Giving the IGF findings any normal government would ask ministers to step down pending investigations. The evidence was so compelling that it’s laughable that Felix has taken so long to make that move. I hope he moves the ministers sooner rather than later and has power/support to do so

On a positive note she hasn’t said a peep in the media since late November which might suggest her power she thought she once had is fading away

At the Martyrs stadium, Pope Francis launches to young people:
“Reject corruption!

The future of the country is in your hands, said François to the young Congolese and catechists gathered Thursday, February 2 in the Martyrs of Pentecost stadium in Kinshasa, before offering them five ingredients, like the five fingers of the hand, to build the future of the DRC.

“You are a unique, incomparable and incomparable wealth. No one in history can replace you,” Francis first told the more than 65,000 young people and catechists gathered in a stadium that first honored the Holy Father with festive songs and dances.

“You can shake your hand and close it, it becomes a fist: or you can open it and make it available to God and others,” Francis told the crowd, accompanying his remarks with a demonstration by gesture. make the choice of Abel or that of Cain.

For the future to be born in the hands of young people, the Sovereign Pontiff has distilled five ingredients for them, like the five fingers of the hand.

In the DRC, 60% of the population is under 20 years old.

Thumb for prayer

The thumb is the finger closest to the heart, it “corresponds to the prayer that makes life throb”, developed François. Prayer is a fundamental ingredient, “it is like an uprooted tree: even if it is big and vigorous, it cannot stand on its own.”

Prayer is the water of the soul, "it is humble, we do not see it but it gives life."

But this prayer must be alive, specified the successor of Peter to the crowd of a country ravaged by wars: "do not turn to Jesus as if he were a distant and distant being of whom we are afraid, but rather the greatest friend who gave his life for you.

He knows you, he believes in you and loves you, always.”

Every day, Francis invited, we must raise our hands and bless God, “tell him about your neighborhood, your neighbors, your teachers, your companions, your friends and colleagues; of your country.

God loves this living, concrete prayer, made with the heart", he advised, before asking the young people and catechists a question: "Do you want to choose prayer as your secret, as the water of your soul, as the only weapon you have to carry with you, as your daily travel companion?”

With young Congolese, François urges to reject corruption

The future of the country is in your hands, said François to the young Congolese and catechists gathered Thursday, February 2 in the Martyrs of Pentecost stadium in Kinshasa, before offering them five ingredients, like the five fingers of the hand, to build the future of the DRC.

Middle finger for honesty

Next comes the central finger, which rises above the others, as if to remind us of an indispensable thing: honesty.

“It is the fundamental ingredient for a future that meets your expectations”.

The opposite of honesty is corruption, the Pope explained, as the DRC is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, ranking 166 out of 180 countries in Transparency International's Corruption Index.

"All together, we say 'no corruption'," Francis repeated to the crowd, prompting a cheer.

“I like this song, you are good,” he said with a smile, interrupting his speech to let the crowd cheer for several minutes.

There are many young Congolese who oppose the corruption that plagues their country, like the testimony told later by the Pope; that of Floribert Bwana Chui, killed fifteen years ago in Goma at the age of 26 for having blocked the passage of spoiled foodstuffs which would have damaged people's health.

“He could have let it happen, no one would have found out, and he would have won.

But, as a Christian, he prayed, thought of others and chose to be honest by saying no to the filth of corruption,” he said.

“That is keeping your hands clean while the hands that smuggle money are bloody.”

If someone hands out an envelope, "don't fall into the trap, don't let yourself be deceived, don't let yourself be swallowed up in the swamp of evil," Francis insisted, saying "no" with his index finger.

President Félix Tshisekedi thanks Pope Francis “for his inspiring words around peace and solidarity”

1675464547204.png

President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo accompanied the sovereign pontiff this Friday, February 3 to N'djili international airport, to take his flight to Juba in South Sudan, after his stay in Kinshasa.

According to the presidential press, Félix Tshisekedi wanted to thank personally and on behalf of the Congolese people, Pope Francis "for his inspiring words around peace, solidarity and prayer, pronounced during his stay in Kinshasa".

"President Tshisekedi also wanted to thank Pope Francis for his spirit of love, compassion and comfort towards the Congolese before telling him that he will always be welcome in the Democratic Republic of Congo", reported the office of the Congolese head of state.

