AVZ Discussion 2022

Hi Azzler,

My opinion is that you are correct. There are serious ramification in the DRC ignoring the ICC and especially the ICSID.

The DRC have been wanting to get off the Treasury Grey List, and that there are very serious potential consequence of the DRC ignoring the directions/rulings of the ICSID - keeping in mind that the ICSID is affiliated with the World Bank which is apparently holding back $1 Billion +.

I dont believe that it is particularly difficult to flag consistent illegal activity that have been facilitated by bad actors against both Dathcom and AVZ. My opinion is that fighting this out in the International Courts/Tribunals will serve shareholders well.

If Sin Bin and Commiere want these cases shut down before any severe adverse judgements are potentially reached - they would be best to offer a very good price to buy AVZ shares in Dathcom.

I am more than happy to have this play out to the end - however I would prefer this sorted sooner than later. And no, you don't want Sin Bin or any other Chinese company anywhere near Manono as they are likely to continue to be an unnecessary distraction.

Regards,

That's OK if you are a relatively young person . For some of us older fogey Mother Nature may have tapped us on the shoulder by then .

Finance minister Kazadi in Washington discussing the DRC budget - I’m sure the Manono lithium mine was discussed during this meeting at length. Kazadi posted this to his personal twitter not long after

Wombat,

I will finish the quote in its entirety: "I am more than happy to have this play out to the end - however I would prefer this sorted sooner than later."

nice words in his twitter feed but I'm so sick of all these pricks talking so much crap and not actually doing anything other than accepting more brown bags. Is this time different, lets see but feels like we've heard all this before.

btw thanks for posting

Probably took more effort to write that post than it would to follow the ICSID interim order and update the CAMI portal. Always lots of words but no action to be seen, still waiting...

People keep saying that, but it assumes they GAF.

As long as their personal pockets are lined, the rest of the country can continue to suffer.

Azz, don't expect the DRC to be swayed or embarrassed by this in any way - you will only be disappointed. Work on the premiss that they don't give a flying F#ck what the west thinks about them!!
I'd say DRC officials could'nt give a fuck about anything other than their own personal gains and they could'nt give a fuck about what it costs their own image, people or country either. Ths is the norm for these criminals.
We've yet to see anything that proves otherwise, hopefully ICSID and the threat of losing billions that they can steal puts the squeeze on them...
Pity it takes so fucking long.

Re: finance , I see RNU secured a $185 mil loan from the 'Australian Govt $4B Critical minerals facility'. Surely AVZ's short term cash requirements would qualify for a loan here if needed.

Why?... this is to protect an asset critical to the western World. I don't know what the criteria is for access to these funds, but if this fiasco has the profile that is alleged on the world stage, then a $4b critical minerals warchest surely could fund a $20m litigation fund.

Pro tip, Google their website. To know the criteria.

It would be an interesting exercise to work out the opportunity cost to the Australian government in capital gains tax if the Chinese were to steal Manono. Would have to be close to a billion dollars at current price and much more at the all time high. $20 million is just a few cabbage leaves in comparison to the potential gains for the ATO!!

That's a really fucking good point, I hadn't even considered how huge it would be in tax revenue.

However, I'm fairly confident funding is already sorted, with multiple options.

Agreed and admire your confidence. Well if the funding is sorted maybe the government can contribute with some visible, impactful diplomatic support for their potential hundreds of millions in tax revenue.
Did anyone get a response back from 60 minutes, 4 corners or Pauline Hanson etc.. I have emailed many of the media organisations and heard crickets. Baffling!

I sent my mate the matt birney article and he couldn't make sense of it. The guy is a data scientist too, smart guy.

Looks like the normal person who hasn't heard of AVZ may not understand what's gone on even in a well written article. Maybe why news outlets haven't touched it??

I sent it to my partner (PhD in finance). Said it was well written and an amazing story. Then she said if we'd met before suspension she would have said 'Stay away. Very far away from the DRC'. She is from Botswana though.......
