BRN Discussion Ongoing

I think this was the presentation by Edge Impulse who said Brainchip was a company the audience probably had not heard of then described AKIDA as Science Fiction then compared AKIDA running at 300 megahertz with a GPU running at 900 megahertz.

As @Slymeat (and I know he wasn’t just cross-promoting) said:

WBT is understood and a simple swap in/out therefore much easier to change products for consumers, I think they have known sales (revenue) and understood by the market.

Akida is new. Science Fiction even therefore the market doesn’t yet understand it.

Mercedes, NASA, Valeo, Rensesas, Megachips, Edge Impulse etc does though. However it as an emerging technology it is harder to implement, not as simple as just changing products. Although Edge Impulse, VVDN and Know Labs are working towards making it easier for smaller non-technical companies to use.

Once the larger OEM’s produce their science fiction products the rest will eagerly follow: or be left behind!

Brainchip will then have a known revenue stream and be better appreciated by the market. We already have a timeline for Mercedes. Possibly NASA via Akida 1500 when it is completed. Renesas are taping out their product as well. Therefore it’s not as if there is no revenue incoming in the foreseeable future!

I’m not sure a comparison towards the two companies are fair as they are at different stages of their development and although both in the IT world are different products. It’s a bit like saying foods are all the same and comparing wheat versus oranges. They have completely different use cases. You can eat oranges straight off the tree whereas you have to do stuff/process wheat and add other ingredients but then you have a plethora of choices as to the final product.

Long term I expect Brainchip to be fine!
you forgot ARM! As @Diogenese says "Partnerships with Intel, ARM, SiFive, ... give us exposure to hundreds of likely customers."

Good morning to you all, the sun is just rising, Let's see what today brings...

I read your very frustrating conversation today, I can understand it and that's why I'm now sharing what I just read from Tim Llewellynn. I think it fits the mood of our forum quite well.

Fascinating to watch this AI story of the giants playout.

The issue with being at the top - going higher won’t get headlines so people are only going to report you going down. The advantage of being at the bottom - you can only go up.

Microsoft definitely played a much better strategic game on this one. And has won hands down so far.

Question is are we really any better off replacing Google by Microsoft and just investors changing stocks.

So Chinese made security cameras are being removed from Australian Government buildings for fear of possible information being sent back to China.

Just another perfect opportunity for AKIDA to be used without the cloud. Perfect tech, perfect timing - a Commonwealth Govt IP contract soon please (no requirement for an NDA with that one). Great publicity too.

Frank,

Many of our partners are start-ups.

How many bread and butter companies can afford the cost to design and manufacture an IC?

Partnerships with Intel, ARM, SiFive, ... give us exposure to hundreds of likely customers.
Point taken Diogenese , but our guys must have spent their own years and money to have something marketable to go to the stock exchange to float the company . Five more years of their lives and over one billion shares issued one would not be too unreasonable to expect ( 1 ) signed CONTRACT . In my opinion it could be a good time to use the advantage that is mentioned many times here . That we are five years advanced compared to other wanna be’s . If big multinationals want the opportunity to be taken seriously by BRN then we should have a stronger belief in how good our product is and start to take control and reverse the situation and require them to take a step back and reassess how much better they are going to be by incorporating our product and start to behave in a more attuned business manner . My opinion is our management is allowing everyone to tread far too hard on their toes .

IMO, it is Quite possible that from what we are seeing with WBT is a pump and dump, like we saw this time last year.

While I agree it's dragging out and something/anything is better than nothing when it comes to annoucments....we're all at a crossroad if NDA's/agreements etc restrict Brainchip team from any form of public announcements, I hope here Fortune favours the bold and I am not been played for a fool!

I hope sooner than later we turn the corner see the light and don't look back.

All the best
Just a thought. Taking in others thoughts today with WBT SP increasing to nearly $6 and MC now above $1b
Is WBT SP be pumped so to speak with some announcements along the way (that BRN are now not replicating due to ASX issuing speeding tickets etc) to get in the rebalance of ASX300 for March 2023? The next opportunity is not until September 2023 as the asx300 is every six months.
My pure amusing speculation (maybe) but DYOR.

No, the Weebit ceo indicated that they are in discussions with multiple fabs, including tier 1s. He said they can't keep up with so much going on and about to happen. The recent quarterly stated that they expect at least one tier 1 signed up this quarter.

They are not trying to pump for inclusion into any indexes. Inclusion for pre revenue stocks into indexes are a nightmare (look at BRN). Shorters get more access to shares from the instos.

