Hi @Learning
Under US tax law when the ownership of the shares vests/transfers then tax is payable as these shares form part of his salary package. He has elected to convert a portion of these shares into cash to pay the tax.

That was an eye opener
The USA,Australia And the rest of the world better wake the hell up quick smart
With all the EV coming on line in the next few years it’s going to take a lot of batteries
Unless there is a major change of technology and we can run the cars on Co2
China might be the new go too, that is if it’s not already.
Hopefully this signals a slow de-coupling from China. The Chinese government are a law unto their own and don't give a shit about the environment, minority ethnic groups or other cultures they are racist a'holes. Unfortunately the average Chinese citizen is taken along for the ride. Funny, isn't it that the virus started in their country and while the rest of the advanced world has learnt to live with it they are still locking-down cities. USA is 100% right to restrict Chinese access to Western technology lest they inevitably use it against us. The best long term solution is for the West to become autonomous and restrict reliance on China (and Russia too for that matter) to an absolute bare minimum.
My heartfelt opinion only.

Even though I get why he sold them, I still find it a bit annoying that he sold some of the shares lol
My brother (software engineer) also gets shares from the US listed company but he hasn't sold any because he thinks that it will go higherrrrr lolllllllllllll come onnnn

Hi Stan
It is an interesting question however I think in the granting of the patent the originality of the invention is being confirmed and so logically it is hard to argue it is not material.

I suppose if it was a random inventive idea unrelated to the company’s activities it might not be material. Having said this it is reasonably expensive of time and money to pursue a patent so shareholders would be justifiably angry about a company pursue flights of fantasy through the patent process.

So I personally cannot think of a situation where a granted patent would not be material.

IMO..... all these BRN patents are absolutely necessary for commercialisation of our technology .... as no big fish would want to use our IP in their own products without this sort of protection level.

He had over $2 million shares vest. I'm not sure of the exact US tax rates but he likely would have had a high six figure tax bill to pay. Not everyone has that sort of cash lying around and likely didn't have a choice.

It's great to be a shareholder.
Can we take notice of the exact words used under Nature of Trade please.

They are not ‘On market trade’ but ‘On market transfer’.

Without disclosing my personal financial details my wife and I have independent financial resources one from the other and from time to time it serves our respective interests to be lenders and borrowers of each other.

Notice it is an on market transfer not a trade complete the dots before you jump to the conclusion that he has truly divested himself from the future benefits of share ownership in Brainchip. He just needed to move cash from one pocket to another pocket that allowed him access and in the process reduced the future capital gains tax on the transferred shares.

And by the way that drugged up moron from the other place should never be listened too or responded too.

These shares are the agreed payments Viana is receiving for his consultancy role published via the ASX last year. Hence the fact that they are for identical numbers of shares each time and it is stated in black and white in the ASX announcement.

The fact that he can waste so much of your time with this rubbish makes clear why doing your own research is critical and reading price sensitive announcements and keeping them to hand is also.

'The proverbs idle hands are the devil's workshop, idle hands are the devil's tools, and idle hands are the devil's playground mean that someone who is unoccupied and bored will find mischief; someone who has nothing to do will partake in something that will get him into trouble'.

The Google explanation above is worth noting. While BRN's shareprice remains rangebound it will be the victim of bored trolls with nothing better to do. When the SP inevitably explodes (as I/we believe it will) then they will move on to another 'target'. Nothing to see here ladies and gents - just part of the process 😉

I hold a decent amount of BRN shares and have been in since 5 cents. I was thinking of adding some Novonix (NVX) to my portfolio. Did some research and liked what I saw.

Does anyone know why it has dropped so much over the last few months and if it is still a good buy?

Sorry for posting this here!
This is not intended to be taken personally and I have no knowledge of NVX but the one obvious common element between it and BRN is your interest. 😂🤓🤣🤡
