I hope the short sellers don’t crash the share price again because they will try and do it to cover their shorts 🩳 below the 90c mark, frankly don’t have the money to top up again and again and again ☹️. Have a great nite all. 🥃
I don't think it's that easy now..

They not only have to get it there, with millions of new borrowed shorts to do it (which also have to be covered, with additional retail selling going down)..
But they then need 10s of millions of real selling volume, at those levels.

They need big help, from outside factors, to achieve this and the odds are starting to stack against them..

Market conditions, interest rates, Ukraine and the coming quarterly, could all play into their hands.

But right now, they are on a losing trade, in a big way.

Just moving the price, is not enough, they desperately need volume!

There are probably a whole gaggle of financial advisors and brokers, advising their clients to set "stop losses" right now.
You know, to "protect their gains"..

The fact that the ASX itself, has seen fit, to omit Brainchips share price gains for the last couple of days, shows we are really hurting some influencial SOBs and I just love it.

Volume is the key thing here, just moving the price, isn't enough now, with how deep in "Oopsy" they are.. 🔥🔥🔥

It’s not every week that your favourite stock goes up 50% while the shorters are hard at play. Enjoy the good times mate and stuff the consequences. Just remember to have a nice big drink of water.

Hi Rodney,
with our expanding workload we are finding it very difficult to get the right staff. We may need some of your "special projects" to seal the deal😉😉. Can you come in tomorrow and we can discuss these "Special Projects"

Yours PvdM

Hi PvdM

That is excellent news, and I can’t wait to catch-up with you and we go over the whole range of ‘special initiatives’ I’ve got in mind, which I’m certain will just blow you away, and trust me, will also take BRN to a whole new level 😉😉

One thing I didn’t ask about, but would assume is just a formality is the limit (Not) on my personal expenses and the ongoing stocking requirements for my office mini bar.

As I said can’t wait to meet you

Sincerely

FB

PS. You do know I’m not really Rodney, don’t you? He’s passed onto the great gig in the sky 😉

You've gotta ask why they wouldn't have bought a few days ago.
Some insto’s need full confirmation of a bottom or low passing and then will only buy with momentum moving upwards and seen to be breaking through key resistance levels/moving average levels

BRN SP has broken through close to all moving average levels now! The strong signal is buy.

When @TECH posted today "CLOSE OUT AT $1.295"

I didn't think he was predicting the closing price..
And what he said, stuck in my head..
Maybe this is more what he was talking about and perhaps he knows the "Close Out" price, of a couple of large brokers 🤔..

There are possibly still 70 to 80 million trapped shorts (borrowed) shares at under 90 cents and while they can hold on, at some point, the broker is going to say..
"Nutt, sorry, I'm buying back those shares to cover your account now!"..

Is that price $1.295?
And how many shorts affected?
What would that do to the share price? (obviously up from there, but how much?)..

Stay tuned.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • There are no set rules regarding how long a short sale can last before being closed out.
  • The lender of the shorted shares can request that the shares be returned by the investor at any time, with minimal notice, but this rarely happens in practice so long as the short seller keeps paying their margin interest.
  • A broker can force a short position to be closed if the stock rallies strongly, causing large losses and unmet margin calls.
  • It is far more likely that the investor will close out the position before the lender will force the position closed.

Many thanks, @DingoBorat for your link, somehow I still don't get the whole concept of these strange short buyers, they only benefit if the price falls, don't they? I think I need a seminar!

It's very simple Sirod.

The shares they sell, are borrowed at a small cost or percentage.

The only way they can make money, is to dump them on market and then buy them back cheaper.

They make no money by selling them, as they don't own them.

The money they make, on returning them, is the difference in the sold and bought price.

If they are forced to buy them back at a higher price, this difference, is also theirs to bear.

The losses in short selling, are potentially unlimited, as there is no limit to how high a share price could go.

Obviously that wouldn't happen and either they would cover, or their broker, would force the close of their position.

Hope that helps.
It's basically like gambling with money you borrowed.
