When I saw this post last month, these 👍🏻👍🏻 by both the ANT61 company account and founder Mikhail Asavkin under @Baisyet’s comment “hoping Akida is one of them 😎😎” really had me confused, because just like @DingoBorat and @Mt09, I had equally been under the impression that only the ANT61 Brain neuromorphic computer contained Akida, not the Beacon. 🤔

But this LinkedIn post indeed suggests otherwise, as the article above these comments refers to the Beacon only, not the ANT61 Brain.
And nowhere is there any mention of a Beacon 2.0 model…

But if it is true that both of ANT61’s current products utilise Akida, why have we never found out through an announcement (or at least a social media post referencing it) from either of the companies directly? 🤔

Nice find, Frangi... I belive they just realised the Brain (robotic computer) with Akida to check the main features and challanges but planed to integrate Akida in the Beacon (satelite failure recovery) as well. It just make sense... because:

Brain: powers autonomous maintenance robots for satellite servicing

Beacon: is designed for satellite health monitoring, real-time communication, and failure diagnostics

What else can be that power efficient, radiation proofed and doesn't need heatsinks or active colling? You need even less wight and less fault-prone components.

If a contract with BrainChip is made... we'll find out via announcement. Until now we just know that we're in the Brain and doesn't know the details of the agreement between SOMPO and ANT61.

Beside the unknown agreement details... we'll just provide a small amount of chips but earn a lot reputation. Again 😄

They haven't (since listing) had a takeover offer because if an offer is made, it has to be announced regardless if the board or ceo believes it's a low offer. They can't reject it without advising the market.

From AI because I'm lazy:

an ASX-listed company must announce a takeover offer to the market, regardless of the offer's value. The bidder must notify the ASX and issue a bidder's statement to the target shareholders.
IMO ....Before any T/Over offer is or were to be made, then I would expect a "Cashed Up Buyer" would be doing extensive
" Confidential Due Diligence Investigations" which imo most likely does not need to be reported during that process to S/holders .....
Anyway, I think the Co & IR would come out with the usual spill and say, that there is a NDA in place :) :) :)

Let’s keep our fingers crossed, then, that BeAKIDAcon turns out to be a reality.

ANT61 is currently befriending some South Korean space tech companies:

Thanks for posting @7für7!

If there were any doubts about the strength of the partnership between BrainChip and Edge Impulse, I think they can now be put to rest. This is a recurring theme throughout the podcast, with Spencer Huang also repeatedly emphasizing how BrainChip enables innovations that were previously impossible—"making science fiction a reality," as he states toward the end.

I like how Spencer talked about smartwatches predicting health conditions before they happen without the necessity to re-charge the watch for months! Achieving highly efficient, ultra-low power, edge AI models running on devices was expressed as the shared goal.

I also loved the analogy that the collaboration between BrainChip and Edge Impulse is like being in a kitchen where Edge Impulse is the cutlery or the tools and BrainChip is the ingredients or the truffles!

Can't wait to find out more about the use cases Spencer describes when discussing how Akida is pushing the boundaries of what is possible in edge AI, which included smartwatches (as previously described), traffic lights that are auto-aware and able to regulate traffic autonomously and anomaly prediction in industrial use cases. Spencer highlights a key challenge, stating, “There are limitations in today’s non-neuromorphic architectures.” I understood this to mean that traditional architectures lack the capability to effectively support these types of advanced functionalities.

Towards the end of the podcast Spencer mentions that in 2025 Edge Impulse are going to be leveraging a lot more foundational models and focussing on vision, language, LLM's. He talked about BrainChip's demo running LLM's in the suite and said that he wants to make sure that Edge Impulse has the proper tool sets ready for developers because he knows these use cases are coming!
"traffic lights that are auto-aware and able to regulate traffic autonomously"

Palease! 🙏

It's the year 2025 and I "still" have to wait for the lights to change, when there's no bloody traffic??

They are called bloody "traffic" lights, to regulate, when there is actually bloody "traffic"!!

On top of that, you've got dorks, that don't know they have to actually drive onto the sensor pads, for them to "know" that there's a car waiting..

And where's my flying car?!!

That's my beefs for today.

And when I say "flying car" I mean like the Doc had upgraded to his Delorean in 2015!!

Not
some oversized hobby drone, with propellers that date back to the time of Archimedes!

This is what I want, as promised!

A little Time travel wouldn't hurt either, a couple of minutes would be enough..

Sorry, I'm done now...

Hi @BrainShit,

it strikes me as odd, though, that there isn’t any mention of “neuromorphic”, “Akida” or “BrainChip” in the ANT61 Beacon datasheet (as of 26 June 2024), given our neuromorphic processor was proudly promoted as their Brain’s brain? 🤔

On top of the first page, it says Beacon S. Are there different models / sizes?
The rest of the data sheet, however, just refers to it as “the Beacon”.

I have written down that Ant61 confirmed it is in Beacon but I haven’t kept a link (from memory it was on a LinkedIn comment they responded to), perhaps someone else here has it (however I do know I wouldn't have written it down for myself if I didn't see it with my own eyes)

Hi Terroni,

The ANT61 beacon datasheet indicates that it is a backup communications device. it does not mention Akida.

It was released last week @MDhere

The size/look etc was leaked last week by an accessories manufacturer.

Not yet officially announced and definitely not released yet. Trust me, my kids talk about it all the time. :ROFLMAO:

Wow! MetaTF is embedded in Edge Impulse software (from 5 minute mark)!

This is a genuine 2-way partnership!

At 7:40 - quantization* - reducing the size of models and activation.

Training NNs was new to EI - I guess this is Akida ML

Accuracy (11:00) EI EON Tuner enables the user to fine tune the model ( https://docs.edgeimpulse.com/docs/edge-impulse-studio/eon-tuner )

MobilNet rearchitected with AkidaNet

My Comment: BRN is tightly interwoven with EI. NNs need models. EI does models automatically. BRN improves EI's model production processes.

We are lifting each other up by their bootstraps!

* not just 32 bits to 4 bits - this is the Akida N:M secret sauce.

The enthusiasm between Spencer and Steve was palpable. We are on this journey together.

Can anyone tell me who this guy is? Mainly want to know if he is or was a brainchip member? For the life of me I know the face but can't work out the name. Once I know I can dot join 😀

Remember last year when someone listed Toshiba as a partner of ours and then it was quickly taken down. I believe it was displayed on a website of one of our partners. Does anyone remember this? I wonder what is happening on the Toshiba front.

hi all

@Frangipani @Diogenese @Mt09

Perhaps I have misinterpreted the Beacon. I was just going through old Ant61 posts to try and find where I have noted it down from.
I found this which is potentially where I have made a boo boo.
