I understand, and respect that but,

If these people were directly responsible for the DRC people dying, then by all means.

Those who died with the hands of that gunman, could have been totally innocent people doing their day to day jobs just like us to earn honest living for their families.

Anyways, it’s just a topic that I am directly affected with in the past, hence not in a favour of a gunman walking into an office and killing indiscriminately and the ripple effects are ever lasting.
China offers its fighter jets to Kinshasa

1679313139401.png

A delegation from the Chinese aeronautical company Catic accompanied by officers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) is staying in Kinshasa to offer combat aircraft to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the news agency reported on Thursday.

The objective of this trip to Kinshasa is to propose to the Congolese presidency the acquisition of several Chengdu FC-1 Xialong multirole combat aircraft, an aircraft built by CATIC (China Aviation Technology Import-Export Corp) and the result of a partnership Sino-Pakistani industrialist.

It is also built in Pakistan by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) company, under the name of JF-17 Thunder.

This offer aims to respond to the wish of Congolese President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to strengthen the Congolese air force, one of the components of the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC), which currently only has a few Sukhoi Su-25s from soviet design.

One of them was hit at the end of January as he was preparing to land at Goma airfield by a missile launch that the DRC blamed on neighboring Rwanda, accused of supporting the M23 rebellion ( Movement of March 23).

The Chinese delegation also offered Chengdu J-10 planes - from the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation - to Kinshasa, which are "significantly more expensive", specified the APA (independent), received in Brussels.

The FARDC has already ordered nine CH-4 type Male ("Medium Altitude Long Endurance") combat and reconnaissance drones from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the agency said.

The DRC is facing the M23 rebellion, which has seized large swathes of territory in the province of North Kivu since 2022, a region rich in minerals.

This mainly Tutsi armed group, defeated in 2013 by the FARDC with the support of MONUSCO peacekeepers, took up arms again at the end of 2021.

Crisis in the East of the DRC: Luanda, Pretoria and Kinshasa exchange for the consolidation of peace

Delegations from Angola, South Africa and the DRC discussed, on Sunday March 19 in Kinshasa, the establishment of a roadmap aimed at consolidating peace in eastern DRC.

During their discussions, these three countries intend to deepen their strategic and lasting partnership, aimed at achieving concrete results.

This partnership will extend to the sectors of economic development, defence, infrastructure and public administration.

Reports will be made to the respective Heads of State by the corresponding Foreign Ministers, so that regional diplomacy looks in the same direction and works for the same strategic objectives.

Established since August 2013 between the governments of the Republic of Angola, the Republic of South Africa and the DRC, this tripartite covers areas of political and diplomatic cooperation, defence, security and public order and local governance and to economic, social and infrastructure development.

Some background info on the Granda Inga Project valued at $100 Billion. Just like AVZ, they are not happy for them to control the project. So Twiggy is now in the DRC talking about quick projects, is Manono $3billion a quick one?

The Grand Inga project has hit a roadblock despite the signing of a memorandum of understanding in September 2020 with Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. to develop what could be the largest hydroelectric project in the world.

President Felix Tshisekedi expressed his disappointment with the situation during an interview with Bloomberg on January 19th, 2023, at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He believes that in order to move forward, Fortescue should bring in other investors, particularly from Africa, and potentially scale back their ambitions to accelerate the project’s development.

“We are not on the same wavelength,” said President Felix Tshisekedi. “We want to create an opportunity that brings together various interests, particularly those of Africa. We are open to all discussions and meetings.”

He added that he met with Fortescue’s President, Andrew Forrest, during his visit to Davos to continue the discussions.

Challenges of the Mega Project

Fortescue Future Industries Ltd. plans to harness the energy from Inga, which could potentially be twice as powerful as China’s Three Gorges project, to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia for the Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to estimates, the Grand Inga project aims to produce 10 million tons of green hydrogen annually. The project is also expected to create over 100,000 direct jobs and up to 500,000 indirect jobs. Additionally, a fund called “Inga Fund” will be established, which will receive 5% of the investments made for the Grand Inga project.

The project will also help to bring electricity to rural and peri-urban areas, in line with the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Industrialization Master Plan.

However, the project is currently facing delays due to disagreements within the Presidency and Government, according to sources familiar with the matter. Despite the support of the Head of State and former Special Adviser Kayembe, Fortescue is reportedly facing various administrative challenges.

Go AVZ!
FMG drew the short straw, that's for sure (LOL).
I don't believe the DRC has what it takes. It's a 3rd world country trying to jump into bed with 1st world organisations. They don't have the brains, people, education and willpower to get things off the ground, hence they are poverty stricken. FMG will look elsewhere eventually if it doesn't get traction this calendar year.

I've written off any future for AVZ in the short term, I'm a total pessimist. The DRC gov want to lay in bed with AVZ and grab a bigger slice of the pie IMHO, it's nothing to do with Zijin. Felix woulda sorted it a long time ago, but the fact it's still dragging on with his radio silence indicates to me that he's either going to be exposed eventually as a snack seeker or something else.

There are rumours flying that there are some high level meetings with Felix, MoM, AVZ, Dath/Com & some Australian Gov officials this week. Lets see what happens I guess.

