Ventora – JC Mputu case: Filimbi denounces a “shame” trial and calls for the Dan Gertler – government agreement to be revisited

Members of the Filimbi citizen movement organized a sit-in on Monday, March 20, 2023, in front of the Kinshasa/Gombe Peace Court.

The objective was to denounce what they describe as a trial of "shame" in the case between the Ventora group of Israeli businessman Dan Gertler and Congolese activist Jean-Claude Mputu of the platform "Le Congo is not for sale”.

According to Mino Bopomi, coordinator of this citizens' movement, this demonstration consisted in telling the judge not to give in to intimidation coming from the Israeli businessman who, according to him, would earn 200,000 US dollars a day thanks to the agreement signed with the government.

According to him, this trial is a way for Dan Gertler to intimidate the Congolese who want to defend the interests of the Republic.

Furthermore, Mino Bopomi called on the Congolese government to revisit the agreement reached with the Ventora group which, he said, benefits Dan Gertler to the detriment of the Congolese.

It should be noted that the Kinshasa/Gombe Peace Court, sitting in repressive matters, has referred this case to July 3rd.

Appreciate your point but really! We just have to sit around with silence from management while other mineral producers can meet the head of state to ensure investments. If this BOD is so valuable 2mill plus a year they cost us. Why are we not at the table? This attitude of be polite and be respectful is what got us here in the first place. “Don’t question Klaus”. “Don’t question Langford” meanwhile other posts discuss footy and unrelated issues but don’t get your attention. I want your attention. I want the sentiment of shareholders to reflect the frustration and anger and I want the BOD to fear for THEIR OWN PERSONAL CAPITAL. Because frankly they have defrauded us. They have claimed control where they have none, they have claimed expertise where they have none and now you’re drinking the coolaid!
"Ongoing disagreements, conflicts and differences between the shareholders that have stalled the development of the Manono Project and the resulting deadlock prevents the State from benefiting from the development of PE 13359."

I'm not sure how Nigel's Sept 2024 fits into that observation by the MoM .She wouldn't be too pleased is my guess. If the MoM/Felix are serious about getting this up and running I would expect an outcome soon . If it's drags on I think she will strip us of our ownership and rights . We can then take the DRC Gov to Court and hopefully get some money in about 12 years time . Nigel is weighing all this up hopefully . If it does come to her making a Captain's Call then we will have to trade .

100% Back you here mate.
Not very hard to give some form of official update - imagine all of the retail shareholders who don't have twitter and don't get to hear about the secret behind the scenes info from the "people in the know".
Still haven't had any indication from the BoD about dropping their salaries to show some sort of empathy to the SH's. It's probably because they keep thinking "no point in dropping our salaries, this will all be sorted out next week" for the last 46 weeks...

Makes you even more angry when you consider the kind of jovial atmosphere that there was at the AGM in Nov with lots of laughs and then to disregard a large amount of online questions from uninformed shareholders. Guess they don't need to know the goings on of behind the scenes, they have the choice to sell out if they aren't happy with management, oh wait......

Any guesses on who the only selected tenderer is for pilot plant battery manufacture

View attachment 32708

The Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia will sign, on Monday, March 27, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and Afreximbank, in Kinshasa, the framework agreement for the creation of Special Economic Zones dedicated to the production of precursors for batteries and electric vehicles.

The Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku, said that this signature will take place after the two institutions have accompanied the two countries in the process of selecting the consultant who will be in charge of conducting the pre-feasibility study.

"Of the bids received from these three bidding companies, following the International Tender Notice issued, only one was selected," he said.

The signing of this framework agreement between the parties to the project is a prerequisite for the launch of this pre-feasibility study aimed at designing an implementation plan and an operational model for the creation and operation of the transboundary SEZ. It also intends to identify the main challenges to facilitate the creation and operation of the transboundary SEZ and to develop a financing plan and fund-raising strategies.

