 or is shaped like a brick with a huge flat surface being driven through the air.

Thus regardless of the vehicle Mercedes Benz uses this system in, it will ensure the previously achieved range of the vehicle regardless of its aerodynamics will increase because of more power being made available to turn the driving wheels.

The reason it has been able to achieve this is because of Brainchip’s neuromorphic brain like computing technology creating a car that thinks like you.

Future Mercedes’ Benz will not be optimised with special low resistance tyres, and body shapes achieving 0.17 aerodynamic readings. They will not be built with super light weight materials to the same extent

BUT THEY WILL

thanks to an AKIDA BRAIN TRANSPLANT be able to draw 95% of the available battery to power the driving wheels.

They will not even have to use the specially designed battery used in the EQXX as the AKIDA technology advantage will still apply regardless.

In fact reading the Mercedes Benz announcements I actually suspect that there are still gains to be made as they fully implement AKIDA and every one percent handed back to the driving wheels increases the Mercedes Benz EV range advantage.

My opinion only DYOR but I have no doubt I am right, technophobe that I am without any relevant qualifications, as it is to me a matter of simple logic drawn from all the available evidence.

Afternoon Fact Finder,

Great job .

I quite liked the fact thay managed to get the aerodynamics / drag coefficient down to 0.17 , which according to one of Mercedes-Benz earlier press articles, this is the equivalent to the slipperiness of an Australasian Fairy Penguin at the height of rutting season.
* I have embellished the last bit, obviously.

Thay did compare it to a Penguin, which I thought was pretty cool.

Great job all.

Good to see a GREEN day.

Esq.

54M shares shorted at the moment. That is a lot to buy back if we get an annoucement soon. Seem highly unlikely the revenue stream will not turn on this year. A lot of recruitment overall and sales focused job advertisements for named accounts. Be careful shorters.

A Shift in Computer Vision is Coming

By Sally Ward-Foxton 04.28.2022

https://www.eetimes.com/a-shift-in-computer-vision-is-coming/

The wrap up:-
...
The problem is, once you increase the number of pixels, you get a deluge of data, because you’re still going super fast,” he said. “You can probably still process it in real time, but you’re getting too much relative change from too many pixels. That’s killing everybody right now, because they see the potential, but they don’t have the right processor to put behind it.”

General–purpose neuromorphic processors are lagging behind their DVS camera counterparts. Efforts from some of the industry’s biggest players (IBM Truenorth, Intel Loihi) are still a work in progress. Benosman said that the right processor with the right sensor would be an unbeatable combination.

“[Today’s DVS] sensors are extremely fast, super low bandwidth, and have a high dynamic range so you can see indoors and outdoors,” Benosman said. “It’s the future. Will it take off? Absolutely!”

Whoever can put the processor out there and offer the full stack will win, because it’ll be unbeatable,” he added.

— Professor Ryad Benosman will give the keynote address at the Embedded Vision Summit in Santa Clara, Calif. on May 17.

Of course, one of the problems with event cameras is that, when the DVS is moving, every pixel detects an event. That is why Akida is needed to classify objects as movable or immovable, so that, to reduce the number of pixels tracked, only the movable objects are tracked and the background is deprioritized.

Hi thelittleshort,

Thanks for the email and pointing out to BrainChip. It is indeed exciting to see all the excellent development. The Nature piece is a short perspective, so we did not provide a comprehensive account of all companies and research groups in the field but hoped to stimulate more investment and coordination. We will acknowledge BrainChip in our future, more comprehensive review articles which are more suitable to cover the state-of-the-art.

I was able to find the AKIDA performance, but it might already be outdated: https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.ne.../217/1664/pdf/Quarterly+Update+March+2019.pdf

and here:

If you happen to have the most recent review of the chip performance, please feel free to send it to us.

Kind regards,

Adnan

Hi there

I read your article Brain-inspired computing needs a master plan and was surprised to see no mention of BrainChip or their revolutionary neuromorphic chip Akida

Have you heard of BrainChip? They are an Australian company with a offices in the US, France and India. I recommend investigating them

BrainChip have achieved commercialisation with Akida and already have an impressive array of clients including Renesas, MegaChips, Mercedes, Valeo, NASA, Ford, DARPA, TATA, SOCIONEXT, Biotome, NaNose, Noisy Gut Belt, SiFive, Nviso, ISL, Intellisense, Quantum Ventura

BrainChip boast a 3-5 year lead over their competitors

From the BrainChip website
https://brainchipinc.com/

“ Revolutionizing Artificial Intelligence At The Edge:
Akida is a revolutionary advanced neural networking processor that brings Artificial Intelligence to the Edge in a way thatexisting technologies are not capable

On-Chip Learning and Ultra-Low Power Edge AI:
Our solution is high-performance, small, ultra-low power and enables a wide array of Edge capabilities that include continuous learning and inference”

I look forward to your reply

Kind regards

Hi TLS
Why don’t you send the above material to Tony Dawe I am sure if they are genuine about doing an article he and or Peter van der Made will deluge them with up-to-date facts and figure and removes the middle man and any risk of inaccuracies:

I don’t have time to scroll trough. So sorry if it has already been shared.

Rob Telson liked this comment from Intel. (The notorious LIKE that solidifies everything) lol

Interesting non the less.
Intel + SiFive
SAN MATEO, Calif., February 7, 2022SiFive, Inc., the founder and leader of RISC-V computing, today announced the company will support Intel Foundry Services (IFS) innovation fund’s goal to build innovative new RISC-V computing platforms optimized for Intel process technology. The $1B Intel fund will support the creation of disruptive technologies to address modern computing challenges, with the Intel-SiFive collaboration aiming to extend the RISC-V ecosystem.

SiFive has partnered with IFS to develop a RISC-V development platform, codenamed “Horse Creek,” featuring a multi-core SiFive Performance™ P550 processor, and implemented on the Intel 4 technology platform, on track for availability in 2022. The “Horse Creek” SoC will enable a new generation of RISC-V developer boards, continuing the tradition of SiFive HiFive boards that have helped drive the growth of the RISC-V ecosystem.

We are pleased to be part of the IFS Innovation fund and work with Intel to significantly grow the RISC-V ecosystem based on SiFive platforms,” said Rohit Kumar, SVP Engineering, SiFive. “The unlimited potential of RISC-V is at the heart of SiFive’s leading portfolio of processor IP and will enable IFS Customers to build advanced designs using Intel technology.”

Intel's Attempt to Acquire SiFive for $2 Billion Fell Apart, Report Claims

$2 billion is not enough.

There are several reasons why Intel wanted to buy SiFive. Firstly, there are many applications that are beyond x86's reach that Intel would certainly like to address. The x86 market is limited to perhaps 350 ~ 360 million units per year. If Intel manages to get into RISC-V world early enough, it will be able to offer its customers high-volume low-power solutions produced at its own fabs several years down the road, which will greatly diversify the company's products offerings.

How would he know let me count the ways:

1. Ford is an EAP and work with Brainchip;

2. He read something on the web;

3. Always been a Ford man and anything Ford does is good by him;

4. He does not really like it but is being polite;

5. He is angling for a job at Ford;

Now which one is it do we think???

A Hells Angel motorcycle rider once replied to my request for him to confirm his full name and date of birth as it appeared on the riders permit he had just handed me:

“That’s a hard one mate. Got any easier questions?”

I think the answer was then and is now obvious.
