* Lol - Check this out, You know you're in the right Stock at the right time when you read that they ( China ) are so desperate for the stuff that they will go to just about any length or ( Height ) to get their hands on such a Piddly amount of Spod to satisfy their insatiable hunger atm, as

Chinese scientists discover huge lithium deposit in Everest region

An official science publication in China is trumpeting what its quoted geologists called a “breakthrough” discovery of lithium in the same region as Mount Everest.
blank.gif

The hard-rock resource has the potential to host the third-biggest mine of its kind in China, according to ScienceNet.cn, a website backed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, or CAS.

It’s located some 3 kilometers from the Qiongjiagang peak in the region of the world’s highest mountain.

To be sure, it’s an early-stage discovery, and there’s plenty of global mineral deposits that look promising but end up not being viable.

But the world needs massive amounts of new lithium supplies to feed accelerating demand in electric vehicles and energy storage.

And for China, finding viable domestic sources would be welcome as the country relies on imports for more than 70% of its supplies, even as it dominates global battery production.

The newly-discovered resource is a type of lithium-bearing rock called spodumene,
an alternative to the brine lakes that dominate supply in China and in South America.

The ore deposit on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau could hold as much as 1.0125 million tons of lithium oxide, according to the cited CAS geologists.

The project is still in the very first of four stages, with the final being full exploration to come up with a detailed mine plan, according to the report.

The potential mine site is also far from the core nature reserve of Mount Everest and has suitable transport links, the cited experts said.

The media attention on this mineral find comes with prices of lithium rocketing higher amid tight supplies.

Lithium carbonate in China gained more than 400% in China last year, and nearly 50% so far in 2022.

*Remind me again how many Tons of Lithium there is sitting at Manono waiting for a ML along with a Chinese Kitty CAT sitting patiently with a Big Grin and a Smug look ready to devour the friggin' lot if given the opportunity atm ;)😹

The extra 15% will be worth every cent we pay , as long as we retain it . This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for shareholders & holding just 51% of an asset of this critical importance doesn't give me too much confidence that we can control it for the long term .
I'm hoping when AVZ said in the announcement that they will be "focussed on multiple aspects of the battery metals supply chain" , that this means the tin will be coming online sooner than what I thought . Nige always seems to downplay this , but we need take advantage of every opportunity that we have . Putting the tin on the back burner for a couple of years would be a huge waste of an opportunity .
Surely with the happenings of the last few weeks we are finally going to get this show on the road .
Yes exactly we need that 15% both in terms of retaining control with a good buffer and let's be honest 50% of the project despite the size starts to sound a bit lousy given the years of work avz has put in in terms of the final returns for long suffering shareholders. Imo anyway.
CATH got a bargain but we gain a lot of expertise, hopefully the 15% turns out in a favourable way to AVZ shareholders.
Agree re the tin, I'd also like to hear more about the tantalum and niobium as well as the tin.

Ditto, Thanks mate :)

So why am i here you may ask

Well, This kick in the Nuts for starters

Please consider this a warning.

HC Admin Team

Plus the fact I've always hated the New Platform ( Even though i still used the Old one on my / this old Desktop Computer tbo )

But mainly because of what happened to my / our old mate JAG and the circumstances around it

So i've decided to take a stand, give HC the Flick for as long as i can, use other methods to keep in touch

See how this New "Home away from Home" goes, as i'm not a Big Fan of Twitter, Not interested in Face Time or Whats Up either tbo

I'd really like everyone on HC to Stop Posting for an Hour or 4 as a way to get their attention / change their tune / lift their game tbo

Anyway, Let's see how it pans out here for a while, see if it's infiltrated by Trolls and if it takes off like an AVZ Lithium powered Rocket 🚀

Crap, look at the time, gotta go catch up with the Count about some AVZ Ale before Bed 🥱

Bottoms Up

*Just thought I'd like to share this Welcoming Message from our Administrator zeeb0t that i received yesterday,

Hello Frank!

Welcome to The Stock Exchange Forum.

