Rumours has it Tshisekedi may even try to stabilise the business conditions further by pegging the exchange rate of the DRC Paper Bag directly to the US Dollar
I didn't realise paying bribes in US$ is legal.

However with a criminal in control the sky is the limit I assume.

On a different note it looks like Canada is considering cancelling their F35 orders and to get their planes from a more reliable supplier.
(Maybe Canada doesn't want to stand in line waiting for new planes behind Putin.)

I wish our PM would do the same and on top of that tell Trump to shove his submarines up his clacker.
It would make our trade imbalance with the US look a lot healthier.

In the real world, potentially yes. But in the shameless, zero consequence, I am god, world that the DRC bureaucrats live in, probably not as I'd wager there are still some who think they are above all this and still demand bribes to do anything.

It'll be an interesting one, that's for sure.
It's honestly one of our biggest roadblocks.

The individuals who are in charge of making decisions feelings have been hurt, they are happy to let the country suffer and pay the price as it will never affect them individually.

i disagree... trump wants minerals, and he wants it now... not to mention a win for him over china if it happens... and would farkwit felix be talking with trump if he wasn't desperate... he's desperate alright... his life may well depend on it... if the rebels get their way. i think nothing will stop it if trump and felix both want it.

i'm not even sure china will disrupt this with felix and trump wanting it... trump wont be there just supporting against the rebels... he'll help felix rule (rightly or wrongly).

Given Trump’s rhetoric, it seems highly unlikely that he would commit to deploying U.S. troops on the ground in an active combat role. As the self-proclaimed "America First" president who opposes foreign entanglements, he would not want to be seen as playing world police at the expense of American lives especially with 2 other messes ongoing the Amercian public wants to see resolved first.

Ultimately, the key question is whether the support the U.S. may be willing to offer - training, logistics, weapons, aerial support, intelligence, etc.—will be sufficient for Felix, or whether he is expecting a more direct intervention, akin to the cavalry arriving to save the day.

Interestingly, the U.S. currently maintains no military bases in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Chinese Ambassador Calls for Denunciation of Illegal Mining and Reaffirms Beijing's Support for Kinshasa

The Chinese Ambassador to the DRC, Zhao Bin, reaffirmed his commitment to preserving his country's image
and strengthening Sino-Congolese cooperation, already well established thanks to the joint efforts of Presidents Xi Jinping and Félix Tshisekedi.

At the inauguration of the Confucius Center at the University of Kinshasa on Monday, March 17, 2025, the Chinese diplomat called on Congolese citizens to report any illegal activities carried out by Chinese nationals in the mining sector.

"The Sino-Congolese cooperation model has set a good example in the world in terms of mutual assistance and co-development," he emphasized. :ROFLMAO:

Zhao Bin emphasized that China firmly opposes any illegal mining in eastern DRC and assured that no legally registered Chinese companies operate there.

"I take this opportunity to reiterate that China firmly opposes illicit mining in any form in eastern Congo," he said.

He urged the Congolese population to report any suspicious activity.

"I urge you to monitor and, if you observe any illicit activities there, do not hesitate to report them to us.

I promise to address these cases promptly," he insisted.

It is now 2,698 days since I first bought into AVZ.....................
TC your buy into AVZ was 53 days before my self and just 1080 days ago we hit a high of $1.36 although some media record the high as $1.33

ps Just a thought not much else regarding Amo's post on hc re a deal having been done, I initially read it that way but then thought he may have meant/intended it to say a deal with the US only not yet AVZ. As i say I'm not sure just my thoughts.