Yep …the interesting part is Twiggy has no problems flying in & having meetings with Felix & Lukonde then heading out again …photo opportunities a plenty …being proactive & informing SH’s of events …our non achieving BoD …SFA …trying my damn hardest to be ***** Positive
John you need to look no further than QLD to see soveign risk in action - and Australia is considered a First World Country - stop your complaining and get behind the Board and Nigel.

Unless you are going to tell me that you have lived and worked in a 3rd World Country the only contribution you can make is staying silent.

This of course is not investment advice, but some whinges shouldn't be investing in shares - there are many that are struggling, me for one, but I stand with the Board.

Silent is Golden.

Well, QLD is a 3rd world economy, with the opaque governance to match.

And I bet Felix gets better mobile reception at home than I do in the State capital.

“Staying silent “ is the only contribution that us SH’s should partake in ….We pay these Jokers their wages so they just float along unaccountable for there jobs/actions .Nothing comes out of their pockets but we line theres
Fine …stand by your BoD like a silent grinning idiot & let them meander on into almost 11months of suspension leaving us clueless on whats happening. Its amazing Twiggy can fly in & out of the DRC ,keep SH’s informed plus take a few happy snaps with Felix & Lukonde (glad i have a few FMG shares in the bottom draw) but our leadership team struggle getting in the front door
Tell me about struggling ,with well over a million shares tied up & at present working night shift (its almost 1pm) WA time at 63 i shouldnt be placed in this situation with funds tied up for almost a year now We have been placed in this situation by an incompetent Board …im still struggling to understand WHY we are in suspension …is it %of ownership /ML or as Nigel let it slip at AGM shorts attack

ML was about 6 weeks away August 2021 then literally weeks away Dec 2021 then at RS Nigel let it slip Nov the 17th ? Was the go .Our Fearless leader also at AGM admitted that communication between Board & SH’s could be a lot more transparent, there’s a job in politics for NF when he finishes this fuck fest because he has the attitude/attributes that he must be lying(his lips are moving) How is that going ??????.Plus being told its none of our business & not a conflict of interest with being in bed with Klaus
Well Chuss our latest intel …I miss Nells/Fox even Cash’s local gossip/intel at least it was something to get excited about …Feel for some of our SH’s who are really doing it tough through NO fault of their own …We were a Top ASX 200 company
Finally before i get moving at work …a huge thank you to all our posters who do a magnificent job of actually trying to dot the i’s for us so much appreciated /welcomed plus one more thing @SilentOne appreciate your feed back but take your own advise “stay silent “ & “silence is Golden” you can practice what you preach :)😛👍🤓

Keeping silent & backing our BoD (not now) they have done their dash with me …hoping when /if this Shit Show is finished they may need to dip into their boosted legal fund to fight off disgruntled SH’s

Surprised Twiggy is having another go in the DRC after being previously shafted by Tony Blair:

The former British prime minister, whose Tony Blair Institute has been helping the DRC to develop its economic strategy, has warned President Tshisekedi against allowing the Australian giant Fortescue to be in sole charge of the development of the Grand Inga mega-dams.

Clearly something has since changed at the highest level and Twiggy fancies his chances again. Maybe a new venture has scored him a meeting with Felix.

Ok, CATH have stated they don’t care about ownership, they just want guaranteed supply.
So guarantee their supply, sell 9% to Twiggy and he gets us our foot in the door.
Job done

Any guesses on who the only selected tenderer is for pilot plant battery manufacture

1679351977459.png

The Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia will sign, on Monday, March 27, at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and Afreximbank, in Kinshasa, the framework agreement for the creation of Special Economic Zones dedicated to the production of precursors for batteries and electric vehicles.

The Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku, said that this signature will take place after the two institutions have accompanied the two countries in the process of selecting the consultant who will be in charge of conducting the pre-feasibility study.

"Of the bids received from these three bidding companies, following the International Tender Notice issued, only one was selected," he said.

The signing of this framework agreement between the parties to the project is a prerequisite for the launch of this pre-feasibility study aimed at designing an implementation plan and an operational model for the creation and operation of the transboundary SEZ. It also intends to identify the main challenges to facilitate the creation and operation of the transboundary SEZ and to develop a financing plan and fund-raising strategies.

The Minister of Industry reassured that everything is being done to ensure that this ceremony is marked with all its solemnity for a better mobilization of partners and inaugurate the implementation process of the ambitious project of the value chain Batteries and Electric Vehicles (BVE) in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ease up on the 'Dog' talk and threats please.

Thanks.
Appreciate your point but really! We just have to sit around with silence from management while other mineral producers can meet the head of state to ensure investments. If this BOD is so valuable 2mill plus a year they cost us. Why are we not at the table? This attitude of be polite and be respectful is what got us here in the first place. “Don’t question Klaus”. “Don’t question Langford” meanwhile other posts discuss footy and unrelated issues but don’t get your attention. I want your attention. I want the sentiment of shareholders to reflect the frustration and anger and I want the BOD to fear for THEIR OWN PERSONAL CAPITAL. Because frankly they have defrauded us. They have claimed control where they have none, they have claimed expertise where they have none and now you’re drinking the coolaid!
