I'll tell you are few stories some time over a few beers about my time in China during the 1990s.

The compulsory medical examination by a (female) CCP doctor in a small regional city as part of the approval process to marry a local (which didn't end up happening. I think I was the first foreigner she'd examined.

The party officials sitting in the hallway on every floor of the nicer hotels where foreigners stayed monitoring who comes and goes, and checking ID papers of any locals in the hotel (made it tricky to smuggle my Chinese girlfriend into my room at the time, but where there's a will there's a way)

Visiting China since Wednesday, May 24, Congolese Head of State Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday, May 26 at the Grand Palace of the People.

During this meeting marked by the solemnity including a parade of honor and the impact of 21 gunshots, the DRC and China signed 4 memorandums of understanding that are spread in various fields.

This is the memorandum of understanding on the investment and ecological exploitation of natural resources, the memorandum on exchange and cooperation in information but also on cooperation in the development of the digital economy.

To this is also added the memorandum of understanding on the promotion of the development of green growth and a Cooperation Agreement between the two national television channels, the CGTN of China and the RTNC of the DRC.

Head of State Félix Tshisekedi and his counterpart exchanged to strengthen their partnership, to create more opportunities for two countries.

O and let’s have our two national TV stations do a co-operational agreement to pump out propaganda to the benefit of our two countries. Yep, CCP are supremo at that. Really , a trip to China and that was one thing on FT agenda. Who knows to what extend that co-operation goes, but why? It’s a communist country and DRC democratic ( just ) you don’t do that. The footage of FT walking with Xi in the red square and how staged the girl students were madly waving their little flags makes my blood boil. Xi has put China back 10 years with his Communist values and State authority.

I gotta gree with @cruiser51 and others, $1m donation from China for a disaster of that magnitude, just confirms that they dont give a fuckn shit about the DRC locals welfare, just there for the rape and pillage of minerals for self gain........



If only the DRC govt had the foresight to grant AVZ the ML 12 months ago, the Manono construction period could of been close to completition , whereby DRC could of been close to reaping millions of dollars a day to cover such travesties with ease, or maybe a intermittant DSO operation could of been arranged to fill the gap until production.....

But alas, the greedy wankers Cominiere / Zijin decided they were more important.......

Just a very sad indictment .

Yep, there would be thousands of people positively impacted through the development of a sustainable mine, not only in terms of personal income and skills development for those directly involved in operations, but also through secondary benefits. There would be a lots of money flowing through the local economy, supporting local businesses and creating the need for infrastructure investment and all the jobs that come with that.
Importantly, it would provide hope and optimism where that is (seemingly) in short supply.

Instead, we have a bunch of greedy khunts who want everything for themselves at the expense of those many thousands of people.

The will of the corrupt continues to grind its way through a people desperate to lift themselves out of poverty and into a more prosperous future. It must be sickening to the stomach for them to see this play out while their day-to-day needs remain unmet.

There would be a lots of money flowing through the local economy, supporting local businesses and creating the need for infrastructure investment and all the jobs that come with that.

AVZ holders collectively would likely donate more than this to various initiatives in DRC. Hell, there’s possibly individual SHs with 10+ mil shares that given significant SP appreciation could donate more than the entire CCP. What a fucken slap in face from the CCP

Maybe to really drive the point home I'd be more than happy for avz to donate 2 million as long as it was promoted properly. Seams like an opportunity to me .

I guess we can only hope that Felix and his administration are equally peeved about Chins'a parsimonious $1m aid package, and finally see through China's self-serving propaganda in order to make the right call on Manono when the time comes. However, I'm not holding my breath while the same low-life retain their influential positions in Cominiere and CAMI in particular.

Still, all is not lost. July is just a month away and they will be getting nervous as their negotiating window closes and the ICC deadline approaches.

Just have to hope that FT actually had " amicable " agreements with President Evil , that he got what he wanted in regards to a better arrangement with past mining contracts from the Kabila regime and told Evil to tell his " pack dogs " ( zijin ) to back off from Manono and that he would do the same to Cominiere, so as to award AVZ the ML and allow the battery hub vision to become a reality.

CATL / CATH , SHENZHEN, GANGFENG & KALON finally get their lithium & tin supply that they desperately need!!

That common sense approach would not only provide the DRC with a much needed boost to its finances in years to come, therefore a boost to the locals living conditions , but would also improve relations with Australia and boost its wretched reputation within the international community as a place to invest.

On the chinese equation, relations with Australia would get more of a boost , which currently is on the slight improve with China taking the brakes off trade sanctions with timber , coal and potentially other commodities ......

But what will the reality be and when ?
