" ... Peace deal negotiations between DRC and Rwanda. On May 21, President Trump announced that his Administration is close to successfully brokering a peace deal between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda. The President said that his Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos, had been instrumental to the negotiations. In March, we reported that DRC President Felix Tshisekedi had written to the President offering the US access to DRC’s critical minerals in exchange for military help against Rwandan M23 rebels. In April, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the DRC and Rwanda had signed a pledge in Washington, DC to work toward a peace agreement. A peace deal brokered by the US could potentially give the US far greater access to DRC’s vast mineral wealth. The DRC is the world’s leading exporter of cobalt and a major exporter of coltan, copper, gold, tin, tungsten, and tantalum. Its untapped mineral wealth is estimated to be worth trillions of dollars. ..."

Ah yes, little more than the usual Chinese window dressing and virtue-signalling by a subsidiary of Zijin Mining whose environmental track record is a pattern of neglect and indifference. When Zijin talks about sustainability in its reports, it actually means sustainability of profits regardless of the damage caused by its operations.

Building a couple of schools does not absolve that odious company of its environmental and social obligations.

Heard there's a few things happening....further negotiations etc

Peace deals and minerals/security clearly right at the top of all of those but obviously the $ matter as well to all parties

It's right at the pointy end IMO

With so much at stake there's enormous amounts of FUD and misinformation floating about

Nothing like you've might ever have seen...

The BOD and Nigel are absolutely the best source of information right here, right now IMO

I am optimistic and hopeful that the right, legal and fair agreement is eventually negotiated and delivered
