Howdy Brain Fam,
I've been keeping a bit of a low profile today because I discovered a phantasmagorical Mohito recipe last night and have been suffering the consequences of my reckless abandon and exuberant over-indulgence today.
So with that said, I'll try to make this as coherent as possible. Remember back in November 2022, Nils Shanz, was appointed Chief Product Officer at Cerence. Well, it just so happens that before that, Nils was responsible for user interaction and voice control at Mercedes and he worked on the Vision EQXX voice control system (which, needless to say is five to ten times MORE EFFICIENT than conventional voice control systems thanks to BrainChip's AKIDA).
Well, Nils Shanz is cited in the first recent Cerence announcement linked below. And the second recent announcement refers to Native Voice. bAck in December 2022, Chris Smith liked a post that John Goscha (Founder of Native Voice) made about Native Voice being chosen by iHeart Media to build the voice Assistant for iHeartRadio Audio Content.
What all of this means is anyone's guess but between you, me and the lamp post, I would't be at all surprised if we're involved in some of this action whether directly or indirectly IMO.
I was going to underline some of the interesting bits but my eyesight is still a bit bung, so please accept my sincere apologies and don't forget to drink responsibly unlike yours truly.

CES 2023: New Voice Assistant And Auto Integrations Unveiled For iHeartRadio.
- Jan 4, 2023 Updated Jan 4, 2023
iHeartMedia announces a new series of voice assistant and automotive integrations for its iHeartRadio streaming service. The news was released ahead of CES 2023 in Las Vegas, which runs Thursday, Jan. 5 through Sunday, Jan. 8.
The integrations include Cerence, Fisker Auto, Native Voice, TomTom, and VinFast.
- Cerence, an industry leader in mobility AI, will deliver new paths to access iHeartRadio’s portfolio of audio content to automakers and their drivers. When combined with its voice recognition and natural language understanding, Cerence unlocks a seamless iHeartRadio infotainment experience that automakers and mobility OEMs can leverage for drivers across the country, iHeart says.
- Fisker will include the iHeartRadio streaming app in the entertainment system of the Fisker Ocean all-electric SUV, the centerpiece of which is a 17.1-inch touchscreen. The integration will provide customers with access to iHeartRadio’s extensive lineup of radio stations.
- Native Voice, an on-demand voice assistant library that enables users to communicate directly by voice with their favorite brands, will offer direct access to iHeart’s library of live and on-demand music, radio, and podcast content via voice. Early this year, anyone with a Skull-IQ enabled Skullcandy device (Grind, Grind Fuel, Push Active) can say “Hey iHeart” for hands-free access to iHeartRadio content without having to download the iHeartRadio app.
- A new TomTom Digital Cockpit integration will allow car manufacturers to offer iHeartRadio seamlessly on the vehicle dashboard display. Through one single interface, iHeart says drivers can access personal playlists, podcasts, and live radio stations, ensuring a frictionless listening experience in the car without having to connect their smartphones since the feature comes natively integrated into the in-dash infotainment system.
- VinFast and iHeartMedia have joined forces to bring all the features of the iHeartRadio app into the infotainment system of every VinFast electric vehicle sold in the U.S., scheduled to begin hitting U.S. roadways in early 2023.
“At iHeart we are committed to providing companionship to our listeners through our massive roster of on-air radio personalities, unmatched lineup of podcast talent and the reach of our local broadcast station brands,” John Vermeer, Executive VP, Digital Distribution and Platform Partnerships for iHeartMedia said in a release. “Our partnerships with some of the most innovative companies in voice and automotive technology help us continue this mission by ensuring our content is available to consumers where they expect it today and where they will expect it to be in the future.”