The Minister of Industry reassured that everything is being done to ensure that this ceremony is marked with all its solemnity for a better mobilization of partners and inaugurate the implementation process of the ambitious project of the value chain Batteries and Electric Vehicles (BVE) in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
But will CATL / CATH help AVZ resolve ownership issues & get ML for AVZ???

It's a pretty good game plan from the Chinese really. Not the first rodeo. I think it's pretty clear they intend to do whatever they can to hold up the development of Manono until there's no more willingness on the government's part to let it drag on any longer. And then use their corrupt subverted Ministers and other high-level figures to slide it towards Chinese interests alone, spreading bags and whispering in the ear of the top guys that AVZ don't have the experience, funding or technical capability to pull it off, but the Chinese do, and suggesting we are only holding it up as speculators in any case. With undoubted support of the Chinese government in the form of the ambassador making promises of infrastructure and military aid, alongside perhaps tying it also to support for their battery production plant plans. Could CATL/CATH be hedging their bets with a foot in each camp?

So there's a question around this next ICC hearing. Given that's its only hearing half the case (broken into two separate parts at our request), the first is to find out whether the ICC has jurisdiction because Jin Cheng don't form part of the JV. If we happen to win that and the second part (whether the Cominiere-Zijin sale was legitimate) doesn't get heard, does that mean the ownership dispute remains unresolved? Or does that essentially win both elements of the case? Because I can't see Zijin just fading into the distance should it be decided that there is no grounding for the case to be heard at the ICC.

It's not about the Project . It's about the Share Holders . This is a Public Company . Nigel must make a judgement based on the best outcome for the Share Holder . It could be $5 . It could 80cents . It could be 40cents .It cannot be Zero . He must accept a result/option that returns money (profit or loss) back to the share holder. Now it may well be there are no options and we are totally screwed . If that's the case then it is what it is . But to think investors would rather lose all their money than do a deal with these f--k sticks is ridiculous . Plenty of punters are multiple bags in front and will see a decent return even with a pineappling . imo

@MoneyBags1348

Regardless if and when AVZ regains its rights to Manono, FT complete inaction over the last 3.3 years with his mandate to quell corruption has resulted in his reputation being severely tarnished, the reputation of the DRC within the international community regards to mining investment goes further down the mire ( if thats even possible ) , the balance sheet continues to leak hundreds of millions of dollars , possibly billions and the locals continue to suffer dire lifestyle consequences............:mad::mad:

Its complete insanity and its all on FT watch..............what a utter wanker that prick is and a complete traitor to his country along with his multiple, unscrupulous corrupt ministers who continue to live a a lavish lifestyle on the back of the corrupt chinese actors who run the country unabated!!

When is that thick dick head going to learn that the chinese are using and abusing ?

Anyway, on to other topic matters.......

Thank fuck for small mercies that AVZ is still in lock down the last few weeks, cause the MACRO has completely shat itself, with 3 banks in the US on death row, causing contagion world wide, lithium sector has been smashed in particular with the double whammy of lithium spot prices diving more than 50% from their highs..........:eek:

View attachment 32651

View attachment 32652

Here is a couple of MACRO charts illustrating the carnage..........

That being said, both these charts are now over sold, which means a bullish wave up is just around the corner, representing a ideal situation if the Dathcom partners / DRC govt finally get their shit together , come to a agreement and get Roche Dure into construction ASAP, or we run the risk of missing out once again on a bullish cycle............which would result in me completely losing my shit !!!

FT , you hopeless fuck.....................PULL YOUR FUCKING FINGER OUT !

