Anyone know what the braille actually says in that photo?

I suspect akida.
I'll ask Stevie Wonder who once received a cheese grater for Xmas. Said it was the most violent book he ever read.

It says braille. The word it spells out is braille
Yeh it does. I can't read braille but did check using a converter for anyone interested.

Akida comment was sarcasm. Or was it? akekida.

Mercedes is the first manufacturer in Germany to start selling a system for highly automated driving that can completely take control of stagnant traffic on the motorway.

For the S-Class, it costs 5000 euros plus VAT, as the group announced on Friday. With the EQS electric model, a good 7400 euros are due before VAT, because a driving assistance package still has to be booked.

So far, driver assistance systems have been used in cars, which can relieve the driver of various tasks such as keeping the lane or the distance. However, people remain responsible and must keep their hands behind the wheel. This applies, for example, to Tesla's Autopilot assistance system.
Mercedes was the first car manufacturer in Germany to be approved to operate a system in which the driver is allowed to relinquish control in certain situations and, for example, watch TV. However, he must be ready to take over the control again at any time.

The use of the system called "Drive Pilot" is limited to very specific situations with legal requirements. So it only works on highways, at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour and only as long as the distance to the vehicle driving in front of it is not too large. If the system detects that the prerequisites are there, it can be activated by the driver. While Drive Pilot controls the car, the responsibility lies with Mercedes. When the system prompts the driver to take back control, he has up to ten seconds to do so.

There are also other limitations. In construction sites, Drive Pilot is likely to drive. However, in view of the additional complexity, Mercedes will initially refrain from doing so. According to the legal requirements, a car must remain in its lane in automatic operation. If, for example, a lane change at a motorway junction becomes necessary, the car must hand over control to the driver. The responsible Mercedes Vice President Georges Massing assumes that the legal leeway will be expanded if the systems prove themselves in everyday life and create trust: "There will be pressure on the system from the market and from all corners, so that you get more freedom."

I had a little debate with myself about whether to post this here or on the Nviso thread but on balance while it relates to them it actually is mostly about the significance of what Brainchip has achieved with its AKD1000 in particular its capacity to process all five human senses on the one chip.

I am sure you will all recall Rob Telson speaking about this and how the person he is talking too has a cup of coffee and can smell it and feel the cup in his hand and can hear noises but can thanks to the way the human brain works focus his attention on what is being said by Rob Telson.

I thought I understood what Rob Telson was talking about and in one sense I do but upon reading the following linked article I realised that Nviso and every one else working in this area of robotics absolutely needs AKIDA technology and this ability otherwise what they are trying to do which is give machines the ability to interact with humans and understand their emotional needs will fail.

While I never discourage the reading of the entire paper the extracted conclusion makes clear that this industry needs to process more than one input to achieve reasonable accuracy and of course if you have no power constraints and connectivity is not a problem then you can use a super computer but as is entirely likely you would at least be worried about power consumption in mass deployment of these types of robots you need something capable of what AKIDA can do but guess what while there may be some low powered SNN chips coming to market none have the capacity of AKD1000 to process all five sensory inputs and do so on a ridiculously low power budgets without web connectivity.

There is of course the other biggie that no one else has which is patent protected one shot learning on chip allowing personalisation of your robotic companion or work assistant.

This paper is from 2017 but AKIDA technology provides Nviso with the ability to supply the robotics market with "a real-time multimodal affect detector which can effectively and affectively communicate with humans, and feel our emotions."

8. Conclusion

In this paper, we carried out a first of its kind review of the
fundamental stages of a multimodal affect recognition framework.
We started by discussing available benchmark datasets,
followed by an overview of the state of the art in audio-, visual and
textual-based affect recognition. In particular, we highlighted
prominent studies in unimodal affect recognition, which
we consider crucial components of a multimodal affect detector
framework. For example, without efficient unimodal affect
classifiers or feature extractors, it is not possible to build a well
performing multimodal affect detector. Hence, if one is aware
of the state of the art in unimodal affect recognition, which has
been thoroughly reviewed in this paper, it would facilitate the
construction of an appropriate multimodal framework.
Our survey has confirmed other researchers’ findings that
multimodal classifiers can outperform unimodal classifiers.
Furthermore, text modality plays an important role in boosting
the performance of an audio-visual affect detector. On the
other hand, the use of deep learning is increasing in popularity,
particularly for extracting features from modalities. Although
feature-level fusion is widely used for multimodal fusion, there
are other fusion methods developed in the literature. However,
since fusion methods are, in general, not being used widely
by the sentiment analysis and related NLP research communities,
there are significant and timely opportunities for future research
in the multi-disciplinary field of multimodal fusion. As identified in
this review, some of the other key outstanding challenges in
this exciting field include: estimating noise in unimodal channels,
synchronization of frames, voice and utterance, reduction of
multi-modal Big Data dimensionality to meet real-time performance
needs, etc. These challenges suggest we are still far from producing
a real-time multimodal affect detector which can effectively and
affectively communicate with humans, and feel our emotions
.

US BRCHF closed at USD$0.715 = AUD$1.015 last night.

BRN (ASX) has closed UP today @ AUD$106 = USD$0.75

Will BRCHF rebalance UP to equivalent of AUD$106 (USD$0.75) tonight or even possibly do a spike like we did today?

IF the DOW & NASDAQ rebound tonight (100%) this could pump the USA BRCHF and Euro share prices. Heres hoping and watchin!

DAMN. The M..FOOL was actually really quite civil in its report article. Even explained how BRN is up by 11% last 5 days , up 13% for the past month and up 34% for the year to date.
Not a word of negativity included anywhere. AMAZING! They have obviously closed out ALL their Short positions and loaded up on shares for a raise in SP.
But they did state Brainchip was not one of their hand picked 5 stocks! oh well, no great loss there.

The interesting thing is, every time the Fool does an article on BRN, they always have 5 better buys - given how well BRN has done in the time I've held, I wish I had followed their advice.

Bravo

If ARM was an arm, BRN would be its biceps💪!
I just learnt from Google translate that in Sweden they spell AKIDA exactly the same as we do, but they pronounce it differently and it sounds a bit like someone with a mouth-full of marbles saying "A COOL IDEA".

But in Scottish Gaelic the word for AKIDA is "DUTHAIC" which sounds like "TOOTHACHE".

You learn something new every day.