I just wanted to send you a message to wish you a warm welcome and to give you a couple of starting out tips.

1. First, from the home page - check out the "Stock Watchlist" section at the top where you will most importantly setup your watched stocks and notification settings - especially important if you want to know about new threads, including company news and announcements.

2. Again, from the home page - you can then click "My Watchlist" to view your watched stock forums and catch up on all the things we've been talking about there. If you find no threads, feel free to open discussion on your stock by being the first to start one!

3. Finally, from the home page - under the Top Rated Posts and Most Discussed Threads, you'll find a list of all new content you've not yet read.
To the right of the top of that table, will be a filters option. Click that and configure that view how you'd like it.

I recommend "Unread threads", "Watched content", and "Threads in which you've participated". Don't forget to also choose "Save as default" so you don't need to set this up every time.

If you have any other comments, questions, or suggestions - hit reply and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Enjoy!

Got the same message Frank, don't know if anyone else noticed but the price chart from TradingView at the top of the page is pretty good too. Better than what is available to me in my trading app tbh at least on mobile. I like this site a lot better than the other one myself. Good emoji's and a lot of the functionality is more modern and better implemented. Personal messaging is great and something sorely lacking on HC. Anyway great forum and my second largest holding of BRN is all over it so happy days. (y)
Hopefully some more good people migrate and without the trolls.

France should start mining lithium at home, minister says

France should start exploiting its own lithium resources to meet increased demand stemming from a shift away from fossil fuels, Barbara Pompili, the country’s environment minister, said in a video interview published on Thursday by business daily Les Echos.
blank.gif

France needs “long-term import contracts … but also to get lithium at home,” Pompili told the paper in the interview.

“If we want to become a society which emits less greenhouse gases, we have to face the consequences: We need materials like lithium.”

Lithium, used in batteries for electric vehicles and smartphones, is seen as a key resource for the 21st century.

Electric cars are a key plank of European Union plans to cut emissions, and the bloc is trying to reduce reliance on battery supplies from Asia through projects with European-based carmakers and battery specialists.

But almost all the critical minerals currently come from outside the continent, with China dominating the global supply chain.

Paris’s lithium supply also relies on French miner Eramet, which is seeking to ramp up production at a major deposit it owns in Argentina.

Les Echos on Thursday said France had detected domestic lithium deposits and first exploration efforts were ongoing in the eastern Alsace region.

“If it shows we have our own lithium at home, we must take the responsibility to extract it on our territory because we will do so under good conditions,” Pompili said.

Elsewhere in Europe, domestic mining efforts have faced protests. In Serbia, anti-mining protests have become a headache for the government, which in response to fierce public opposition revoked licences for Rio Tinto.

Accelerating sales of electric vehicles have pushed demand for lithium to multi-year highs, along with other critical commodities such as nickel and cobalt.

Analysts say a lack of investment in capacity due to sliding prices in the three years to 2021 means a supply deficit is likely to last for some years.

*In other News, It's great to see Nissan getting their Shit together and their House in order for the EV Future, as

Nissan to make two new EVs in $A700m factory upgrade

blank.gif

Japanese carmaker Nissan announced on Friday it will make two all-new electric vehicles under both the Nissan badge and that of its luxury brand Infiniti at its Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant in Mississippi, where it currently makes three utes and the Altima sedan.

A $US500 million ($A700 million) upgrade for its Canton facility will see 2,000 employees retrained in readiness for the era of electrification as the carmaker works towards 15 all-electric models by 2030 under its $US18 billion ($A25 billion) Nissan Ambition 2030 plan.

Nissan currently builds the Altima sedan, as well as the Frontier utility truck (known as a pickup in the US and ute in Australia), and two Titan ute models at the Canton car factory, employing 5,000 staff.

The carmaker did not specify what the two new models will be, but images shared hint at new electric crossover models.

An all-electric Nissan ute concept teased in November doesn’t look to be one of the new EV models going from the images shared by Nissan.