Or you dont have a hope of being re- elected............;)

I don't believe abusive comments towards the President is helpful to our cause BEISH. My approach has been to target the corruption in the DRC and use their Mining Week Events as another place to highlight this corruption. THE VUKA GROUP are promoting and sponsoring the DRC MINING WEEK EVENTS in June and September on Facebook and a number of other platforms

- Jacques Kyabula Katwe (Governor of Haut Katanga) is a speaker at the June event in Lubumbashi
- Zigin's Kamoa Copper has an Advisory Board Member speaking at the June event in Lubumbashi
- Zigin's Kamoa-Kakula Copper Mine is a Platinum sponsor

I don't see referring to the DRC as the Democratic Republic of Corruption as a personal attack on anyone in the Government, rather it's highlighting the fact that corruption is rife in the DRC Mining Sector and Jean Felix Mupande Kapwa (the DG of CAMI) is part of that corruption.

@cruiser51 added: "the current MD of Cominiere, Athanase MWAMBA MISAO, is in jail and the current Administrative and Financial Director, Alpha MONGA, is convicted to go to jail"

Now we have also seen Célestin Kibeya Kabemba (Acting MD of Cominiere) in the interview 'Cominiere's response to allegations of mining fraud', lying about AVZ's finances, and stating Cominiere want to control the finances

@obe wan added: "Cominiere brings nothing to the Manono project. All they do is try to hinder progress at every step. These are the people who keep the DRC in poverty despite enormous resources"

Jules Alingette released the IGF Report stating Cominiere's sale of shares to Zigin was illegal and fraudulent

TSE as a platform for sharing information and helping our cause has been a great benefit to all shareholders, but when shareholders just vent and whinge about the same things week in week out, and blame everything on the exec's and BOD, it risks shareholders who are contributing to our cause losing interest in helping others. I had my shot at the exec's and BOD ahead of the roadshows, I've long moved on to take a more pro-active approach....

This is just my opinion because I'm one of those shareholders who is rapidly losing interest in contributing due to the wingers

Well from roon-aus on the crapper John Clarke and Rhett are in the ten highest paid directors in australia for fy2022. Probably as they are doing such a great job NOT. So there is obviously plenty of room for them to take a cut. Or should that be the same cut as share holders. The lot. Maybe they need to go get a real job like a lot of share holders had to.

John you need to look no further than QLD to see soveign risk in action - and Australia is considered a First World Country - stop your complaining and get behind the Board and Nigel.

Unless you are going to tell me that you have lived and worked in a 3rd World Country the only contribution you can make is staying silent.

This of course is not investment advice, but some whinges shouldn't be investing in shares - there are many that are struggling, me for one, but I stand with the Board.

Silent is Golden.
This is a public forum, everyone is encouraged to " speak their mind ", if only to calm the mental demons.....;)

Silence is not golden in that regard............best to express not repress........right or wrong, doesnt matter.

Mental health / physical health is definitely golden !!

There is alot to be angry about in this shit fest, the main culprits of course is the corrupt DRC govt, corrupt chinese actors who are doing their level best to rip off AVZ rights and in doing so , ripping off the hard earned AVZ longs , many of which have have been very brave to go all in for a prosperous future.

Good for you that you stand with the AVZ BOD, i do too, but fuck me, their lack of disclosure and porkie pies has caused pandemonium and could very well come back to bite them if these supposed discussions goes pear shape.

I gotta say, it really does rile me that TWIGGY FORREST can get a meet and greet with the top echelon regards to Hydrogen , (a direct opponent to lithium) after being in the country for two minutes whilst AVZ , who have worked meticulously for many years to prove up a life changing resource, not only for the DRC , but also the world, receives.........

It’s pretty obvious with what’s going on in Ukraine and Middle East, it’s pretty obvious the two super powers (China and US) are fighting out. DRC need to choose who they want to side with. I don’t think been in the middle is an option for them anymore. Who will they side with will determine the outcome of Manono from my opinion.

Which bit of that did you think was mistaken? The Zijin approach? That's just how I see their campaign based on the available information. I'm not saying it'll be successful. If you've got a different view on the situation I'd be pleased to hear it. I'm seeking to educate myself here from knowledgeable holders.
