hashtag#MercedesBenz is reinventing the in-car digital experience by leveraging the power of artificial intelligence.

Navigation is one example. Today, more than three million customers around the world are using Google Place Details in their cars. Next year, with the advent of our new own Mercedes-Benz Operating System, MB.OS, we will take navigation to a new level with MBUX Surround Navigation.

Voice assistance also benefits from AI. Our upcoming hashtag#MBUXVirtualAssistant uses generative AI and advanced 3D graphics to make interactions more natural, intuitive and personalized.

None of these game-changing technologies would be possible without the skill and dedication from our team of talented engineers. So, it’s great to be able to announce that our MBUX Virtual Assistant technology has won the Automotive AI Product of the Year award from the ICA Summit 2024.👏

Recognition from the industry strengthens our focus and further underlines why hashtag#AI is at the heart of our software strategy

Mercedes has continually referred back to the "Hey Mercedes!" feature of the EQXX, noting that they continue to develop this feature.

They have decoupled hardware and software developments because the tech is in a state of flux, so using software allows them to implement new features (TeNNs) whereas silicon is not so pliable.

Does this circle back to my question on the possibility of TENNs being a stand alone product?

As Dr J, stated, SNNs are damn hard to train.

Fascinatingly Intuitive.
Good evening Chippers,

Far to lickerd to type out the following, quicker to use a pen.

ARM ..Rene Hase CEO ( apologies for miss spelling) is ither full of it , and like ours waiting for the next bonus or may be talking sense .

Certainly attainable, just need to deliver , hell of alot of big talk seems to come from many... yet the delivery is...

Regards,
Esq.

Yes. TeNNs can be run with or without Akida - it's just more synergistic with Akida.

Hi @Diogenese

Where did you get the article with TENNs from? I cannot find it in the quoted link. Was it deleted meanwhile or is it your opinion?
It is a bit confusing.

Here is another 2024 Embedded Vision Summit video of Todd Vierra, this time presenting a demo with BrainChip’s behavioural emotion software partner BeEmotion.ai (the company formerly known as NVISO), running on the Raspberry Pi Dev Kit.

He not only refers to in-cabin driver monitoring, but also to use cases such as companion toys or companion robots as applications for this kind of real-time observation and perception of head pose and eye gaze as well as emotion detection.

All good things come in threes:

Here is yet another 2024 Embedded Vision Summit video clip by - you guessed it - Todd Vierra!

This time, our VP of Customer Engagement is demoing how TENNs fare way better than GPT-2 performing a sentence generation task - those of you who attended the AGM or watched it online will recognise this astounding demo:

Drexel University College of Engineering

Drexel Researchers Receive Top Honors at International Computing Conference

June 05, 2024

A team of researchers from Drexel University's Electrical and Computer Engineering department has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the 21st ACM International Conference on Computing Frontiers (CF'24), held in Ischia, Italy, last month. The conference is a leading platform for showcasing cutting-edge research that pushes the boundaries of computing.

The winning paper, co-authored by PhD student Ilknur Mustafazade; Naga Kandasamy, PhD , professor and department head; and Anup Das, PhD , associate professor, introduces a new approach to enhance the efficiency of brain-inspired computing systems, known as neuromorphic hardware. These systems aim to mimic the human brain's neural structure and offer an energy-efficient way to run advanced machine learning models.

The challenge lies in optimally mapping these models onto the neuromorphic hardware to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize communication between different parts of the system. Previous methods often overlooked the hardware's architecture when breaking down the models into smaller, more manageable parts.

Mustafazade, Kandasamy, and Das developed a novel technique that takes the hardware architecture into account during the process, guaranteeing that the resulting subnetworks can be effectively mapped onto the system. They created algorithms for two types of hardware configurations and tested their approach using both synthetic and real-world machine learning models.

The results show that their architecture-aware method significantly improves hardware utilization compared to existing techniques.
The paper also explores how the structure of the machine learning model affects the solution's quality and proposes strategies for further enhancement.

This prestigious award highlights the groundbreaking research being carried out by Drexel University's Electrical and Computer Engineering department in the field of brain-inspired computing. As the need for energy-efficient artificial intelligence grows, innovations like those presented in this paper will be essential in shaping the future of computing technology.