Speaking on the new announcement, COO for Nissan Ashwani Gupta said,

“Today’s announcement is the first of several new investments that will drive the EV revolution in the United States.”

“Nissan making a strong investment in Canton’s future, bringing the latest technology, training and process to create a truly best-in-class EV manufacturing team.”

With a target to reach 40% EVs by 2030, Nissan’s Canton upgrade will play an important role.

The carmaker already makes the Nissan Leaf at its Smyrna, Tennessee factory with 14,239 sales in 2021 – the fifth best year of the now twelve-year-old vehicle which has been around since the early days of the electric vehicle market.

Maybe AVZ could offer DRC AVZ shares as payment for the remaining 15 ownership in Dathomir.
ie, AVZ and the DRC work out a price for the 15% the DRC owns and wants to sell to achieve 10% Dathomir ownership free carried and get paid with AVZ shares at an agreed formula.
That way AVZ remains in full control of Dathomir, the DRC has a vested interest in AVZ being successful and will get paid dividends, when AVZ reaches that stage, no fricked capital raising requirements where existing shareholders get f**d over by share brokers/money providers and the like.
Maybe the proposal is too simple, but it is a thought bubble after a shiraz.
Oops Dathcom, not Dathomi, all them Dath's is confusing.

I'm not a chart person, I retired a while back.
Normal routine coming back at work was to check all trends to come up to date with what happened.
History, History, History so important.
As the French say l'histoire se répète.
Maybe all frogs are squiggly lines freaks, I'll have to ask my friends about that....

Trends are simply not a forecasting tool, in the sharemarket there are too many events affecting events on the market.
However we should never forget what happened in the past and how it affects the market.
Trending is a great tool, however it should be used in conjunction with the affairs of the day and the fundamentals of the company.

*In Non Quad-Bike / Girlfriend related News, I see where,

Felix Tshisekedi chairs the 41st Council of Ministers by videoconference

1645247868118.png

The Head of State Félix Tshisekedi chairs, this Friday, February 18, from his office in the city of the African Union, the 41st Council of Ministers by videoconference.

At the end of this council, a report will be given as usual, by the Minister of Communication and Media and Government Spokesman Patrick Muyaya.

Undoubtedly, the council will rely on electoral, security and diplomatic issues, with the arrival of the Belgian military and royal couple.

*In other News,

From 1817 to the present day, how lithium became indispensable

1645248469346.png

Indispensable to electric cars and smartphones, lithium has become one of the most popular metals in the world.

"France must extract lithium on its territory," said Minister Barbara Pompili. But this activity sometimes worries conservationists.

Many call it the "new white gold."

In just a few decades, lithium has become one of the most popular materials in the world.

Without it, smartphones and laptops wouldn't power up, and most electric cars would just sit there.

Because this alkaline metal, the lightest of all, is essential for the manufacture of most batteries installed in everyday electronic devices.

"The challenge of lithium is to be able to lower our greenhouse gas emissions and switch to electric, or all-electric", explains Barbara Pompili, Minister for Ecological Transition.

The government has mobilized 1 billion euros to secure its supply.

The first battery presented to Napoleon

In this video, "Les Echos" briefly reviews the history of the first battery (without lithium) presented to Napoleon Bonaparte in 1801, then the discovery of lithium in 1817, up to the first experiments with lithium-ion batteries in the years 1970, and their launch from 1991 for Sony camcorders.

Today, it is the electric car that is driving the demand for lithium.

The documentary details the key role played by lithium in the functioning of everyday electronic devices, and the different methods that allow it to be recovered, in rocks or brines, such as those of the Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia, which is home to the largest salt desert in the world.

While Australia, Chile and Argentina are currently the world's largest producers - with different extraction techniques - other countries could join the race.

From California to Europe, several projects are under consideration. France, which has classified lithium as a "strategic material", would have deposits, and several experiments have already taken place.

“France must extract lithium on its territory”, declares, exclusively in this documentary from Les Echos, the Minister of Ecological Transition Barbara Pompili.