Ok. Take your word for it but just skimmed the WBT 4c and it doesn’t come across as definitive as you mentioned about signing up atleast one tier 1 signed up this quarter but does come across positive for WBT In 2023. Happy to be corrected with actual wording in current 4c from Coby.
BRN also provide positive thoughts via their 4c but prefer to use twitter and BRN website to inform shareholders etc.

Lots of behavioral changes though which leave me confused 😂

Interesting sales technique - buy our IP or we'll sell it to someone else ... but we're not selling exclusive licences.

I would be surprised if our marketing team were not explaining the benefits of Akida to potential customers.

There's an old saying about leading a horse to water.

The process of developing a new product, especially in safety-critical applications like ADAS, is a long term project. Even an IC manufacturer like Renesas has taken more than 2 years to produce the hardware. We're hoping Valeo will incorporate Akida in SCALA 3 next year, after more than 2.5 years of joint development.

https://smallcaps.com.au/brainchip-joint-development-agreement-akida-neuromorphic-chip-valeo/

We have partnerships with several leading edge start-ups as well as the titans of the industry.

In the last 12 months, business conditions have taken a turn for the worse: inflation, recession, component shortages, war, layoffs in the major companies, cost cutting and belt tightening across the board, bear market ...

Am I happy about the delay? I bought in FOMO in 2018 when I first discovered BRN and saw they were due to make a presentation to an engineering conference in the US in a couple of weeks. I was sure the SP would hit $17.85* in no time.

The whole business strategy has been overhauled in the interim, but the underlying brilliance of our product has only got brillianter. We're not selling psilocybin - this is a real trip to the moon.

*There were fewer shares then.

Maybe they did their DD by asking ChatGPT if Bards answer was right and it answered, it is correct. Now that's how you do your due diligence.

Did you not read Tony Dawes response re. market sensitive announcements to the ASX? We've already had a warning. I reckon a team of our calibre know what they're doing.
Hi jomo68,

I understand BRN Management style with “market sensitive announcements” BUT
the tapeout of Akida 1500 is just a non-price sensitive announcement wrapped in 4c from BRN management. i feel it should have been a seperate non price sensitive announcement on ASX just like other tech companies have done. BRN management prefer to announce so called general news like tape outs via twitter instagram etc and BRN website.
if you didn’t access twitter, instragram or BRN website for BRN news updates (for whatever reason) and relied on ASX for non sensitive announcements you may have missed it.
My understanding is WBT and other tech companies may consider a tapeout as good news (considered by some as non-sensitive market announcement in asx announcement ) to assist shareholders this news is not missed who don’t wish to use twitter etc. How this news is taken by market then let the market decide. Just my thoughts

Thankyou for replying Diogenese . I differ in my thinking re leading a horse to water in that I firmly believe in the bricking of the camel 🐪 once it has started to drink .one can expect to get at least another 3 days in the desert if that is practiced . I’ll take onboard everything you have said and see if I can justifiably reset some of my thinking . Thankyou once again .

“A team of our caliber”.

I’m interested in hearing more as to what caliber of team we actually have…

PDVM and Anil. Yes, I agree.

The rest? What have they accomplished after more than two years of commercialisation? Two contracts? One came out of left field, so I put that win down to Akida, and one other.

I’m genuinely keen to learn more here. I mean, we’re a company with a product so surely success should be based on sales right? With more than 24 tier one companies in the EAP before we even had a chip, sales should be easy right?

Thanks @Learning

So there’s some good news!
Something to be happy about today!

There’s a likelihood that a innovative medical device containing Akida is getting closer to market and going through the appropriate trials prior to approval.

How exciting when the products start coming out of the pipeline!

It’ll be price rise after price rise, after price rise!
Would this not be a price sensitive ASX announcement

I'm Spartacus!
Seeing and getting the chance to chat with the management up close and personal at the AGM certainly has helped put some iron in my spine.
I was heartily impressed with the calibre of the people I met there, especially Peter, Sean, Antonio and Ken.
It wasn't just their professionalism but they really seemed like genuine people who are at least as excited as me by the Company and the opportunity and I really liked that it wasn't just all about the money.
They know that's important to us, and to them too, but it's also about doing good in the world.
I admire that, and I also think they are doing their best to get it all happening as quickly as possible and are probably as frustrated as anyone by all the imposed secrecy.
I've also experienced building a business from scratch and just how hard certain parts of the growing process can be when you just seem to keep pouring blood, sweat and tears in, year after year, and yet only seem to be getting incremental results.
It's a long hard slog until you make it, and not all do.
It's also easy to snipe from the sidelines, but I hardly think it helpful.
Perhaps you should address your concerns to the Company rather than here.
We are hardly likely to grab pitchfork and torch and demand heads on pikes.
If you don't get an answer that satisfies you then feel free to divest and put your support somewhere else.
GLTAH
