Hi Frangipani,

do you really think you'll get an answer? Bravo did a mistake and I think we should leave it by that. Bravo wrote me an clerification message two days ago... I think next time he/she will think twice before writing ....

...

Hi BrainShit,

thank’s for letting me know. Sadly, she didn’t write me a private clarification message, even though she had alleged I were the user who had a secret second account and a hidden agenda.

Anyway, I’m curious to hear her thoughts about MB.

I don't think Qualcomm's customers would welcome a technology / architecture change so easy. All products would have to be re-developed, adapted, implemented and retested*... we're at the same point with Akida. Guess why no product is out there and we got just research- / evaluation projects? Except the beacon from ANT61 and the Cup cake from Unigen... but these are just single and small unit solutions.

Slight correction, by the way: To the best of my knowledge, Akida is only part of ANT61’s Brain (sadly now floating around somewhere in space) and not integrated into their Beacon.

And did you by any chance mix up the Unigen Cupcake Edge AI Servers with the Akida VVDN Edge AI Boxes which are now finally being sent out to those customers who had preordered (and fully paid for) them months ago?

I believe there is still no Unigen Cupcake Edge AI Server with an Akida configuration available for purchase? And possibly Unigen’s strategy is manufacture-by-demand (similar to what I suspect has happened with regards to the VVDN Edge AI Boxes), so they might call for pre-orders to gauge sentiment before producing the first batch?

Hence I guess my July posts on that topic (see below) still pretty much hold true.

Except that on https://buyzero.de/en/products/cupcake-ai-server there is now a second option besides Hailo (currently in stock) to select an AI accelerator from the dropdown menu, namely one by Blaize (which is marked as sold out, though).

Interesting: While Unigen’s offering continues to be marketed as the Cupcake AI Server resp. Cupcake Edge AI Server on the buyzero.de website…

D3B9416B-DB6D-488D-A5C5-026557C0C879.jpeg

… it is weirdly listed as “Cupcake (no AI)” on the actual Unigen website these days:

114007CC-7EA1-409D-9A88-9DB8D4F4235B.jpeg

Is that so because the Unigen Cupcake only magically turns into an AI Server once you have selected an AI accelerator configuration (see “ordering information”)?

Or will the future Akida Cupcake one day be listed as Cupcake (AI)? 🤔

Hold your horses! As far as I can tell, there is no Unigen Cup Cake Edge AI Server with an Akida configuration on the market, yet.

The dropdown menu on https://buyzero.de/en/products/cupcake-ai-server only lets you select the Hailo AI Accelerator configuration so far, which is, however, marked as “sold out”:

And on the Unigen website itself, the product brief doesn’t even list Akida as a selectable AI Module, yet:

Unigen did already include the Akida AI option in the February 2024 Cupcake User Guide, though:

There is something odd about the Pico chip, as described in the brochure. The die size, at 22nm, is shown as 0.18mm2. This is a dust mite. Surely they mean 1.8mm square. Still tweezer and loupe small, but manageable. I would like to see a blown up photo, with connections, plus some idea of who is making it and in what numbers.

This size will fit onto hearing-aid boards, which raises the tempting possibility of a Pico on/Pico off demonstration of ambient noise and clarity differences. If this was significant and persuasive, the BrainEar could sweep the market and make us rich. If only BRN had entrepreneurial flare.

Hearing aids are a great application for us and I am sure it is being pursued.
We can not only improve and tailor the performance somewhat for the wearer, but add a degree of AI autonomy and increased endurance.
We pretty much tick all the boxes here and can probably also decrease the price for both the manufacturer and consumer alike.
One of a list of niche products where we can find acceptance and prove ourselves to the broader market.

Hailo have a couple of impressive case studies from their customers on their website.

I wonder how they compare in terms of revenue? Founded in 2017 and have over 240 staff already and advertising for another 13 roles. Not exactly comparing apples with apples, but they do offer low power Edge AI solutions.

Hi Frangipani,

It was a joke. Brainshit had accidentally posted your response to me twice, which is why I jokingly posted about there being no need to repeat himself. I deleted the post when I realised that this type of humour might be misinterpreted, which is what I explained in my message to Brainshit.

That’s really all there is to it.

Really?
Sorry, but that sounds utterly implausible.

If your post had truly been intended as a joke, there would have been no reason whatsoever for you to put my name behind that of @BrainShit to make it look like we were the same person:

… and you wouldn’t have continued to post in such an aggressive manner (especially given you kept replying to posts that weren’t even addressed to you):

… and last but not least you wouldn’t have posted that insult vaguely reminiscent of an eccentric Roald Dahl character in the chocolate business (screenshot available, but unnecessary) 🤣 shortly after (this time in reply to a post addressed to you).

And now you are seriously trying to sell us that first post, which spread the rumour that I were hiding behind two usernames, as a joke?! Come on, @Bravo.

Let’s leave it at that.

Still waiting for you to share your thoughts on the points I raised with regards to MB, by the way…

Hi Frangipani,

I won't be providing any of my thoughts to you on Mercedes-Benz, or anything else for that matter, because of how rude and unreasonable you are being. Cutting and pasting some old responses from the past to try and build a negative portrayal of me is bordering on pathological. I have reported your post and will continue doing so if you persist.

From the past? 🤣 You posted all of those on Saturday!
You are the rude and disrespectful one here that posted them, not me!
I am just re-acting to your actions - what you do is victim-blaming.

This video is well worth a watch IMO.

It's an interview published 2 days ago with Ziad Ashgar, Senior VP and GM of XR Qualcomm. It's primarily a discussion around the future of XR within glasses, smartwatches and the like.

At approx. 11.33 mins Ziad talks about some of the things that Qualcomm is working on to try to improve battery life which he says is the biggest challenge at this point. He says people are coming up with amazing ideas and they're moving to new technologies, creating new IP's, new camera technologies, new CPU technologies and a different architecture approach (I think he said a phased approach but I'm not 100% sure) to get to better power.

At approx. 18 mins, Ziad mentions that. AI models are going to start to get better and become smaller and he also states "we are going to be able to do it in lower power".

Obviously, I'm hopeful Qualcomm will see the merits of the technology behind Akida Pico, as it was designed for precisely these types of smaller, battery-operated, always-on devices.

It is the first time that I can remember the share price was holdng up after a horrible 4C. What do people know that we don't?
In the 4C, Sean commented:

In August, the Company signed two agreements totaling €190,000 for projects with Frontgrade
Gaisler and Airbus Defence and Space, to provide customers with AI capabilities for space
applications using Akida 1.0 technology. These two projects were initiated in response to a
European Space Agency request for ultra-low power neuromorphic, edge-AI computing in space to
enable future missions to the moon and beyond. Due to the nature, timing and risk associated with
these projects, it is not possible for the company to estimate future royalty revenues associated
with these engagements.

This paragraph caught my eye as why would he mentioned royalties estimates if there is no chance of royalties in such a deal? I tend to read it as:
"We are expecting royalties from this deal but we don't know how to value it".

I don't know how much a rocket cost but let's say $100M. 0.1% of that is $100K per rocket. Assuming 100 rockets would use Akida, my estimate will be $10M. Of course, if management cannot estimate the royalties, I have no chance in hell to do so. I am just saying to myself that this could be big.

Hang on tight, we may be getting close.

Just wondering why the Euro190,000 wasn't included in the cash inflow from customers?
