Yep me too... the only thing that wen't up was our mortgage this month coming off 1.8% fixes, so no more buying for me ;) However my super will be topped up tomorrow which should allow me a nice little parcel again as I was on 16-17% total hold in BRN on Friday.

:) , it's not!! , it's 1500 reference chip that was taped out in Jan this year.
Not to be a pessimist, but going by semantics, is AKD2.0 Gen 2, or is AKD1500 Gen2 of the AKD1x range?

  • The AKD 1500 Reference Design has been completed successfully.

  • Early availability of the AKD1500 reference design in Global Foundries’ 22nm FDX process.

  • The AKD1500 is the 2nd silicon proof point and demonstrates the portability of its AkidaTM IP across multiple foundries and its ease of integration and implementation.

  • Enables partners to design modules and develop advanced designs that will lead to Akida IP-integrated volume products

  • AKD1500 chips from GlobalFoundries are fully functional at first silicon and will be available in limited quantities in the coming quarter.

Seems to me at least, things are going along nicely as planned....what seems to be the problem ?

You can't present a reference design/chip to potential customers to work with if it's a failure, I only see positivity in the above statements
released by the Board this morning, don't you ?

Try having a positive attitude for a change some of you, life's different on this side and a lot less dark....Tech ;)😉(y)

Maybe, maybe not. Our Chairman recently said they had no idea of an upcoming strike at the AGM, which to me proves 2 things. One, they don't pay attention to their shareholders and two, they perhaps don't understand the ASX environment...........just sayin'
Hi toasty Mate I think you’re right on both counts. I’m holding out for the Nasdaq listing and certainly hope they give us some insight as times and concrete answers on this!!
They simply don’t care about the SP so I wonder if they are at all bothered about getting another strike against their attitude of …we’re just not going to talk about the Sp so forget it response to their loyal investors/ supporters/ shareholders. Vlad

I "found" a little more coin this morning too. Just don't tell the boss!

Everything set up, good product, probably I'm over committed.

I think we need sales within the next 6-12 months to back up the company's releases about how good the product is?

I couldn’t help myself and also got some more shares this morning. My hope/theory is that the 1500 was designed of recommendation from potential customers so hopefully one of them signs up soon. plus the 2.0 is due to be released soon and that seems to be where all the marketing is focused atm, so hopefully at least 1-2 IP deals signed be the end of the year

Akida 1500 is just the same akida 1000 minus the ARM CPU core and lesser nodes, AFAIK it doesn't have the bells n whistles i.e VIT, TENNs of the second gen IP

Great Idea. If we're going to make patronizing remarks to shareholders then...

Let's start a crowdfunding page for BRN shareholders to recoup their losses from sticking by the company and being overwhelmingly positive. Maybe BRN executives can start with the first donations.

Ah fkng hell. Don't tell me this the 2.0 that was promised.
Eventhough company haven't said anything about when the 1500 reference chip will be available specifically, this gives a rough idea of turnaround from tapeout to availability, BRN taped out akida 1500 in late Jan 23 @ GF and have stated early availability in Aug 23 , so Renesas who taped out a design using akida in dec 2022 and should be available pretty soon i guess , let's see who announces it, either Renesas or BRN

Agreed. These are the anchor, only to be raised once the company can prove that the market wants what we have on offer. Until then we be pretty sure that they’ll keep the downwards pressure on our share price.

I do however think due to the tight lips of our company, if a customer/contract announcement is released, it’ll come from nowhere and shorters will be scrambling to buy shares to cover - my only hope is that the liquidity isn’t available for them.

If ARM was an arm, BRN would be its biceps💪!
Sweet Jeebus, please let this prototype be about us in some way, shape or form at the September Arm IPO Roadshow!

Hang in there everyone!

Arm prototype processor raises business model questions

Business news | April 24, 2023

Processor IP licensor Arm Ltd. is working on a major processor development that it will take to prototype stage, according to the Financial Times, referencing unnamed sources.

This has led to some people to question whether Arm will change its business model to compete with customers. Since its formation in 1990 Arm has always stressed it would never compete with its customers. It’s business model has been to design processor cores and then license those designs – and the architecture behind it – to fabbed and fabless chip companies.

The FT states design project is the largest ever undertaken by Arm and the engineering team is being led by Kevork Kechichian. He has held previous roles at chipmakers NXP Semiconductors and Qualcomm. The project has been underway for about six months and will demonstrate the architecture’s capabilities for a next generation of mobile devices and laptop computers.

It was not stated what manufacturing process node the processor design is being aimed at but it is expected that Arm will be working with one or more of the leading foundries; TSMC, Samsung and Intel.

No plans….yet

Arm has made prototypes and test circuits before. It helps foundries prove their next generation manufacturing processes and gives Arm and its licensees confidence that processors designed to the Arm architecture will yield well in that process. The FT reported that sources close to Arm insist that the company has no plans to sell or even license the processor prototype.

Nonetheless some observers point out that Arm is serving a diminishing pool of advanced chip companies. It has come under pressure to change business practices and improve profitability on behalf of its owner SoftBank Group. SoftBank is desperate to raise money via an IPO of Arm shares on the NASDAQ market later this year. If the prototype is sufficiently advanced in performance Arm could be tempted to take it to market itself and make the jump to becoming a fabless chip company itself.

Thats what triggered the short squeeze after the Mercedes news dropped. Came out of nowhere and caught shorters by surprise.

Demonstrates, enables, availability...........all nice words but have a look at what the market thinks of them. The reality is that BRN is a publicly listed ASX company and the board and CEO have a moral and fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of their stakeholders - i.e. us. To sit on the sidelines saying nothing of real substance except things like "the share price will do what the share price will do" and "it is what it is" whilst so many shareholders' investments are decimated is, in my opinion, a disgrace. A good start on restoring some credibility in the market would be for the board and CEO to take a pay cut and suspend any further management bonuses until there is some demonstrable commercial success. As it stands, they are fiddling while Rome burns.........all in my opinion.

Hi Tech,

It's interesting that the 1500 has 8 nodes (32 NPUs). This will be capable of supporting fairly powerful NNs, and, in addition, for tasks requiring more than 8 nodes, Akida's ability to dynamically reprogram for a second or further run through the nodes can be demonstrated.
