Mr President. Your people need a strong leader who can improve their living standards. DRC has lost close to $100 million dollars by delaying the Monono mining licence. Imagine how many Schools , Hospitals, Roads and Clean drinking water could have been delivered. Must act NOW

Does this mean a different kind of proceedings would be required? Where would they happen, DRC courts? That's not ideal for us, we can't win in that corrupt environment. With the dathomir case we ignored DRC court rulings as lacking jurisdiction but if its determined that JC aren't in the JVA, where would jurisdiction be? Would this require us starting a separate ICC case against Cominiere to determine the legitimacy of the transfer, given they ARE in the JVA?

Colour me confused. Anyone got any thoughts? I'm probably over complicating this in my head but to me it doesn't add up as explained in this announcement.

Think this one goes back to the RCE7102 documents I posted last week, which was AVZ's in-country (DRC) case stating Cominiere's 15% transfer was illegal, which has now been withdrawn.

Zijin's case at the ICC is some bullshit about AVZ's abuse (AFR quoted ZJ lawyer saying as much), and AVZ are about to have the case dismissed because Zijin has no right to take AVZ to ICC according to JVA.

I believe the dismissal at ICC would be precedence for AVZ to say that ICC doesn't even recognize ZJ as a shareholder, and then work from there. But I'm not a lawyer so not sure how these cross jurisdiction shenanigans work.

In the DRC, it doesn't seem like AVZ need to even engage with ZJ. They could probably just take it to a higher court to confirm the sale was illegal, ultimatley bypassing the need to engage ZJ. (Not sure if they'd have to restart a case against Cominiere, or if there's a way they can just void the sale from a top down approach).

The above also largely aligns with the idea of 'playing nice' with other shareholders, namely Cominiere. And since ICC ruled that ZJ is not a shareholder, we can tell them to fuck off.

It's a pretty good game plan from the Chinese really. Not the first rodeo. I think it's pretty clear they intend to do whatever they can to hold up the development of Manono until there's no more willingness on the government's part to let it drag on any longer. And then use their corrupt subverted Ministers and other high-level figures to slide it towards Chinese interests alone, spreading bags and whispering in the ear of the top guys that AVZ don't have the experience, funding or technical capability to pull it off, but the Chinese do, and suggesting we are only holding it up as speculators in any case. With undoubted support of the Chinese government in the form of the ambassador making promises of infrastructure and military aid, alongside perhaps tying it also to support for their battery production plant plans. Could CATL/CATH be hedging their bets with a foot in each camp?

So there's a question around this next ICC hearing. Given that's its only hearing half the case (broken into two separate parts at our request), the first is to find out whether the ICC has jurisdiction because Jin Cheng don't form part of the JV. If we happen to win that and the second part (whether the Cominiere-Zijin sale was legitimate) doesn't get heard, does that mean the ownership dispute remains unresolved? Or does that essentially win both elements of the case? Because I can't see Zijin just fading into the distance should it be decided that there is no grounding for the case to be heard at the ICC.

I just wish some of you investors knew what you're talking about but sadly you don't. Let me be clear we are in good hands what's more I sleep well at night

Not nitpicking imo - its not a bad piece of news, however its another opportunity for Chinese whispers or intentional disinformation to be conveyed to FT. I would be much happier if he viewed the happenings with his own eyeballs instead. Still, at least there seems to be some action.

Fucking sell it to him FFS, none of those pissant ministers are going to fuck around with a major. They can only get away with it because it's AVZ.

As for the hot crapper esque 'just sell then' my answer respectfully as possible is get fucked.
I've spent a lot of time digging for information and sharing it here and in my opinion every shareholder is entitled to be a bit frustrated given the situation. Both in terms of misleading information coming from management leading up to suspension and from the farcical, corrupt DRC political system and the Chinese interference that is threatening our investment.
You might be sitting pretty, but I never expected to have access to my funds tied up going on 12 months and likely considerably longer than that. I know for a fact many are in the same boat.
If you don't like what I've got to say give me a sound reason and we'll discuss it, not some one liner bullshit.
