Great to see you here FF (y):)
Uwe Guenther
Senior Director Sensor Solutions
Renesas Electronics

Before receiving his role over Renesas' Emerging-Market Sensor Solutions Unit, Uwe was responsible for IDT's (now Renesas) worldwide activities in the field of mobile sensing, targeting environmental sensing solutions for the wearable and smartphone markets.
----------------------------------------------------

Now this fella is really interesting, his background and current posting within Renesas Electronics. Tell me Renesas are NOT going to be using AKIDA in some if not most of their product range!
When all of this catches up with us and comes out into the open, holy cow! I still find it incredible we are involved with BRN.

Hi everyone
Still coming to grips with how this will work but thought I would post the response I received from the CFO of Brainchip to the question what does the DTC achievement actually mean to Brainchip and its shareholders as my first contribution:

This one was something we put a ton of work into months ago and then Covid killed the DTC! Our application sat there literally for months which was very upsetting and disappointing considering the amount of work and the cost that went into it. But finally it has happened.

There are a few websites that actually explain it all very well but if I were to put it into simple terms, I would explain it as follows:

When our shares are traded on the OTCQX, the settling and clearing process is happening on the ASX because we had no access to the automated, electronic, clearinghouse system in the US. Because of this, the number of firms/institutions that could access our shares was very limited and the transaction fees were very expensive. Many of these firms can only deal in the securities of DTC members.
By joining DTC and having the ability to settle and clear locally in USD, and by having a local US based transfer agent (or registry as it’s called there), and without the need to settle and clear on the ASX (CHESS), all DTC member firms and institutions now have easy access to our shares. Previously, if you were to purchase the BRCHF shares, you would likely see an additional fee of up to $55 (USD) tacked on to the cost of your trade to cover the costs of administering these trades. That is no longer the case.

I tested it today and noted that the fee to trade was $6.95/trade. With the increase in the number of eligible firms having access to our shares combined with a dramatic decline in transaction fees, we should see increased demand for the shares. It’s all aimed at increasing our exposure in the US. The more places our name pops up, the better!

Last but not least, DTC eligibility is a requirement of all the major exchanges in the US. If the company were to pursue a duel listing at some point in the future, this would be another step in the right direction although the ADR is the perfect instrument for that already.

This was posted over on HC as well but as I am moderated whenever I post anything direct from the company on the basis it is unsubstantiated even though it comes with confirmation that the company is happy for me to post it is presented as my idea of what the reply would be and I invite posters to check how accurate my idea is directly with the company.

I think I will retain my sign off that everything is just my anonymous opinion and so DYOR

It would be a real shame to be beaten to market by the same type of device we/Nanose basically had ready 2 years ago:(
Yes it would be a shame! Had a listen to the Radio presentation talkback, sounded quite good.
Get this . Interest from around the world has already got orders lining up.
One such order the customer wants - 2 MILLION units per week!
Its a money spinner no doubt about it. The Aust Gov just donated $700k to them as a grant.
Sounds very similar to our Nanose unit except for the QR code which you look at for the results. 98%+ accuracy.

Ole mate made mention that the sensor was from overseas, somewhere like the US, I think was the way he said it. If it was BrainChip surely he would have said an Australian company based in the US?? Just my take. But you’re right, who knows.
yes I picked up on that as well. Microprocessor from USA. No mention of being neuromorphic. It sounded almost like a copy of the Nanose setup.

Here are some points from the presentation by Sean that I found interesting (some are known to us already):
- we are now at a stage of mass commercialisation
- by 2025 41 billion devices will be competing with bandwidth
- edge based devices requiring AI - $60b by 2025
- Revenue via: chip/board sales, IP licenses, engineering support, NRE fees, Royalties
- "we are selling licenses now"
- EAP: FORD (for assisted driver system), valeo, vorago, NASA
- 15 EAPs

Hello everyone,
great idea with the forum. It was just unbearable, this dumping shit. We also had to open a new forum a few weeks ago.
Here is the PDF of the presentation.

Apologies for being late to the mutiny! This place looks sensational, almost BrainChip branded with the colour scheme. Great job Z.

I think they're referring to the Virtual Investor Conferences.
Thanks @JDelekto

This was on at 6.30 pm in my time zone so I was able to watch. My hurriedly scribled notes are as follows:

Technical

- Sean’s intro was similar to his recent interview on Pro... (can't remember full name…)
- He provided a good explanation of conventional vs Edge AI
- He explained neuromorphic computing well (using the example of a human recognising a face)
- Sean mentioned we have a solution to the global IOT power consumption problem
- He spoke about the importance of software automating conversion (perhaps @uiux can elaborate on what that means)
- He talked about power saving being important for the world as well as particular use cases

Commercial
- Sean emphasised IP licensing for our revenue model – this brings revenue from multiple sources – royalties are “margin rich”.
- We have 15 EAP customers
- Renesas will build our IP into their products to sell to the market
- Sean referred to Mercedes as a “customer”
- “demand will shift from cloud-dependent AI devices to solutions where data is captured on the device”

My take on Sean
- He knows the company’s history and where we are going
- He clearly understands the technology and the market for it
- He spoke fluently throughout and his presentation and speaking flowed very well
- I have confidence in Sean being the main voice for our company. Very easy to listen to.

Slides are hopefully attached or can be found here Slides (you might need to sign up). The presentation will be available for replay.
I will also post my notes to HC but am putting them up here first where they can be read in peace and quiet 😉

@Equitable Thanks for the summary :D Couldn't watch myself so this helps alot.

Few things that caught my attention reading your summary..

1. So far 15 EAP customers and 4 revealed. Are the rest still unknown or we did dot join some? I've probably missed a lot.. On top of my head Dell? Biotome? and..?
2. Did Sean mention ISL?
3. By referring Mercedes as a "customer" does that mean the dotted line has been signed? Or simply one of the 15 EAP "customers"?

You're welcome.
As far as I know, the other EAP's are unknown. I don't how to confirm any.
I did not hear ISL mentioned.
I don't know in what capacity Mercedes is a customer and I did not hear Sean say other than to call them a customer. He spoke about their recent press release and use case.

Thank you so much for setting this up Zeebot.
I bought Brainchip shares in spring 2020 after having dealt more intensively with AI technologies on the Internet in 2019. As far as I can see so far, it was a happy coincidence and I may be able to offer my children a more carefree future. Professionally, I am a nurse at a university clinic. One could say that I am not familiar with the subject, but my interests in technical progress are multifaceted. Not nativ english speaking but glad to understand.
Thank you so much for being a part of the new forum.