In Kinshasa, the Bishop of Rome called on all those pulling the strings of war in the DRC to listen to the voice of God who, he said, calls them to conversion.

“End the war. It is enough to get rich on the backs of the weakest, to get rich with resources and money tainted with blood! “, he urged.

“We cannot get used to the blood that has been flowing for decades in the DRC, causing millions of deaths.

May the ongoing peace processes, which I encourage with all my strength, be supported in practice and that commitments be kept,” he said.

Pope Francis recalled that "the DRC and Africa deserve to be respected and listened to, they deserve space and attention".

He, in the process, called on the predators to "stop suffocating Africa", which is not a mine to be exploited nor a land to be plundered, he warned.

Well it's been 3 months since the Perth roadshow. I am interested if the majority of people who attended are still confident at a positive result (ML issued, retain 75% and gain 15% FROR).
There was talk about "having the ML by the AGM" from management and even talk about a presidential decree from FT because Nigel was due to meet with FT.

We've seen Felix come out and publicly tell the youth "show me the evidence and corrupt ministers will be gone", we've seen the IGF publicise their report showing how guilty the Green toad has been and yet she still appears in "the first council of ministers of Sama Lukonde 2 government."

We've got Frank being relatively quiet on the bird. We've had Marius and momentum tell us that "its time" 4 months ago.

Wonder which countries Felix will be flying to this month in his new plane. When is this Lion going to show his damn teeth @Carlos Danger ???

How much longer do we have to wait before releasing the "amazing string of announcements" and then flicking this off.

Has the idea ever crossed managements minds to reduce their salaries in the interim?

Farkn. Need another "Site update" showing us that we have built some more housing....

Well we've got Nigel speaking at 121 mining in Cape Town on the 6th, they must have been desperate. He can repeat all the shit he's been saying for 2+ years. How embarrassing. 🤭

If Felix turns his back on the IGF, the NGO's and the local journalists that have supported his fight against corruption then he probably won't be President much longer. That's why we need to sell if he doesn't show his teeth soon. The best case scenario out of the election would be Felix remains in office and we still have delays.

I back Nigel and the bod because everything they said about the delays at the AGM has been proven to be true by the official documents that have been released since. I'm 99% sure they are telling the truth when they have given the laughable deadlines for the ML. But at some point there has to be a decision made that it's best to get the fuck out of there because it's not happening.

Maybe lions gonna lion. Maybe Felix doesn't want us to mine it. Maybe it is simple incompetence and Felix can't back up his talk. Maybe this whole shitshow was thought up by Nigel and Klaus over a few gin and tonics one night in Kinshasa and they will end up working as 'advisers' to whoever buys us out. Maybe the best thing to do is roll the bod and find out exactly what's going on.

IMO there is a delay in the reshuffle because of the visit by the pope. You can't air your dirty laundry in front of the world. I believe that it was reported that the reshuffle could take up to a couple of weeks from when Felix returned to the DRC. So, we can look forward to next week.

Not as confident that's for sure, probably due to the information that's been leaked out of just how much shits been thrown around.

Still confident due to some movement made: Cominere accosted, IGF onside, 40 NGOs onside, Felix rid himself of advisors two of which were known against AVZ so Mupande stooges hence weakening him too, Felix changed his cabinet and is about to change Lukondes too.

Still unsure on Felix, does he want some honey? he does have expensive taste in watches that his salary can't afford.😬

We have Chinese with DEEP pockets and DRC politicians that LOVE diabetes, not a great mix.
It looks like with this reshuffle we will find out soon on which side Felix falls, Corrupt or Corruption fighter. Expecting the Green Mumba to stay, but be moved into a less lucrative position.
Remember reading somewhere it would take a couple of weeks once Felix is back in country (Kikki?)
so hoping next week, expecting Africa-time so 2-3 weeks away probably🙁

If Felix fucks off on his new plane before sorting the reshuffle out I'm going to need a padded room.

This whole situation is ridiculous, the US are looking into investing in the DRC as are many other countries (germans, japs, koreans). These countries are watching the rampant corruption behind Manono, Felix must have an idea how weak he looks and how bad an idea investing into the DRC looks.

