Today, the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP) partners and key minerals-rich countries held a vice-ministerial meeting to discuss priorities, challenges, and opportunities in responsible mining, processing, and recycling of critical minerals.

MSP partners participating in the meeting included: Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union. Additional countries in attendance included Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

MSP partners also announced support for the following principles for a shared commitment to high environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. The announcement was made at the Investing in African Mining Indaba conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

These announced principles mark the public commitment to full integration of ESG standards into the MSP’s work, with the goal of achieving an equitable and just energy transition. The MSP will support socially responsible projects that meet recognized international ESG standards. Under these basic principles, the MSP will support projects that:
  • Demonstrate responsible stewardship of the natural environment;
  • Engage in consultative and participatory processes with regard to land access and acquisition;
  • Commit to meaningful, ongoing consultation with communities;
  • Ensure safe, fair, inclusive, and ethical conditions in the community and the workplace;
  • Provide economic benefit for workers, and local communities; and
  • Ensure transparent, ethical business operations.
/end

These new principles will apply at some future time, but not now while our arses are bleeding because, why would they?

I’ll write to the State Department tonight and revert if they happen to come back with anything more than a boilerplate response. [edit:done]

I chatted with Graeme Johston one on one at the AGM, I can confirm, that is definitely him.

Imo
As much as I wish it were Graeme, the most likely truth is that it isn't. This is Mark Bristow, here he is in South Africa at Indaba, he looks basically the same as in the photo (which does look similar to Graeme)
. Has the same tie pattern as in the photo taken on that same day.... Unfortunately it's very likely to be Mark and not Graeme.
(We don't even know where Graeme is)

You obviously didn't discuss his hairstyle. Unfortunately.

Why doesn’t the world as a whole have any fucking balls to call countries governments out on their bullshit.. embarrassment should be a proven method of producing a result

I’m sick to death of DRC saying they’re open to business, destroying corruption.. every single action they take is showing the complete opposite. Fucktards

Why Mark Bristow having a meeting with DRC MOM? I had a look at their project. They only have one undeveloped gold project in north east of DRC, which looks like not their major project.

I love all of you and your supportive nature over here I mean that, you guys are a port in a storm. but we all know full well when it comes to energy and fuel. The world forces wouldn’t care if they had to enslave children to dig it up. They just want it. They will turn a blind eye to the shitkickers from the “asshole of the world” and their tears, to get ahold of the blue gold. Woke culture is for the arts. Not business. The USA and Xhina will kill every motherfucker in manono and not give a rats cock about it. BOD must play the game and get on board the corruption shit show, cash us out and laugh that they tried to bring the dream to Africa. Africa as it has through history will rape itself and it’s family and then when it’s all gone they will come again with hands out and flys on their faces for aid that will be dumped into the pockets of the morons at the top. Like North Korea, like Russia, like all corrupt shitholes the people need to rise up and put heads on pikes. But they won’t they will sit idle while their own leaders rape and pillage them for personal wealth.

I’ve just written to the US State Department. There’s a 99.992% chance they tell me to go fuck myself, but one has to try...

You make some good points.
BUT I have to take issue with the people sitting idle.
They will not, they will be struggling to survive the day and if they're really lucky then their kids will survive too.
When you are forced to live like that then there is no time,and literally no energy, to change anything.

Agree mate.

We have some very smart people here who post however instead of posting here I highly recommend those here focus on twitter and become posters tagging every fucking tweet coming out of the DRC.

How about this for a wide eyed fantasy. We look at value zinjin took the %15 for and issue all holders more shares based on that value. At %15 for what zinjin paid each current share is equivalent to what 6 shares. So then we’re all even and move forward to mine. No one gets their nose out of joint
I was with you until you lost me on the 13th word

Doesn't realy matter much where he is. obviously he's not where it counts. Just move on as per usual. That's how it goes isn't it. 100% that tax relief will be granted ( in writing he said that the dopey prick) but didn't say for some other pricks that actually spend time in drc. Was he at Manono for the new chief or what ever the fuck he is NO. Were the Germans reps OF FUCKING CAUSE THEY WHERE. Just sums the whole fucken debacle. What a fucken clown show. Worst than that arrogant clown show. Only in australia.

Ah mate, I read you and often think the same. I guess my suffering is a little more verbose. To be Frank (not the man though I miss him). I believe we are going to be fine. I still see us going to mine I still see us succeeding and I’m in until we do. Disappointed with DRC and managements lack of tact. But I think we will see the dream come to reality in 3 years or a tasty buy out. Either way thanks for all your posting on this whole journey. It’s been stabilising.
