AVZ Discussion 2022

Capitalised does not necessarily equate to expenditure - it means they’ve added $7.3m to the value of the asset, which may have come from prior opex drilling and sampling costs.

If there are any real accountants out there, please correct me if I’m wrong. @Carlos Danger?
From a real accountant (me, but keep that between you and I ok?)

Forget what it says and focus on cash ONLY.

We have NO CASHFLOW INWARDS, so all you can do is control the outflow. We’re a minnow company and until we can generate sales, cash flow is first, second and third priorities.

Any world class BOD knows that too.

My guess is that the BOD feel that continued negative outcomes (losses) show AVZ in a bad light and evil fuckers like zijin will attempt to screw the facts and exploit the situation. “Look at those companies making losses - let us in and we’ll guarantee profits” kind of bullshit..

Capitalizing money into a Balance Sheet gives the appearance of a stronger financial position. My question here is when do they expect to start writing it off and over what period of time.

"We’re a minnow company and until we can generate sales, cash flow is first, second and third priorities"

And even when we can generate sales cash flow in business is still first, second and third priorities....well actually just behind the customer ;)

Don’t mind the timing of this article. It was posted on the ABC News website 50 mins ago. Could help to bolster our position/argument.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accuses China of using slave labour to produce lithium

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has linked the production of lithium in China to slave labour and denounced the rise of authoritarianism around the world, calling on democracies to live up to their ideals through trade and foreign policy.

Key points:

  • Just Trudeau condemned China as he discussed his own country's efforts to ramp up lithium production
  • Diplomatic tensions between Canada and China have been running high since the detention of a Huawei executive in 2018
  • The United States has also accused China of using forced labour in sectors such as mining and construction

"If we don't step up, other forces will step in," Mr Trudeau told the Council on Foreign Relations in New York on Friday.
"As like-minded democracies, as major economies, we need to work together to meet this moment."
He condemned China as he discussed his own country's efforts to ramp up production of lithium, which is used in electric vehicle and other batteries.
He said Canada had significant sources of lithium, but China had made strategic choices over decades that had made it by far the world's largest producer.
"If we're honest … the lithium produced in Canada is going to be more expensive because we don't use slave labour," Mr Trudeau said.
"Because we put forward environmental responsibility as something we actually expect to be abided by. Because we count on working with, in partnership, with Indigenous peoples, paying their living wages, expecting security and safety standards."
A representative for the Chinese embassy in Ottawa did not respond to a request for comment.
Canada last year announced a tougher policy on critical mineral investment — particularly from China — as it worked to shore up its domestic supply after the global pandemic exposed supply chain problems.
"If the pandemic taught us anything, it's resilience, redundancy and reliability in our supply chains," Mr Trudeau said.

Accusations of forced labour in Xinjiang

The United States has accused China of using forced labour in sectors including mining and construction.
Last year, a US law took effect banning imports from China's Xinjiang region over concerns about forced labour.
In December, the United Auto Workers union called on automakers to shift their entire supply chain out of Xinjiang after a report by Britain's Sheffield Hallam University suggested that nearly every major automaker had significant exposure to products made with forced labour.

China's frontier of fear

Imagery captured over a remote and highly volatile region of western China reveals a growing network of internment camps used to indoctrinate vast numbers of the region's population.

China denies abuses in Xinjiang, a major cotton producer that also supplies much of the world's materials for solar panels.
Chinese firms also own, operate or finance most of the Democratic Republic of Congo's cobalt mines, the US Labour Department said in a recent report.
"Our research shows that lithium-ion batteries are produced with an input — cobalt — made by child labour," it said.
Diplomatic tensions between Canada and China have been running high since the detention of Huawei Technologies executive Meng Wanzhou in 2018 and Beijing's subsequent arrest of two Canadians on spying charges.
In November, Canada ordered three Chinese companies to divest from Canadian critical minerals, citing national security.
In response, China accused Ottawa of using national security as a pretext and said the divestment order broke international commerce and market rules.

Been invested in AVZ for quite a while now over 4-5 years

Its given me a chance to pick up a few photos and documents from different archives held by the French and Belgium newspapers

Basically bought everything Manono mining related for a few years (was part of my research on Manono and its background) - so have a decent archive built up, will post some of the more interesting one's, whilst its' a bit quiet and we are waiting for news.

This photo is a view of Carriere de l’Este from the top of the Tantalex tailings dump from either 1948 or 1952

It shows how Geomines created the tailings dumps, and the carrier belts to the processing plant which is somewhere behind the Dathcom base camp, or what remains as per video from Deboss. The belts ran for quite a few kms.

This is effectively our main pit in its formation. (25 odd years before it was abandoned), back of photo image below confirms this is Carriere de l’Este , and not one of the dozens of other dumps in area.

