This could just be an outcome the journalist came to themselves on the back of a napkin.
Most likely, RIO is leaking lowball offers to build a narrative, to what end? It's all part of the games being played to lower expectations.

Surely 'AVZ representatives' aren't considering this as it is well below Nigel's minimum valuation of $2.5b USD at the AGM
That isn't a commercial enough offer to win the required shareholder vote even with a royalty imo

Stupid low ball shit but the tax outcome (whatever the sale price) will vary from holder to holder depending on how it's held, where it's held, personal circumstances, income levels, size of holdings (so resulting potential profit size), whether it's a share sale attracting CGT rules and possible 50% discount etc etc
But prima facie 67.5c is just fucking bullshit and I agree nowhere near commercial enough to get shareholder suppot
I went back and re-read it and we're all getting worked up over a simple misunderstanding.
Clearly what heas saying is 1.5B per share, which i am ok with.

I'm aware of the various personal tax implications
There has been some talk of DRC waiving it but that seems extremely unlikely given the constant accusations of speculation over the years and even if we sell through GLH (unlikely because of Dathcom shares being tied to AVZI under affiliated company rules in Dathcom JVA) or AVZI there will still be company tax payable to either Singapore or Australia imo
It's all just games.

Yeah saw it was 30% tax but wasn't sure if that was DRC tax, Oz Corp tax rate or a bit of an "average" for say a personal shareholder
Would like to see some tax relief in any deal but how that would be done (or could be done) I don't have a clue