But lithium mining projects regularly raise the concerns of local residents and environmental activists.

Their fear: damage to ecosystems, fauna or flora.

In Serbia, for example, opponents blocked important road crossings, pushing the government to abandon, in early 2022, a gigantic and highly controversial lithium mine project in the Jadar Valley.

In France, voices are already raised against possible projects.

In this context, a sector is emerging: recycling.

The objective: to recover the lithium in end-of-life batteries for reuse. Because with dependent industries, lithium needs should be multiplied by up to 42 in the next twenty years, according to the International Energy Agency.

*While in other News,

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lutundula is part of the delegation representing the DRC at the 6th European Union – African Union summit in Brussels, Belgium.

In an interview with French media, the head of Congolese diplomacy reaffirmed his determination to work for the success of the first five-year term of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi.

“I am loyal to the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi. I work for its success. His record will also be mine and we are working for the well-being of the people,” he said.

Christophe Lutundula also returned to the absence of the Congolese head of state at the EU-AU summit.

According to him, it was absolutely not necessary for Felix Tshisekedi to be there, especially since these meetings are the result of what has already been achieved, in particular by the ministerial meeting and the committee of ambassadors in Addis Ababa.

“The president (Félix Tshisekedi) has always said it, the vocation of a country of openness, of partnership is there and confirmed.

So there are no privileged partners.

(But) We have traditional partners and we do not intend to give up on these partnerships.

The proof is that we are there (at the EU-AU summit Editor's note).

There is a full diplomatic agenda and what is being done here is the final phase, it is work that began with the ministerial meeting which was continued by the committee of ambassadors in Addis Ababa.

It is not absolutely necessary for him to come,” he explained.

More than 80 Heads of State and Government are present in Brussels, to talk about security, governance, migration, economy, health and education and the energy transition.

The objective is to renovate relations between Europe and Africa.

The Congolese delegation is made up of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Finance, the Budget and other experts.

* Then in other News, I noticed the,

Creation of an Investment and Guarantee Bank: Professor Omeonga talks about the importance of this structure for business development in the DRC

The Congolese Government is keen on the implementation of the investment and guarantee bank (BIG) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. An initiative of the National Minister of Industry Julien Paluku.

To do this, the Prime Minister has recently launched the workshop for the restitution of the feasibility study for the establishment of this structure.

The latter aims, according to the government, to guarantee public and private investments in order to promote the economic development of the country.

Questions may arise around the operation of this bank, but also its line of demarcation compared to the operation of other structures such as the Industrial Promotion Fund (FPI).

Thus, the editorial staff of Géopolis Hebdo contacted the professor and researcher in Economics, teacher at the National Pedagogical University (UPN) Nicot Omeonga who read it.

According to Professor Nicot Omeonga, an investment and guarantee bank has mainly 3 functions. “The first function is to advise companies and those who want to do business, therefore investors.

Secondly, its vocation is to help companies with long-term financing, either by itself or with other banks.

Finally, it allows companies to enter the stock market, either to benefit from financing, or to place their financing in terms of shares, bonds and other financial mechanisms he says, before also indicating that investment banks allow the emergence of sustainable investments that are still lacking in our country.

According to this researcher in economics, at the accession of its independence, the DRC had at least 6,500 industrial units.

20 years later, in 1980, we went from 1500. In 2010, there were 110 industries and today the country has less than 100 industries.

While to talk about economic development, “it is first and foremost to have pillars, and the pillars here are industries, SMEs.” he points out.

The DRC is not lacking in structures that can promote investments, such as the FPI (Industry Promotion Fund).

Professor Omeonga wonders why he is not doing this role?

Because, he adds, it is the same that we currently want to attribute to the Investment and Guarantee Bank.

The creation of this financing institution is a priority that is aligned with the Government's action program for the period 2021-2023.

This was stated by the Prime Minister, Sama-Lukonde, at the launching ceremony of the feasibility study restitution workshop relating to the implementation of the BIG.