Hi can anyone enlighten me with the dates of the ICC court cases please. The only one I can seem to find is the Jin Cheng ICC Arbitration Proceedings 3-4 July.
According to DLA piper the median duration is 22 months. Because of the damning evidence against Jin Cheng ZINJIN surely this could be resolved faster?

Another posting from the Manono Archives

This one is particularly relevant, as it reflects the strong will and desire of the people of Manono to succeed.
The Katanga province is continually let down by the DRC Government and the local government.

AVZ is trying to help the people of Manono and assist in rebuilding their livelihood's , economy and to give them hope for a future.

It's the current government and Ministers that let them down. (Mining licence is the hope that villagers are waiting on)

Pushed to the wall in the 1960 this is how they (Manono) reacted against the government.

Happy for these images to be circulated, as a wake up call to DRC Government as to what happens when you oppress a region of basic rights and fail to provide them with hope.

Manono village town halls have already made it clear they do not want Zijin involved Dathcom, and Zijin is one of the root causes of loss of hope for Manono at present. (Substiute the name of the Katanga Strongman with one of our many actors identified)

(Images below may also include pictures of past Elders in Manono, so if viewed by any Manono residents please be aware of this)

Hey Nut, I've been off the air in the South Pacific for a week & haven't had the chance to catch up with my reading. Have we made any progress or are we still fucked?

To summarise:

If you thought we were fucked last week, then status quo prevails

But we are a week closer to being not as fucked as we were last week

53 Drill holes, rigs run around 10-15k a day.. Say 1.5 million total to drill all 53 holes...

5.5 Million unaccounted for wtf are they doing?!

Season 8 Wtf GIF by The Office
That is one of the most insightful posts on here in months. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON! As these dogs have more of my money than a fucking house. I’d actually like to know. I think we’d all like to know. How come it’s costing 4 times what it should? DRC premium sure. But 4 fucking times?

I know my good friend....I have an accounting/finance background somewhat surprisingly!

Totally agreed on cash flow right now being the absolute priority...it pretty much always is

I then noted once you are up and running and generating sales then the customer has to be the number one priority.....although very, very, very, very, very, very, very closely followed by cashflow! :ROFLMAO:;)

Hopefully the BoD can prudently navigate the cashflow situation now and then we can get this beast into production, generate sales, absolutely look after our customers and then get the opportunity to manage one fucking HUUUUGE cashflow! :D(y)

More from my Manono Archives on the oppression of the township of Manono (privately held and acquired over many years)

Again this is from 1960

Foreign governments had to step in to help the villagers of Manono

The DRC government did nothing in this period

Here is an Irish guard helping a villager who opposed the governments oppression, in a peace-full manner.

Now is the time for the DRC Government to make amends and correct the errors of the past

Manono residents will remember this period of their history.

They are proud of their heritage , values and community.

Here is the opportunity for the DRC Government to correct wrongdoings in the past with the mining licence for villagers wellbeing.

Politicians need to stand up and make amends for predecessors wrong doings

If they want to win elections the correction of past decisions must be made.

Tribal elders must be aware of this period in Manono's history

Mining licence is the way forward for residents of the Katanga province

Politicians if you want to win votes in the next election , you need to honour the elders of the past in region.

The people of Manono need your support and commitments to the prosperity of the region

Due to file sizes images may appear as links rather than displayed images, click on link to view.

Again images may be freely circulated , subject to disclaimers on containing passed elders as per below.

With today’s world there is absolutely no excuse for these people to be living the way they are

Working within the mining industry of Australia is absolutely life changing… you can only imagine how life changing it would be for people living in a 3rd world country.

AVZ BOD need to reign in the spending. There are plenty of other companies doing more drilling in places all over the world running on the smell of an oily rag!
$27M aint going to cut it, they know it, we know it. Will be interesting to see how a cap raise plays out if it's still in suspension.
There is no freaking way anyone will put their hand in their pocket unless it's at a huge discount, so it may have to come from CATH..

Radio silence on the other hand is killing everyone.. A fortnightly update would be nice Nigel.

In regards to the DRC sweeping out the dog crap corruption - I'm still of the belief it will not happen in my lifetime. It requires a huge culture change both up and down the food chain of society.

The DRC seems to be having a shed load of meetings, agreements discussed, frameworks drawn up - BUT NO ACTION. These guys are typical governments with no drive to push things forward.

I want this mine to succeed, but I still think it's a long way off, there is no way AVZ will start digging up dirt before year end.
“A fortnightly update” would be nice ???? Its been over 5 months since AGM & not 1 issued by our fearless leader plus himself admitting at last meeting his so-called communication skills needed improving …its a damn shame he doesnt forget signing his pay check with this gay abandon of forgetfulness …our BoD credibility ,a complete joke
