PARIS, Dec. 20, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Valeo will present five major innovations transforming and shaping a cleaner, safer, more autonomous, more connected mobility at this coming CES tech event held in Las Vegas from January 5 to 8, 2022. Never has the industry experienced a combination of such seismic upheavals at the same time – but Valeo is ready for them.
As the world leader in vehicle electrification, Valeo has developed technologies from small urban vehicles to high-performance premium cars, such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS, which will be on display at Valeo's booth. The flagship vehicle from the premium German carmaker's electrified range is entirely powered by a Valeo-Siemens eAutomotive system. The electric powertrain is composed of two motors (the rear eAxle provides 300 kW of power, the front axle 170 kW), the inverter (the brain of the system) and the reducer (the equivalent of the gearbox).
At CES 2022, Valeo will present an all-electric 48V motorcycle. Valeo is a pioneer and world leader in 48V systems, which offer a cost-effective way of electrifying vehicles and are particularly well suited to new forms of mobility, such as small urban vehicles.
Another important change in mobility, lies in driving assistance, or ADAS, a fast-growing market in which Valeo is the global leader. At CES 2022, Valeo's third-generation LiDAR scanner will be making its public debut, before being made available on the market in 2024. Thanks to its laser-based system, this LiDAR scanner can detect objects invisible to the human eye, cameras and radars, located at distances of more than 200 meters. What's more, its perception and analytical capabilities enable the driver to delegate driving to the vehicle in highway situations.
In addition to this long-range sensor, Valeo is adding a newly developed LiDAR for near-vehicle vision, the Valeo NFL (Near Field LiDAR), which will make its world premiere at CES 2022. When used on driverless, autonomous vehicles, this innovation creates a safety "bubble" around them. As soon as the vehicle starts, it can display a 360° vision of its surroundings. On a highly automated car, it provides peripheral vision, eliminating blind spots.
Next, Valeo VoyageXR Panorama offers broader, even more impressive vision. This technology provides a drone's perspective – without the drone. In practice, it displays on a screen a 3D, 360° view of the car driving down the road, as if it were filmed by a drone. This innovation offers enhanced safety in remote-controlled autonomous vehicles and creates new travel experiences blurring the boundaries between real and virtual.
Now Valeo has extended its role in assistance and protection to inside the vehicle by creating the intelligent interior. Valeo Safe Insight combines several technologies to (i) identify the driver and alert him or her in the event of distraction or drowsiness, (ii) recognize when passengers are on board and remind them to buckle their seatbelt, and (iii) detect when there is someone in a stationary car and raise the alarm in case a child has been left behind.
For Valeo, a world leader in vehicle air treatment systems, safety is also synonymous with health. This is where Valeo's high-efficiency vehicle cabin air filters come in, blocking 96% of allergens and 99.4% of viruses. In buses and coaches, Valeo UV Purifier eliminates over 95% of viruses throughout the journey, including Covid-19. Drawing on this expertise, Valeo has developed a terminal designed to detect health risks. The device can detect Covid–19 in under two minutes without any patient contact, with the same level of accuracy as a PCR test.
The Group devotes most of its innovative capacity to these fields, which explains its technological and industrial leadership in each of them. Valeo also takes a holistic approach, successfully bringing together hardware, electronics and software to make vehicles smarter.

Going from the Comsec, Sean Hehir interview, with Tom Piotrowski (which is a must watch if you haven’t seen it and if you've seen it, watch it again 😉).

Sean is brimming with confidence and has really hit his stride now.

This will be good to watch indeed!
Ooh the comment Sean made to Tom about looking forward to standing up at the next AGM to discuss results.

Big 12 months ahead chip family

Ericsson into edge computing.

Edge computing - a must for 5G success

5G and edge computing are opening a world of new revenue opportunities across manufacturing, transport, gaming and more. How can communications service providers gain an edge ahead of competitors? Find out everything you need to know below.

Communication Service Providers (CSP) are looking for new revenue sources to grow their businesses, especially in the enterprise area which will be increasingly important in the future. According to the Ericsson report “5G for business: a 2030 market compass”, by 2030 up to USD 700 billion of the 5G-enabled, business-to-business value could be addressed by CSPs.

With the introduction of 5G and edge computing, they are now in a better position to provide new offerings both to enterprises that need to automate industrial processes and to consumers who require improved user experiences for on-line gaming. Edge computing provides distributed computing and storage resources closer to the location where it is needed and targets new business opportunities that provide support for specific application use cases. Some examples of use case areas are augmented and virtual reality, manufacturing and automotive. The innovation rate in this part of the application ecosystem will be significant going forward.

The edge opportunity should be seen in a larger context of the enterprise opportunity, where edge computing will be an enabler for many broader use cases, for example within the Internet of Things (IoT) and potentially bundled with other enterprise offerings such as 5G private networks.

Any links with BRN staff & Carlos at Ericsson?

Mobile edge computing will be built into all 6G networks, whereas it must be added to existing 5G networks. Edge and core computing will be more integrated as part of a combined communications and computation infrastructure framework by the time 6G networks are deployed. This approach will provide many potential advantages as 6G technology becomes operational. These benefits include improved access to AI capabilities and support for sophisticated mobile devices and systems.

Agreed, unbelievable isn't it? Another bite of the cherry below $1.00. Is this going be the last time before there's no turning back, who knows? Where will we be in 12 months or even 5 years, who knows? Despite rising interest rates I think the BRN share price will outpace the RBA rate hikes hundredfold.

My opinion only but the offset account was depleted somewhat today.....again🤔😂🤞

Market makers will test 200 day moving average at around 92c. We'll see if it can bounce off the 200 EMA. US Core CPI figures due on Friday & dependent on the number the market will act accordingly.

Interesting that they refer to the inverter as the brains of the system.

"The flagship vehicle from the premium German carmaker's electrified range is entirely powered by a Valeo-Siemens eAutomotive system. The electric powertrain is composed of two motors (the rear eAxle provides 300 kW of power, the front axle 170 kW), the inverter (the brain of the system) and the reducer (the equivalent of the gearbox)."

Your bog-standard inverter just converts your DC to AC at a fixed frequency and alternating voltage.

So maybe the EMS is programmed to optimize the frequency/voltage when the autonomous vehicle controller puts the foot down or switches to regenerative braking.

Also, because there are 2 motors at the back, the mechanical differential can be eliminated, and the motors controlled to perform the differential function. That is, the rear wheels are connected electrically, not mechanically.

All this, of course, in response to various sensor outputs.

I know I mentioned the Siemens NaNose connection only a couple of posts ago but back on HC I posted an extract from Siemens where they were admitting that after all their work the best they could do was detect if someone had bad breath.

This tells me that in a rational world that when NaNose said guess what this Brainchip AKIDA chip can analysis VOC data from our sensors and detect Covid-19 and 17 different cancers Siemens would be curious enough to want to take a look at the technology advance they could not achieve.

If the share price is shorted below 80c ,I am summonsing my Lawyer to get a please explain from the ASX. 1. Why is BRN being shorted so dramatically immediately it was announced that it was being included into the top 200 . 2. Why has there not been a speeding ticket requested by the ASX for the lightening retreat of the share price which has decreased at a greater rate than the increase in the price when we were given a speeding ticket recently. Listening to investors who have bought shares at 1cent saying everything is fine does not cut the mustard with me . When the game is not fair when it is supposed to be fair , then when it is obviously not then why do people just become zombies and let the rigged system pass through to the keeper . I don’t mind paying for the ASX to clarify this bent situation.