Managements wages are a big piss-off, Nigel will probably laugh as with his not-a-conflict-of-interest🤦‍♂️ AJN holding "none of your business peasant" nudge-wink. They put us here through their actions end of, they should take a cut. wink-nudge-wink

Agree. $10

I reckon if Felix $10comes down on the Chinese side, if the BOD hasn't read the writing on the wall and aren't looking to sell. Then they better have the worlds greatest reason why, as even that may go down like a lead balloon$10. The talk of rolling the BOD becomes a bit more real in that $10 scenario.

Don't think it'll come to that though. famous last words

I see this in very simple terms . A decision on the ML will be made in the coming days / weeks by Felix's actions . At that point if the right changes haven't been made then the ML is lost . It is not ambiguous . We don't need to wait for a Yes ML or No ML . This is the moment SH tell Nigel to pull the rip cord and get us the f--k out of there . We are getting close to the moment where this either starts or finishes . IMO

FROM TITAN ON THE CRAPPER

reshuffle was supposed to be latest friday , we are all waiting hopefully in next few days .
Glencore fined 180 million for bribes in DRC up till 2018 .
Cleaning the cupboard pushing for reparations under Corrupt Kabila reign .
The Chinese it should be noted are under the reparation microscope as well with Felix openly leading that avenue .
So in the context of they above do you really think they are going to let major corruption slide in full international view , when in reality AVZ is a major player in the supply chain regarding MOU with USA .
Felix will carry on with his anti corruption adgenda ,and anyone stating otherwise is completely disingenuous .

Yes i know if any thing is obvious it is like the Sloth out of Zootopia , so slow it's painful, dying from a thousand razor blade cuts .
As Pazboz stated the untouchable man Jean Felix( great respect for Paz ) but i think he will be man handled by the new Minister of Mines .
The Green Woman moved on , the new sheriff dissolving the corrupt 15% Zingin purchase .
My logic unequivocally tells me under the DRC and USA MOU , that AVZ being shafted is just not going to fly .
The alternative is what a chinese run mine , Blinken will pop the champagne on that one .
There is only one option my Fellow LTH i was told that by a little birdie in a Balinese Cab .
look foward to Nigels talk , i think a bit of Morse code will be fowarded if we listen carefully .

I'm not sure why everyone is counting in this reshuffle so much, from what we've seen in the past it'll take any new ministers a good while to find their feet. And who's to say that the replacement isn't just another criminal since the government is rife with them. FT was our only answer for a quick resolution but this isn't going so well. Vidiye Tshimanga has cast doubt on his integrity as has his inaction to date on the IGF findings.
Also there is nothing to sell with no licence unless we're talking about selling for a pittance. Even then you'd assume that ownership needs 100% clarity.
Everything is hinging on the licence, management even said as much at the roadshow.
Not sure about anyone else but I'm getting sick of being strung along by one false hope afrer another that make no sense.
I don't expect any sort of quick resolution after the government reshuffle, if it even happens and if the grub is truly gone.
Unless something monumental happens behind the scenes I reckon we're still in for a slow grind.
Remember still zero resolution to any of the outstanding issues to date.
Totally agree Sammo.

*Ditto, Now the Pope has pissed off, lets see the long awaited / overdue / Imminent

Government reshuffle:

Yes the announcement has been made officially.

“It is true that it is imminent, but that could happen after the return of the President of the Republic who has already been in Switzerland since last night.

Things are already fixed, the new government team will be known before the end of January.

Maybe next weekend in the evening,” said a close associate of the President of the Republic who requested anonymity.

The Ministers on whom the suspicions of corruption weigh will not be renewed, according to our source.

“For the Head of State, all the ministers who are in the sights of the General Inspectorate of Finance will not be renewed.

Already the restructuring of his cabinet has been a strong message with the sidelining of people considered to be powerful advisers…”,
Continues our source.

The RTNC will certainly be the most followed media in this period when the Congolese are waiting for the new government team.

Maybe the political hitting power of announcing one of the world's most profitable mining ventures getting the green light is being used as a vote winner by Felix - the closer to the the election the greater the impact on voters come ballot day. I can think of no other reason for the bewildering lack of leadership.
