AVZ Discussion 2022

How can it be in the DRC's best interest for Zijin to slow us down ? Don't they want this stuff out of the ground ASAP .
So do CATH

I'm sure if there is a deal where Zijin get the north it will include agreements on sharing the power station and not acting against the DRC's best interest. Doubt anyone would fuck with that if it means getting supply.

TBH, whats it look like?

Thats a pretty large no from me, they have been stalling the ML since 21 (https://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20211125/pdf/453d90kq7jgbsy.pdf)

Seems they want the best 'Deal' and are playing everyone interested off against each other. Its 2023 DICKHEADS, get a move on with it.

Also why don't they ask Zijin to play above board though, as you know, "we are cleaning up the mining sector"

My frustration towards this 'Competent' Government grows by the millisecond.

Yeah, lets be honest though, would anyone in their right mind trust Zijin to not hold us up and not screw us over the hydro plant.
Zijin have proven they don't give a fuck about DRC; with every action they have taken so far.
Like they will be held to some words saying, "now don't be naughty again, sign here".

If it happens like that, and it conceivably could, I'll wait for the initial stampede and for price to even out, but my trust in the company and DRC Govt would be shot to pieces.

Guys I've created a simple counter script in HTML which counts up in USD $ 300,000 every 24hours. The numbers go really fast.

It's currently at USD $ 84,765,321. This is the current DRC Tax Revenue loss that we calculated last night based ion the 40 weeks delay after the initial decree.

I thought if we could figure out how to host it we could create an embed plug in and use it in twitter as a visual aid. I can't post it here because the code doesn't work in the message function but here's a gif of it working.

Not sure if it's worth it in light of the most recent developments...

Yeah it's definitely a good visual reminder. And you can simply add what ever context you need in a particular tweet.

I mean can you imagine how much infrastructure or famine aid this could have provided so far? Farrk me what bunch of overgrown infantile numptys for letting it turn out like this.

If I read the article correctly, Zijin wants 100% of Northern part. How can MoM agree to this demand is beyond me. This is absolutely outrageous, unreasonable and pure robbery of people through corrupt practices.

Something is not adding up. MoM could not possibly agree to this?

In view of the above, Zijin Mining then presented its offer - "This Offer" - in the following terms: "1. A joint venture contract (the "Joint Venture Contract") will be concluded between a designated subsidiary of ZijinMining and COMINIERE, according to which the parties will create a joint venture (the "Joint Venture"), in which the Zijin Mining subsidiary will hold 71% shares and COMINÎERE 29% shares".

This offer concerns the northern part of the Dathcom Mining SA Permit in Manono for which AVZ MInerals is Cominière's only partner to have invested expertise and money in exploration and studies that have led to the certifying the largest lithium deposit in the world while Cominière and its poor engineers at the head of the Technical Department could not imagine it.

Zijin is even more explicit: "After the creation of the Joint Venture, COMINIERE will assign the mining right to the Target Party legally held by it to the Joint Venture, free from any privilege, charge, claim, litigation and default. The research, development and operation of the Targeted Party will be carried out on behalf of the Joint Venture. On the date when COMINIERE assigns the mining right of the Target Party to the Joint Venture by completing all relevant procedures such as registration, registration and notarization, and that the Joint Venture becomes the legal and effective holder of 100% of the rights and interests of the Targeted Party, JIN CHENG will give back its 15% of shares in DATHICOM to COMI-NIERE

Awesome.
Just make sure to put a really clear title on it too so it's super obvious that it's DRC lost revenue.

Maybe you should have a second one to for contrast... A snack counter :p
People can watch the relationship between increasing snacks and increasing lost revenue

This article from this morning is worth a read, notes the cancellation of the decree was outside of the mining law.

"concerning the Manono lithium project in the province of Tanganyika. Against all expectations and to everyone's surprise, the Minister of Mines, Antoinette N'Samba Kalambay, miraculously and illegally cancelled, by order of January 28, 2023, the operating permit n°13359 of the company DATHCOM Mining SA much to the anger and disappointment of the populations of Manono. Reason given by the Minister: "conflicts between shareholders", this is not one of the reasons provided for by the mining law of the country."
geez what a 'theft of the century' this would be ... Zijin basically agreeing to renounce the 15% of Dathcom and Cominiere keep the cash so as the south can move forward, if they can have the north....what a deal . wonder how many oh fuck moments were had today, when this article surfaced

At the roadshow it was mentioned that the north contained higher Mica. There was also a very clear point made that the vast majority of our CURRENT value was in Roche, basically saying loosing the north would not effect our current value much. At the time I felt this was a clear message to prepare ourselves to lose the north, but all will still be OK. Did others who heard this get the same impression? It sounded very deliberate and was not just a passing comment or off the cuff remark. I spoke to other share holders afterwards, most of which didn't take much notice of this information.
Yes that was exactly the impression that many of us did get and it was discussed in some detail a while back.
This information we're now privy to now wasn't available of course and the speculation was based more around AJN from memory.

Exactly

And why are we being conditioned on the forum to accept that these things are inevitable and that AVZ should acquiesce on so many matters to hopefully retain just a slither of its rightful entitlements?

Why are the illegal dealings of Cominiere and Zijin and the blocking tactics of the MoP and CAMI being portrayed now as solid and bona fide claims or activities that are pointless to challenge and we should be negotiating with these entities for crumbs or we will lose "everything"?

Why has this narrative been carefully grown and cultivated on this forum?

Who is the shepherd?

Are we the sheep?

Can you see the Chairman of the Board of Directors of any self-respecting company sign personally a letter of this nature, in this tone, to any Government agency and stamp the letter "confidential"?

Just ask yourself and take in consideration the amount of misinformation originating in the DRC...

Some thoughts

1. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Latest article exposing zijin/cominiere dodgy dealings will make it harder to execute their plans.

2. After the reveal of this letter, how can we be expected to work with zijn in any capacity. They must be removed completely.

3. 'The Chinese' are not zijn. Zijn have proven themselves a blight on the DRC. CATH are by all indications going to be a positive partner in the projet. Point being, the entire weight of china is not supporting zijn. We have partnership deal with CATH and offtakes with other Chinese companies. 'China' is getting the lithium regardless - zijin is acting only in interest of zijin.

4. Corrupt actors in DRC have been able to get away with shit pretty easily previously. They are not used to any level of scrutiny, and so now they are pushing the boundaries. But just like self interest pushes them to do dodgy in exchange for snacks, self-preservation will mean eventually they won't want to risk their personal position manipulating a project that's getting so much attention. Sure no one's been incarcerated yet, but there have been arrests. That simply didn't happen previously. If we keep revealing the dodgines, people will decide this isn't the hill they want to die on.
