AVZ Discussion 2022

Anyone find it interesting that Commiere on x has been very silent for at least a week now and Ty has picked up the slack. I wouldn’t bother engaging with the psychopath that will probably sell his own family for a quick buck.

Wish our management would update us on what this actually means ? Frustrating with the lack of detail from management
Hi Cumquat,

I have searched on the Internet for more detail but couldnt find anything - I can only make the assumption that ICSID have not published any detail as of yet. We may need this to happen - but I am guessing.

They went to ground when Moise Katambe called them out for massive corruption.

Last I heard at the ICSID was that we we're requesting provisional measures against the DRC for not complying with the orders, specifically to change the register at CAMI.

This change might be the issuing of fines to the DRC government.

Also, surely we are expecting the ICC fines against Cominiere any day now.

Oh and also, the DRC government is meant to have been official formed now. We should expect news on that with the list of ministers.

Which means we can progress with the signing of the MoU.

Given the DRC have already been reminded that the interim orders are binding, this will be the ICSID Tribunal 'draw(ing) the appropriate conclusions from any failure to comply with the Interim Orders.' from the Disputes Update from 13th March.

Not only does this mean likely financial and possibly other penalties already, but non-compliance with interim orders will be taken into account and viewed very unfavourably with regards to a final award.

What is procedural order 4?
It refers to the number of pineapples involved and their placement.

The US-led Mineral Security Partnership welcomes the new mining procurement and processing contract between the STL DRC and Umicore Belgium This contract aims to guarantee transparency in the production, processing and recycling of critical minerals in order to help the DRC take full advantage of its subsoil. An Improvement in the position of the USA vis-à-vis the DRC

Procedural Order No. 4 can vary depending on the case, but typically it addresses procedural matters such as the organization of the arbitration process, deadlines for submissions, hearings, and other procedural matters related to the arbitration proceedings.

Imperative for the parties involved in the arbitration to carefully review and comply with Procedural Order No. 4 to ensure that the process proceeds smoothly and efficiently.

That doesn't sound too interesting of an announcement tbh
