Good points. I wonder what the ideal ratio is for dollars spent R&D:Marketing:Admin?
I don't begrudge dollars being spent on R&D or Marketing.

In fact, NOT spending money on R&D or Marketing is one of my few red flags.

I do not like climbing Admin costs. Although they alone do not wave any colour flag to me. They are just a necessity of doing business and need to constrained to as low a value as possible.

And the ratio changes as the products mature. No use marketing when you don't have anything to sell. But when you do, shout it loud in every direction and to anyone who will listen. On this front, I think BrainChip are doing alright. Although I'd still love to see the free marketing from an "Akida Inside" type label. And yes, I know that isn't going to happen!

In 4c's I look at:
  1. Revenue
  2. Distribution of expenses
  3. Cash Flow - and if negative - Quarters to survive
And in that order.

Other than the actual numbers, most other stuff the company can report I expect I should already know.

I would have liked BrainChip to include a mention of future income to be realised in coming quarters. Yet another piece of info I can;t get from anywhere else. Just about every other company does this—it is reassuring. For some reason BrainChip are holding those chips close to their chests. Maybe NDAs could be preventing them - but they could do it without identifying the parties involved.

Sean said "loof to the numbers". I would if I had all of them made available.

Sounds like they're trying to understand the technology and have asked BrianCHip about it but they haven't received a response back ? Or alternatively, maybe they don't understand the technology as the articles they're reading don't go into that level of detail?

A whole hour, Peter van der Made has been working on it for over 20 years, this guy sets very high standards for himself some might think unrealistic however a fail is a fail.

He is starting from the wrong place with a Doctorate in Deep Training for a start he needs to get some books from Anil Mankar and relearn everything he thinks he knows.

By the by I found the following paper extracted in a series of papers so do not have anymore than what is posted yet, but it does make out the case for an intelligent processor on device:

Listened to the latest presentation, Sean comes across extremely well...he is definitely the right man for the job, Peter and Anil made a first class appointment there.

Tony also spoke very clearly and drove home the point about predicted market growth over a 2 to 5 year time frame, and as stated, we would be crazy not to go for it, whether that's a 1% piece of the pie or 60% plus piece, we are clear leaders, and have the technology to sell, finding top quality sales people isn't an easy gig, this is a highly, revolutionary, specialised engagement that requires a special skillset, fast learners focused on the key points, then let the engineering guns, Anil and Kris carry the heavy burden, while Peter is years in advance with his brilliant visions, just remember, our Perth team is where all this future potential lies in advancement of our first commercialised product, AKD 1000.

Sean made a number of points that caught my attention.

As many of us, possibly all the long termers haver come to realise that, we may only hear about a few EAP's over the next, say 5 years, the message is going to be in the revenue earnings per quarter, as mentioned a few days ago, the future figures will do all the talking.

The other point was dealing with a Communications Company, as such.

I personally believe that we have and are dealing with BROADCOM INC

Going back to when Lou was at the helm, just call it a strong gut feeling, sometimes I'm right on the money :rolleyes:

Rather than complaining about the current share price, buy some, the technology is advancing each and every day, whether that be by collaboration between our engineers and EAP engineers or back at the Research and Innovation Centre in Perth, nothing is standing still believe me.

Turns out that one of Deutsche Telekom's subsidiaries is T-Systems International who are very passionate about Edge Computing and helping their Customers introduce customised edge services into their businesses. T-Systems are currently partnered with Intel and AWS.

Might be worth keeping an eye on, few links of interest below.

But hang on - he's spent a whole hour trying to get to grips with Akida, and PhD's hours are worth much more than yours or mine, or is that the limit of his powers of concentration?

Of course, building a convolutional neural network was his first mistake - stuck in the von Neumann bottleneck quagmire.

I wonder what part he does not understand, 'cause there are lots of patents he could look at.

I was going to offer to send him some patent links but he dedicated an hour to research so I didn't bother

Take everyone’s point that him not understanding doesn’t mean the technology isn’t amazing, and it’s just one data point. But his feedback is valid - customer experience is key - communication needs to be simple and clear so that domain specialists can grasp it quickly… these types are key to market adoption.

Ann Mutschler is a collegue of Remy Pottier and she committed the same sin as Remy by not realising that there is an ultra low wattage SNN chip already in the market with many commercial agreements in place. I was very polite.
Ann responded back to me. I was a little surprised that someone who occupies space in the very area she is writing on, isn't aware of Brainchip. It goes to show there are many, many players participating in this space, and we benefit by being a major leader in neuromorphic computing, even though a significant number haven't even heard of us. At least Ann and Remy have now.
